You can tell by Jude Law's answers that he truly has been a Star Wars fan his whole life. It's genuine, unlike some other actors (ahem.. Acolyte) who just pay lip service to the fans.
Funny thing is, Mark Hamill hasn't been a fan his whole life, either... but look how much he cares about the fans. (And yes I'm kinda making a joke because SW didn't exist for part of his life, so how could he have been a fan, before he helped create the original? Lol)
Honestly, some of them just need like a brief 5-minute PR crash course. Its really not that hard to not say something stupid enough to piss off the fans. If you don't know something (like if you think Anakin blew up the Death Star or something) you can honestly just be like, "Honestly, I'm just an actor doing a job. I'm not a huge fan of the series. I don't know that much about it." I honestly think that would get like 1% as much hate as saying something so obviously incorrect. Also, for many things you can probably just be like, "I've been advised not to speak much about it until after every episode has been seen" or something. (Since like 90% of the interviews seem to come out before the show finishes airing) Or, if in a movie, you could say something like, "I've been advised not to say much until the theater run is done, so I don't spoil the movie for anyone who hasn't had the chance to see it yet." Boom. Like 3 perfectly acceptable answer to 99% of the interviews and questions. Those aren't going to get almost any hate. Especially when they mention not spoiling things for fans? Almost everyone who hears/reads that may think, "Wow, they actually care about not spoiling things for fans?! Cool!" Of course, this doesn't help for any interviews that happen like 3 months after the movie or show premier... but there's still that first option. "I just did my job. Sorry."
I'm in the camp that he has a dark past and did bad things. Heck, in the opening scene he was responsible for some deaths including having the captain tossed out the airlock which is a horrible way to kill somebody. I DO believe however that he will have his redemption because... Star Wars.
I'm partial to the idea that he's someone who never had any connection to either the Jedi or the Sith. He's simply someone with limited Force abilities who learned at a young age that what he could do could put him in danger so he's careful about using his abilities.
Very interesting. I believe he is a force user not a Jedi or Sith. He definitely could have been a kid that was kidnapped by the Empire. But maybe he escaped and been on his own ever since.
My guess is he was a very young Padawan that went through the trauma of Order 66, so he never became a Jedi yet knows the force. The name he gives may be of his master and not truly his.
#SkeletonCrewRad It definitely is refreshing to have a Star Wars show with thought put into it. They've really done a nice job of setting up elements of mystique throughout so far.
Jod's backstory will likely be used as a mirror for the kids' situation. Ex-youngling who left the Jedi (pre Order 66) at the age these kids are now, because he found the training oppressive. When the kids learn the truth about At Attin, they'll face a similar kind of choice.
I just wish Lucasfilm would admit they got the name "Crimson Jack" from the EU. I don't know why they're so intent on running away from the EU instead of embracing it.
Because KK told the world Star Wars had no comics, novels or books to draw from to excuse her wiping her butt with George’s scripts and shove Rey down our throats so they are very reluctant to continue to draw attention to her incompetence as Lucasfilm head.
I was thinking about how not a lot of the fans agree on much, between both an as objective as possible perspective and a subjective enjoyment perspective... but I actually do think almost every fan would rank Episode 2 as the worst/least enjoyable of the Lucas movies. The other 5, who knows what order they'd rank them in? I actually personally like 3 the most, but I think 5 might be better quality... I'd probably honestly go like 3, 5, 4, 6, 1, 2 in terms of personal favorites, but I bet if we asked like 10,000 fans, idk if even 100 of them would have the same order as me. But I bet less than 100 of them wouldn't put 2 last. I wouldn't even be surprised if only a single digit number ranked 2 higher than last, even if we asked over 100,000.
I think the backstory of him being a Jedi youngling is too easy and boring. Think it would be better that his family spent the early part of his life fleeing the empire because of his force sensitivity and sacrifice themselves saving him, from there he ends up being adopted by a pirate. That could be a plausible reason why he ends up being a pirate.
I think it would be cool if he was a weak force user that the Jedi passed up... what happened to Obi Wan in the old books when he was a kid.. he was the weakest among the children and was passed up to be a padawan by many masters until he was almost to old.. almost had to go home

He’s definitely not a Jedi, but he’s known a Jedi. He was close to one. I don’t want more Order 66. Until more is revealed I imagine it’s something like, he always hated Jedi but then he was imprisoned with one. The Empire wanted them both dead. So he learned that he was gifted with the force spending a year with his Jedi cell mate. The Jedi died but he remembers him by using his name. Cell mate is more piratey
Then why would he pretend to have the force? They're in jail He's in jail He has no reason to lie about how he got out if he can get out. Like I can understand him being a liar and manipulator but at the same time it's so blatant why lie about it like he has nothing to gain to lie to these kids he's never met that he's a Jedi when he could just say I have a way out.
I think KB is force sensitive and the cybernetics are hindering her using it. They’ll track the kids using her headset and she’ll have to take it off revealing she knows how to use the force and Jod will know.
The fact people upvoted this.. Kylo Ren/Ben Solo? Kanan Jarrus? Also, Ezra Bridger is "caucasian" though he's not white. This is such a weird statement...
@@fruitylerlups530 Kylo Ren is a villain, Kanan is a mentor character who died halfway through the final season, and Ezra is middle Eastern. One thing that sets Disney Star Wars apart from the old EU is its ethnically diverse human protagonists, which has a pattern of excluding white males that is especially conspicuous when it comes to background child actors.

Agreed. You can sometimes just tell how much an actor knows about Star Wars by the answers they give... and Jude Law seemed to know and get it.

Thanks, Naboo and Thor! It seems the interview went well, as opposed to many previous interviews with actors and directors.
You're very welcome!

Hearing Jude Law call us loyal fans and telling us that he wants to do right by us makes me loved-almost as much as when I watch The Holiday. ❤🙃😉

No one understood why OSHA kept violating safety standards😅😂😅

Jod is like the only white male force user OG protagonist next to Cal Kestis in Disney Star Wars so far.
