The only diesel powered vehicles in American inventory were training vehicles like tanks held in the US . Yes diesel was better in many ways but the military didn't want to deal with two fuel streams so picked and stuck with gas . Until the Korean war then made the switch to more and more diesel
To the best of knowledge, I believe the Diamond T M20 or "980" (closed cab) and "981" (open cab) were the only as delivered, in-theater, WWII truck to utilize a diesel. They were also designed at the request of the British. I believe Caterpillar and LeTorneau both provided diesel power, but in the form of construction equipment . The M20's were paired with M9 24-wheel trailer to make the M19 Tank Transporter.
Great to see someone giving some TLC to an old U.S. 6ton 6X6 bridge erector truck.
Grazie del commento. Un camion bello e costruito con elementi di pregio.
I drove that monsters in the Belgian army in 1967 / 1968 - Occupation army in Germany during the cold war. They were in service until the late 70 s
Grazie per informazione.
Music ruin the video
Do you have same with engine sound ?
In any video or professional movie there is always music. There will be a reason ...
@@FedericoCentola that is wrong. The engine sound is the music.
@@FedericoCentola only a hack would have music over the engine. I suggest you get your money back from the "college" you went.
Best known as the base vehicle for the DipMobile in “Who Framed Roger Rabbit.”
Still petrol powered? Lots of the heaviest trucks had been "dieseled" during war time.(Hercules or Cummins or even Waukesha)

On préférerais entendre tourner les moteurs plutôt que ces musiques de merde ! Pouquoi toujours nous les imposer ?
