If memory serves, the only original, edgy program Cartoon Network had before _Dexter's Lab_ was _Space Ghost Coast to Coast_ . Before 1996, CN programming was almost entirely nostalgic reruns of old toons (1960s-80s). _Dexter_ ushered in the era when CN came into its own, broadcasting a new generation of shows like _The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest_ , _Johnny Bravo_ , _Powerpuff Girls_ , and so many others.
You're videos are great. I enjoy hearing your take on these wonderful cartoons from our childhood. Looking back and watching them now certainly feels different, but it's still great. Would love to see you mention Evil Con Carne or make a video on it.

I know this sounds stupid and random but i was looking through my subscriptions an hour or two ago and was thinking this dude is bound to upload something really soon and what do ya know.
I just don't understand how Cartoon Network took such a bad turn it seemed like the channel was on top of the world with memorable classics like Dexter's Laboratory and Powerpuff Girls along with new hits like Adventure Time Steven Universe and Regular Show, but now it just seems like all they want to do is make one garbage show after another along with a horrible schedule.
@@geoffreyrichards6079 Well the new Checkered Past block on Adult Swim is definitely a step in the right direction now all they need to do is either put all the classic shows back on the main channel along with the new hits on the schedule or recreate the Boomerang channel into CN Past where all the classic shows will be brought back for a 24/ 7 broadcast.
I don't 100% agree with this. Had a big impact? Yes. Changed cartoons *forever* ? Ehh, I don't think so. Don't get me wrong Dexter is good show, and definitely influencial. But this is kinda a stretch imo. I don't think one show should get all the credit, when it's mostly a whole movement/era of change for the creativity of animation, from different shows imo.
If we're talking CN, they did have Space Ghost Coast to Coast, which had spawned AS classics like ATHF, Squidbillies, and I think Sealab. Tiny Toons and Animaniacs had clever humor and pop culture references. Rocko had innuendos and witty humor. Ren & Stimpy had brought back that Hanna Barbara/UPA style and mixed it with gross out humor, slapstick, and closeups.
Even adult shows like Simpsons, Beavis & Butthead, and Duckman already had pop culture references and has made significant impact. And Dexter isn't the first or last show with members making their own craft. Ren & Stimpy influenced the closeup humor and OST of Spongebob. Rocko had Hillenburg and the creator ended up making Camp Lazlo. Spongebob had the creator of Chowder working in it. Flapjack had Penn Ward, J.G Quintell and Alex Hirsch. Swampy and Marsh worked on Hey Arnold, Etc etc
To give credit where credit where credit is due though, it's hard not to see the influence it had on shows like FOP, MLAATR, PPG, Danny Phantom, Foster's Home or Chalk Zone. I think it influenced Phineas & Ferb, hiding their crafts from their parents, while a sister attempts to sabotage plans. I don't think Jimmy Neutron was influenced as much however, since pilot shorts of Jimmy & Dex came out the same year (1995).
Late 90s early 200s is my generation didn't always have cable growing up but whenever I went to a family members house that had cable this courge the cowardly dog Ed edd n Eddy codename kids next door Disney VHS tapes early SpongeBob computer games and ps2 toonami with dbz yu yu hakusho Ronai Kenshin samurai jack justice league Batman beyond good days of coming home and watching TV ❤❤😊

Maybe I’m just weird, but I do not see the hype around this show. I don’t really care about, and I think the side-segments(especially Justice Friends)were way more entertaining and better than the main segment.
Yes. At the end of it I was like so because it came first and some people who worked on it went on to make bigger and better shows it shaped CN as we know it. Ok but any show could have done this. But still a cool thing to think about no less.
I'm glad I am not the only one who thought this. He talked like Animaniacs, Tiny Toons, Ren and Stimpy, etc weren't around not long before this doing the same style of witty, pop culture comedy.
idk bruv... I wouldn't attempt to tell any youtuber how to do their job, that being said I was really enjoying the way you were describing how creepy some of these cartoons can be, but I can barely focus on this Dex lab latest video, its just not that interesting.

Can’t remember personality and whether he spoke but probably would have sounded different anyway don’t think he would have been able to get Seth Green then anyway.
R.i.p. piwi+ 2003-2023 🎉😊hello piwi!
IK you may not see this, but on the off chance you do, please consider doing (Top Cat). Thanks😊
It hurt my soul to hear how old this show is 😂 I was only eight when it aired and it definitely doesn't feel like that long ago 😭
Right?!
No the episode I thought of was the pool one lol or the mime one 😂
I know this sounds stupid and random but i was looking through my subscriptions an hour or two ago and was thinking this dude is bound to upload something really soon and what do ya know.
GERARD MCBOING BOING?
Gerald
i dont think you showed a single clip of the clone wars he actually worked on
I just don't understand how Cartoon Network took such a bad turn it seemed like the channel was on top of the world with memorable classics like Dexter's Laboratory and Powerpuff Girls along with new hits like Adventure Time Steven Universe and Regular Show, but now it just seems like all they want to do is make one garbage show after another along with a horrible schedule.
It’s mainly due to circumstances outside their control, due to Warner Bros. being acquired by Discovery and severe shakeups and layoffs.
Hahaha I miss "What a Cartoon* 😂❤
Gendy also made PRIMAL!!
Clone Wars(2D animation ) and The Clown Wars(3D animation) are two completely different shows...
Yea I found out from the comments I had no idea. I’ve never really watched Star Wars so had no clue there was 2 shows
Hello I have subscribed to your RUclips channel
Thanks for the sub dude! Hope you enjoy the videos 👍
@@JoeRuffler You welcome

What about ren & stimpy
I'm saying. I'm not a 90s kid, but I think shows like Ren & Stimpy, Simpson's, and Rocko's Modern Life have been doing these things for some time.
Maybe I’m just weird, but I do not see the hype around this show. I don’t really care about, and I think the side-segments(especially Justice Friends)were way more entertaining and better than the main segment.
How old are you? Ain’t no way you just used the tone like Cartoon Network was not the top network during its golden age. Insane
Wrong clone wars
The Live Action PPG is cancelled, actually.
You're not gonna like this - but there's only one boy genius and he's not Jimmy Neutron
So gooD
Dexter's Lab was ok. It wasn't groundbreaking and this whole video is hyperbole, but it was ok.
@@zhunn484fr and Rocko's Modern Life
Dexter is basically the pioneer for CN. He literally paved the way for the old gen and new gen. Truly CN is goated.
[as].
Oh, a person who can't be bothered to learn the name of the creator of the thing he's going to talk about. I'm sure that will be insightful...
Nah it's trash, you shouldn't watch.
@@JoeRuffler I won't, thanks.
SpongeBob wasn’t on Cartoon Network. It was on Nickelodeon goof.
I am aware
I like old cartoons of 1997 and 2004 those cartoons that are new suck as fuck
key word for views = DISTURBING Cartoons
idk bruv... I wouldn't attempt to tell any youtuber how to do their job, that being said I was really enjoying the way you were describing how creepy some of these cartoons can be, but I can barely focus on this Dex lab latest video, its just not that interesting.
Just because that's what he started on doesn't mean that's all he should do. It'll get stale eventually doing only that. Some of us just like hearing deep dives on shows from our childhood. Also saying you wouldn't tell someone how to do their job then attempting to tell them how to do their job is kinda silly. Wouldn't tell someone how to comment but that said, maybe have some respect and move it along 🙋
