- A ceremony was held for the promotion of Paige Hunter on Saturday, February 6, 2016. Hunter became the first female to achieve Brigadier General rank in the West Virginia National Guard.

Not true at all.I have seen both male and females get promoted who couldn't find their ass with 2 hands and a map.

Uh... both branches have identical promotion systems, sonny. Based on the law for one thing. So, complain to your chain of command if you think sailors deserve more promotions. They do deserve more, don't they?

It looked like her parents were there. The average BGen gets their first star at 28 years in service so at a minimum 50 and average is 56 so yeah they would be old.
I hope that she remembered that the first round of drinks are on her

Great honor but not sure why they had to have all those poor enlisted folks there, don't think they were quite as excited!!! Back in the day when I got my promotions from basic airman to staff sergeant, all I got was a piece of paper saying, oh btw guy, you've been promoted. LOL
