Thank you for your informative directions. I have now repaired the gas knob and it is turning again freely. Also I don't need to go into hysterics wondering how I can afford a new stove top. Thank you again. kind regards Libby.
Great video. Just had the repair man here and could not fix the valve because it was no longer available. Found your video and within 5 minutes I was able to fix the problem.
Thank you very much, your video was very useful. I just fixed my stuck knob valve with my available engine oil. It's working fine, I appreciate you, you've just gained one subscriber to your channel.
Thank you so much. Worked on one of them after i left vegetable oil in the stem to soak over night. Now ill try the other. My stove is probably 15 to 20 years old
Is it still working? I would be concerned that vegetable oil would become gummy after awhile (like it gets on the bottle cap). Mineral oil or sewing machine oil or anything that stays liquid would have been my first choice. Please let us know. Vegetable oil is something I have on hand.
Thanks for the video, it was a great help. The voice confused me though, my roommate and I looked at each other and said "This dude sounds like Shawn Michaels!"
I may have to give this a try. I just got new knobs on my gas oven (done by my landlord), and now, only one knob turns. Of course, it was the knob for the burner that hadn't been working at all beforehand.
Awesome, I’m so glad it worked and saved you time and money 😊 I hope you’ll click here to support us by joining our Channel: ruclips.net/channel/UCGpInAejvpfVVE4FHB_L-Dgjoin
Isn’t white lithium grease flammable? Is it okay to use this? I’m so scared to use this on the burner because my hob top/stove is one where there isn’t a separate button to trigger the ignition of the flame… the actual knob is pressed down and the clicking immediately starts to light a flame. I know the burner is nowhere near the flame itself, which comes from each hob but I’m so scared I’m going to cause a house fire somehow!
Thanks for the video, but I would like to add an important note: it was said that about any kind of oil will work. Cation: your in the kitchen so the handiest oil around are cooking oils. Don't use these. Yes, for a short time they will lubricante- BUT then these types of oils as they dry gum up bad ( notice on an oils skillet or in clean stove), when it dries you are going to have a bigger problem than when you started. Use store bought lubarcants. Thinks once again for the video!
@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance hey thanks for replying. So i worked on 2 of my knobs. 1 turned after a while. The other wouldnt turn and ive spent over 30 mins trying this. It goes to show they both had same issue. What can i try if it refuses to turn after trying numerous times?
Try letting the oil or WD-40 Soak in overnight. Might take a few days of applying the oil and letting it soak. Try a little more pressure on that third knob.
I ordered the crc lithium grease, tried the repair, and it didn’t work, at first. But, after leaving it sit for about 24 hours, the seized burned valve started working again. So, let it sit for a day - don’t force the valve!!!
Thank you so much! I thought i’d have to have my stove replaced, this was such an easy fix!

You've got another happy RUclipsr who will subscribe. It worked for me too!
That is awesome news,
Thank you👍😊
What lubricant did you use??
With his advice (remember to push before you turn) and WD40, it worked.
Thanks so much. Just fixed the stuck burner valve on my Samsung stove. Couple sprays of WD-40 and a few turns, that's all I needed.
Excellent 👍
I’m scared to use WD40 with it being flammable - was it okay for you?

Awesome tip! Couple of sprays of WD40 and a few turns!
I did spray wd 40 before watching this video but to rotate stub knob either way slowly as shown in video is what helped. Thanks.
Very good,
Thank you😊
Thanks for the tip, I fixed my stove in a heart beat.
Awesome,
Thank you
Thanks for posting!
You’re welcome Tom😊

Thank you brother your tip was very useful, back in workung order!
Nice job,
Thank you
Thx. I fixed mine with patient
Nice job, you did it
Thanks I’ll try that 🤔 what causes it ? Lack of use ? I’m sure I rarely use THAT burner !
I think it’s from non use.
Works like a charm, just need to apply some pressure to twist after sprayed on some wd-40
Thank you for posting this video. Very helpful it worked.

Hi Chloe,
Just a small amount at the base of the stem that comes out to the knob is fine.

What if it snaps whilst trying to turn it with pliers? Would it leak gas
It shouldn’t leak gas👍

You bet, no problem👍
My knob is working in opposite directions like when it should be off its on and vice versa ..how to fix that ?
Can you send a video of what that knob does to me at: scottthefixitguy@yahoo.com
We opened while dismatled the knob turns and click then putting it back the knob does not want to turn at all.
It looks like a sort of keyway that keeps me to turn the knob. Please help
Can you send that same question to my email: scottthefixitguy@yahoo.com
my gas oven knob turns, problem is flames go out once i release the knob.. how do i fix this?

Great info.😊👍😊👍
I added some W40 but it is not turning despite multiple attempts. So I am leaving it overnight - fingers crossed!
@@higherspirit1 Well? I'm curious. :)
@@craigslist474 Didn’t work. It had to be removed by opening up the stove and removing the whole knob from the inside.
Would WD40 work?
That should work 👍
Isn’t it dangerous to use oil in a gas stove?
That part isn’t near any heat source so it’s ok👍
tried multiple times, the valve just won't budge
Yep, sometimes they just need to be replaced.
Maybe let the oil sink in for one more day and try it.
Going to by wd 40
