    Wayne is a great success story. When he was 16 he said "hey dad I can sing!" and his dad said "that's great son, hit the road, you can take care of your self now!". I mean it's kind of a Twilight Zone episode, at 16 he was this oddball kid living in dirty roach hotels in Vegas while doing three shows a day for very little money. He stuck with it because no other choice, worked really hard and fate eventually smiled on him. Respect.

    Wayne Newton at his best; relaxed, confident, singing two great songs and delivering the goods. A true American idol.

    What a good presentation and arrangement. Mike 's band imho did a good job. And at least wayne sang it live and not lip sync it like many artists today. Good

    Both songs were Top 10 smashes in my area of the country in 1972 and how special it is to see a young Mr Newton performing these songs at that time. Mike Douglas' band does not do justice to the original recordings so I encourage everyone to purchase the CD: I Believe In Music: Wayne Newton Sings The Hits of The 70s

    Wayne Newton has looked good in every stage of his life from baby to 77 years young. I still like to hear him sing, play the fiddle and entertain us. He has so much energy and a love of life and loves making people happy. I am going to see his show in December 2019 and I know that I will leave with memories that will last my lifetime.

    Wayne is a legend. He is not my taste and that’s ok. I absolutely acknowledge he is a legend. I’m just not sure I’m a fan of Wayne or anyone for that matter, telling me about their record sales in the middle of a live set. A great singer is a great singer. I like a lot of great singers and bands, some of whom aren’t backed by millions of records sold. Like what you like because of how the music makes you feel and not because someone sold a bunch of records.

    • @redarrow6188
      @redarrow6188 2 года назад +1

      you can still hear a bit of his voice from his days in the 60s, especially in the higher notes. in the 70s he wanted to do country and started to sing differently

    I do not dig Wayne Newton very much. His voice is strange as well as his look. Credit to him making it in the business with little looks or voice. Very odd.

      It's hokey. The band sounds like shit, but he's singing live and I'm not hearing any bad notes. So, the million dollars a month he was making in Vegas proves to me that he can sing to save his life,, and many more. Maybe even yours.
