Yes, Furbys are so incredibly loud that I would leave mine mute. I don't think I'd bother trying to disconnect the speaker in mine, though. I'm awful with technology and it's really not worth the risk.
Yeah, some days after the video I was fiddling around with the gearbox and now it's moving again. Just one ear ist not moving. But to be honest, it is horrible to work on Furbys! Nearly as bad as fully automatic coffee machines! 😬
This video should be called, the stunning way to kill a Furby motor, Furby Boom motors die very easily, Especially if you use cheap batteries, or weird brand batteries, which you did. You need to use regular Duracell AA, Not powerboost, just the regular kind, try to look online until you can find the correct kind, You will also have to get A new Motor.
Hi! Thanks for commenting. The motor was not dead, I disassembled the gearbox and put it back together, and the little friend was moving again. More likely my big speaker in this video caused this with its massive magnetic field. Every type AA Battery is around 1.5 V if it is healthy, this def. can't be an issue! 😉
@Schnort Surely, Duracell batteries are excellent! No doubt about it, but I would doubt that other batteries, like cheaper ones, will ultimately kill your Furby. 😜
Do you know if the 2012 Furbys use the same speaker? Mine is from 2012 and it stopped talking, as far as I understand the Furby Booms were a slight improvement on the 2012 ones. I don't have another Furby to replace the speaker.
Hey! I am not an expert in Furby repairs, but I did a quick Google search, and it appears you need a 16R, 0.5W speaker as a replacement. I hope this helps! ✌🏻
@@CanWeFixThat yeah, thank you! Thanks to your guide I was able to disassemble my furby. The problem is that I can't find a speaker of those measurements, so do you think an 8 ohm speaker will work? I'm sure it comes in those musical holiday gift cards.
Sad to see these Furby having these problems like this later on
You can still hear it trying to communicate with other furbys
18:54 that’s the changing personally
Ah, that makes sense! Thank you for pointing that out. 🙌🏻
This is actually really entertaining!
Thank you very much! ;)
I created a silent Furby with one of mine (just an experiment) and i think the 2012 (or Boom) are really cute without voice. 😅
Damnit, that would have saved me some headaches! 😝

@@Schnort It's really simple.
@@MrBlackcandy85 you underestimate how incapable I am.
It seams the motor died on the furby :( sadly booms motors die even NIB so even if you didn’t mess with the speaker the motor would have died later on

@@CanWeFixThat booms are the worst to fix😭 I just let mine rot tho 98s are much more fun and easier!!!!
I have one laying around, but this old one just works! 🥳
@@CanWeFixThat what color do you have? 98 furbys are on of my favorite
@@MeltedCheeriosStudio The grayish one? Hard to explain… ^^
I liked the silent Furby more. 😛

@@CanWeFixThat maybe it's just the placebo effect, but nearly every person who is knowledgeable on Furbys recommends Duracell.

@@CanWeFixThat The fact that it froze and stopped moving means that its motor is dead.
@@CanWeFixThat At the end of the video it was frozen and did not move, meaning that its motor was dead.
Yeah, it’s sad that even 2013 stuff is kind of stopping to work correctly
Thank you for your reply. It is just a shame that QC is in these days much worse than 30 Years ago. 😕
I've always been to nervous to work on the led light eyes furbies and the 2005 ones. The only ones I know how to fix is the 1998s ones
This was my first try, and I have to admit it is quite a pain to work on these Furbies. There is very less room to work on. :-/
I love this so MUCH
Hey Vendettis! Thank you! 😉

@Damn_MrK You could give it a try. But you will find plenty of options on Aliexpress with this search phrase: "16R 0.5w speaker" 🫶
Seems like your furby boom Has the jolly personality.
Can you make a video that how to fix furby when is cover with sand
Hi! Do you mean it was used at a beach and entirely covered with sand?
@@CanWeFixThatprobably dumped in a sandbox
@skibidifurby My approach would be to disassemble it as well as possible and brush it out or use compressed air. ✌🏻

The Problem is he not moving that why it's sounds like that please read this
Dein Englisch ist echt gut! ich hab nicht erkannt das du deutsch bist
Thank you! I do my best 😉
You should try this with a fresh pair of batteries Duracell
The Furby was not moving, because the gearbox had some trouble.
@@CanWeFixThat oh dang then
It didn’t break any motors, it’s just the batteries are low.
Put new battery it will be so much fun
the furby is pretty frozen
My furbies voice keeps glitching and turning off
Hi Sarah, you should check the speaker inside to see if it is damaged or has a loose connection. ✌🏻
@@CanWeFixThat thx 😊
