My switch froze and then when I charged it it started blue screen I thought all hope was lost until I brang it back to life this morning
Great! But remember that it could still fail in the future anyway after this treatment. 💪🏻

The only proper repair would be to completely reball the SoC, which needs special gear. :-/
My controller looks different internally and a piece for the triggers broke where it connects with the ribbon. I tried to solder it back on but it now gives me a flashing orange light do u think you can help it would be very appreciated because parents won’t let me get another
@zynie4627 Hey Zynie! Have you checked the connections with the multimeter to be 100% sure that your repaired traces are working as they should? 🪛
my guess is the reason for the 3 caps is lower ESR than a single cap

Do you know if the 2012 Furbys use the same speaker? Mine is from 2012 and it stopped talking, as far as I understand the Furby Booms were a slight improvement on the 2012 ones. I don't have another Furby to replace the speaker.
Hey! I am not an expert in Furby repairs, but I did a quick Google search, and it appears you need a 16R, 0.5W speaker as a replacement. I hope this helps! ✌🏻
@@CanWeFixThat yeah, thank you! Thanks to your guide I was able to disassemble my furby. The problem is that I can't find a speaker of those measurements, so do you think an 8 ohm speaker will work? I'm sure it comes in those musical holiday gift cards.
@Damn_MrK You could give it a try. But you will find plenty of options on Aliexpress with this search phrase: "16R 0.5w speaker" 🫶
I'd just use a cable to ceep it in place, the blue tech might be still required for the right high and that it's not angeled And I'd just cut the ribbon and scrape it to become conductiv again.

its sad you cant use the original charging dock with it since you removed the metal parts on the sides. those are really useful if the charger stops working all together and you dont want to open it up. good video 👍
Unfortunately, I was not aware of this at the time. Maybe cutting just the middle part and securing the metal parts for the charger is possible. It could be a space problem, but it is worth a try! 🤓

This thing is definitely not repairable 😂 I had a power supply from my lawnmower. It was also full of epoxy resin or jelly 😅
But to be honest, that is way better than the Philips Hue Outdoor lamps, which get killed by condensation 🤣

thanks for the detailed video! i have the same unit with same issue and same burn marks on the pcb, i have read all the thread on sonos community forums about this common issue, unfortunately in my case i replaced the 3 caps, bridge rectifier, fuse and also bridged a cable from cap+ to bridge rectifier+ and i get all the same readings as you, but as soon as i plug the board in, i get a big bang and the fuse will pop 😬, i checked for shorts everywhere else and it looks fine but im lost now! any change you have a list of what voltage outputs this psu will provide? in the video you only have the 2 first pins with 5v shown ! im thinking of replacing the psu with something else!
Hi! Mhhh, I can really feel your pain: I hate PSUs! :D They are a nightmare to repair - at least for me. You could definitely “skip” the PSU and use a simple power supply that outputs the right voltage and solder it directly to the corresponding points on the motherboard. I did this in my debut video on this channel with a SONOS PLAY:1. But be warned, that video is really crappy, but hey, it was my very first video 😜

I'm going to test if this is possible with regular gba as well. I've copied the video tutorial posted by gamboy custom, but there's a problem with the Bluetooth module not turning on like someone else said. So I'm going to use gba link port to power it up like you did in the video. The key is whether the link port of gba is the same as the link port of gba sp.
Hi Yoake! Thank you very much for your feedback. I want to point out that I have NOT used the link port to power this project. I explained at the end of the video why this was not possible. You will also see in the GitHub repo that I used another test point for that. Long story short: the voltage differs when you play a GBA or GB Classic game, due to specifications. I hope that helps! ;)

@YoakeZet Are you 100% sure about that? I just found out by measuring a bunch of the test points to find one that fits my needs. But I have not checked the GBA Classic variant.⬤
@@CanWeFixThat I ordered a multimeter machine for testing. But I saw retrosix wiki and it says that 5v is formed on the second pin on the lower left side of the power regulator of the gba. But I don't know if I can solder the 5v terminal of the Bluetooth module to the power regulator. It's a power regulator, so I don't know what the problem will be with the gba if I draw the power of the bt module from there. I'm a non-major in this field, so I don't know the details, but it's just my guess.

I love CD‘s for music. It is one way you got to keep the music you bought for ever and you actually got to hold it in your hands. Imagine if internet or all music services went down you still got to listen to your CD‘s when ever you want and there was no limitations to how many times you could listen to it. Hi Dylan! The idea was to remove the proprietary connector and make it compatible with USB-C to take charge.

with the motor faulty like this, can one still turn the key, i.e. from outside the door?
@wolfberlin It is possible, but you’ll be turning the engaged motor with the gears, which creates a lot of resistance. It’s not something you should do on a regular basis.

lol that damaged screen almost looks like it has a kiss on it! This version of the gameboy advance is still my favourite comfort wise, but lord do I miss the advance's sp screen whenever I try to use one of these again!

Came across your channel recently and have came back to your videos for learnjng different things. I have a question. Do you know of a 6 pin type c breakout board with 2 spots for the 5.1 surface mount resistors? Trying to put one in my 3ds and make it able to do c to c charging as well as a to c charging. I have found some that others have built specifically for the 3 ds but they get rather expensive if doing more than one
