The line "there's a little kicking" (in football) in the George Washington sketch is so mundane, but Nate's delivery of it was one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
I was shocked at how funny that Weights and Measurements sketch was. The timing between Keenan and Nate's lines, with the crowd in between - everything just lands exactly where it needed to.
@@reizig the timing is impeccable! That's what I was thinking when Nate was describing how it wasn't that great during rehearsal, but they got the timing down just right for the live show.
I can't wait to see Nate on SNL again. He is in my Top 5 SNL hosts. He killed it. Love his comedy specials and his podcast, and looking forward to his Christmas Variety Special at the Grand Old Opry in December. Always room for more Nate!
The George Washington sketch was an instant SNL classic. Probably the best sketch I've seen on the show in years, and up there with More Cowbell and "What's up with that?"
I'm an ESL teacher in Spain. I showed to G.W. sketch to teach them our crazy measurements, but the humor didn't translate. I LOVED it tho!! PS the metric system is so sane😂
I've watched the Washington sketch 5 times at least...so funny. Also his monologue was hilarious. That entire snl episode was great all the way through. I can see why they're having him back bc most of the time it's so hit or miss.
Even my brother who doesn't really like SNL (at least for the last 20 years or so) loves when Nate hosts and especially the George Washington skit! I love how deadpan Nate is during the sketch! No way anyone else could have pulled it off and have it be that funny!
Without a doubt that George Washington sketch got more play time on my laptop than anything. I send it to people I said to my family come her, watch this. It was hysterical. And I loved the 2nd one equally.
I remember the week after he last hosted a bunch of us Nateland fans were saying “that’s one that was thrown away from last week“ guessing which sketches were throw aways.
I loved the Washington's sketch, it was so funny, one of the best sketch! And Nate Bargatze? You should get the colour blind glasses! They work and you could see all kinds of colours you never did before!
OOOHH SNAP… just watched the SNL for his second time hosting. I was sure it would have no way to live up. He freaking CRUSHED IT agin. SNL is in fire for the 50th! Jean Smart KILLED it too!!! New writers??!!
I show that sketch from SNL at the start of the school year when we learn about metric conversions. I think it’s hilarious. My students? Some of them get it. Nate’s timing is impeccable. He really is the modern day Bob Newhart.
@@blackcatcrochet I think Seth has bronchitis and that's not really contagious. Plus he is recovering. If he was going to be contagious it would've been last week. But I worry about the same kinds of things, lol. Don't let these Neanderthals make you feel bad about being so considerate. They probably didn't wear masks during Covid either. Cretans.
That George Washington sketch is one of the most clever skits ever". It’s brilliant. I thought it was Ryan Gosling & just found out it was Nat Bergatze., I didn’t see it live, only on RUclips Tube afterwards.
The GW sketch, one of SNL's all-time greats. Watching it play out the first time I kept thinking to myself..."this is so good...this is soooo good". Watched SNL back in the 70's and 80's, but it became pretty 'meh' to me. Then in the last 20= year too political and/or polarizing and seemed harsher, spiteful and cutting than actually funny. But I tuned in to see Nate and was really impressed with the writing. The GW and the Soul Food Cooking are my favs.
Your voice is something out of my nightmares... here I am trying to enjoy a convo between two greats and now I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight
The George Washington skit is one of the best comedic bits of any format that I've ever seen. Perfectly written and delivered.
His deadpan delivery makes it.
Its just his onstage act
I agree 100% I feel like he’s a natural on SNL . I’ve loved his comedy for years and am so happy he’s made it to SNL
The Washington sketch truly IS the PERFECT SKETCH. I've watched it 20 times and it's still funny every time. Excellent.
I don't like SNL but even I think that sketch is brilliant
Same. I watch it every time I just need to laugh.
Outstanding sketch!
“There’s a little kicking.”
@@Kyle_Psometimes 1, sometimes 3
the george washington sketch has been continuously funny after repeated watches in my house. so it has legs! love Nate! bravo!
There's a little kicking
Saw his name and thought to come here to say the same! I keep that sketch too when I needed a good laugh 😆
Same!
It deserves a sequel about the Electoral College
Yes, exactly what I was going to say!!
That George Washington sketch is one of my all-time favs from SNL.
The line "there's a little kicking" (in football) in the George Washington sketch is so mundane, but Nate's delivery of it was one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
He's funny without seeming to try...easy to listen to, funny, makes it all look natural.
Tip: "mundane" means like "boring" or "common". Not " hilarious ". Keep increasing that vocab!!
@@Coover90210 Tip: That's exactly what they were saying. Keep increasing that reading comprehension!
Nobody else could’ve pulled it off.
My favorite is when he says "Nobody knows" a few times in the sketch. It's so true lol.
Impossible 😊
Yes, that is killer delivery! And the perfect dead silence whenever Kenan’s character asks about freedom for blacks 😂
Nate’s been a fantastic comedian for years. And his sketch winning the cooking show is one of my all-time favorites!
“You’re right,I’m sorry” (:
Hahaha that's hilarious, this guy is the most unfunny douchebag I've ever seen, how do they even allow him to say he's a "comedian"? 🙄
couldn’t agree harder
Sorry
@@Tonyhouse1168 I usually watch the Washington sketch and then follow it up with the cooking show sketch. Both are brilliant and hilarious!

It's a slow burn it starts off really unimpressive if you haven't seen Nate bargatze before but then it just becomes insanely funny
It was hilarious!
I absolutely loved Nate (&company) Revolutionary War skit on SNL. I'll re-watch it from time to time, it's the best
The new one they did is up on RUclips!
I loved his George Washington sketch on SNL so much!!
Nate is my favorite!! He did so well hosting last time. Can't wait to see him do it again! Can't believe nobody realized he's colorblind 😂

I liked the Washington sketch but Soul Food was my favorite. "I'm sorry."
Don't forget Hallmark Horror. That one cracked me up.
same!!
Your George Washington skit is HILARIOUS!
The George Washington sketch will go down in SNL history as one of the best of all time.
Absolutely!
Definitely one of the most clever in the history of SNL and he plays it perfectly.
The timing is unbelievably beautiful. Imagine the amount of time he’s spent perfecting it.. awesome !
one of my favorite comedians!!
Wow! Nate Bargatze hosting a second time this soon after the first time!! That is excellent!❤🎉
Have rewatched the George Washington sketch quite a bit. Cracks me up😂
♡ him! Washington was brilliant.
I love the GW skit too. Man reading the comments its like the same compliment over and over I love it

Hands down the best episode last season
Luv Nate Bargatze!

5:26 THIS is why comedians can be the best guests on SNL. They respect timing of jokes.
Mostly yea but there have been a decent amount of actors who have done a great job as well
Ima have to go watch this GW sketch! 🏃♂️
Everyone talking about the Washington sketches but the golf one he did was by far his funniest one 🤣
My 6th grader said they showed the george Washington sketch in class😅
“We’ll call 12 a dozen.” “Are there any other words we’ll use for numbers?” “None”
Nate is the best. 😂😂

i still think about that washington sketch like semi-weekly
Minor correction: Auguste White also helped write Washington’s Dream, alongside Streeter and Mikey!!
Love me some Nate!!!
I love Seth’s sick voice!

Waiting for Mudpuddle to release their next single! Lake Beach was great.

I loved the the Cooking Show sketch

I'm worried about every guest he pulls in for a full on hug knowing he's sick right now. Nate has to do Saturday night live 3 days.

everyone talking about washington, but the "Lake Beach" song hit home for the tennessee folks
Did anyone else become a fan of his stand-up after seeing Nate host SNL?
I did
Glad to hear Nate's got his own jackals working to make him better
So many people were sure he wrote the Washington`s sketch.
If snl sticks to sketches like this, they could get back on track
More Washington!

what sketch was he talking about with Heidi?
Man John Goblikon has really straightened up as a host
There’s a little kicking…
You asked about the temperature?
No one knows. Impossible.

I thought it was Vanessa Bayer ( SNL) for a second 😏😏
How can I get the gig of cue card girl??
Imo, he’s pretty funny. Believe Meyers introduces him as Dave here
GW original blew me away, seemed like they coasted or got crunched a bit on the second one, but they did use a lot of the low hanging fruit already!
This was one of the best episodes. The worst thing this episode was from Andy Samberg. The actual sketches were almost all winners.
"Sir, do you mean that the slaves will be freed after this war?"
"....... after A war."
Get this man a Five Timers jacket already
As good as the George Washington sketch was, Lake Beach was even better.
LAKE BEACH!
Nate has a better hair cut this time around.
Its wild to me that, that guy from College Humor who used to do pranks is now a head writer at SNL.
who?

What's the sketch Nate wanted to get through the second time?!
In what sketch did he read Heidi's line?

I am an adult. No children look to me for guidance. Why am I getting hit HARD
?
Please don't do another Washington sketch, it was too perfect for a sequel.
They already did 2 of them
Seth…Stop touching guests when you have a cold.
He started the monologue by explaining that he’s over his cold 😂
There was no cold, only cold play.
I mean if his hands are clean and he refrains from coughing directly at his guest are something I think he's ok
I hope this comment gets on corrections
It's just a cold. You act like it's the flu or worse 🤣

That's how good he was. Also, he's hot right now and this is year 50 so they are going all out.
