Honestly, I think they might do the Stepford Loop again, since… what other reasons would they represent Metro with an O. Also, I think Metro is separate from the other operators since British Rail doesn’t own metros, Metro’s new font compliments that. I also believe that Metro might actually be called Stepford Metro, since the name Metro is not at all specific, Dwelly McDweller the Lump of Potassium.
British Rail does have a few metro-style systems across it though - heavy rail intended to be operated similar to a metro. Merseyrail is the biggest example, but lots of operators like Southern, Southeastern, London Overground etc. have metro service patterns
I think that line of trees could be where an on-ground section could be. It would probably go through that tunnel at 4:42 as well! It seems so weird that that is a nicely built tunnel with a road going over it but nothing going under it. The grass platforms and the house at 4:49 seem very isolated, so that seems like where a Metro-exclusive station could be
I honestly think that the Stepford Loop is going to be added when metro comes out. Why? I have 2 reasons. One is more speculative one is less. 1 In its current state SV has alot of platforms. One of the reasons modern day SV has 6 platforms is because of the legacy plans to have Metro and High Speed terminate/pass here. 2 This one is a little more speculative. The new Metro logo is an O thats supposed to represent a train line with two tracks. This could mean that the Metro map will include a circular line that has clockwise and anticlockwise service. Plus the devs know very well that if all that this hyped up update is just a network rebrand with some new trains people will be disappointed. In my opinion not opening any new branch would kinda be a shot in the foot.

It could lighten up the stepford town area, cuz if theres some surb surface running or aditional loops it will 1 improve scenery as more trains and lines are going through the city, aswell as creating more reasons to go throughout more of stepford, aswell as expanding stepford scenery itself, as theres a preatty good degree of fleshing out the landscape untill it becomes void On the map: if you wanna see how stuff behaves, or how the trains would behave visit the NEC new york to Philadelphia game from amaerican railfan studios, ita more because the IRL route is so ungodly long and ingame already scaled down as far as possible, but at each end it jitters like crazy
The logo being a circle doesn’t mean it won’t have branches off it could have a branch off the logo being a circle likely means the loop is the main area
What I personally think will happen is the increasing of distances between current Stepford Connect stations and then metro will have more frequent stops in-between, and many an new line and a city tunnel or something like that

Ever since I found out about the metro sneak peeks I’ve been coming up with several theories. Here is my most current version: Metro will run from Stepford UFC and Berrily before dipping below the surface and converging at High Street which will be fully underground (New Harrow, Elsemere Pond and Whitefield Lido will all be exclusively served by Metro in this scenario). The lines will continue to run underground calling at Stepford East, Stepford Central and possibly a new station between them) until City Hospital (also moved underground) where it will go above ground and stay like that, branching off to Stepford Victoria and Willowfield. Beyond Hemdon Park there may also be a branch replacing the line of trees and terminating at Whitefield calling at 3 or 4 intermediate stops. What will probably happen west of SC is that Metro will exclusively serve many of the stations but SV, Beechly and Willowfield could still be served by the reigonal Connect routes that already go there. Past SV the Stepford Loop May still go ahead but University station will have to be called something else because WCR already has a station called University. In this situation many Connect routes would be transferred to Metro or be removed from the game. What do you think?
The class 777 can be either the 777/0 variant, which uses third rail, or could use the 777/1 which uses a battery instead for unelecteified lines. Its Also worth mentioning that the last/recent sneak peak with the class 777 and its number 777025 which, in theory( my own one ), could be released sometime between 2nd, 3rd or 7th of july 2025(this is due to the number 7 itself). Something that people didn't noticed yet
I don't think that's right at all. Updates tend to release when they're ready, and the directors are pretty clear on releasing as and when asap rather than waiting for a specific date Pretty sure the train number just represents 2025 anyway
If I was to take a guess, I’d actually say it’ll go from Willowfield, done the line of trees, meet another line from Whitefield and head towards Stepford. From there, go underground to connect with Central and Victoria, adding a few new underground stations, before coming back above ground and heading off and meeting waterline at Greenslade. We will see though!

I propose extending the metro line from Whitefield to Stepford UFC, utilizing the existing terminal platform. Connect services could move from the terminal to Whitefield, with express trains running from Stepford UFC to Stepford East. There should be only metro stations between Stepford East and Stepford UFC. I suggest upgrading Beechley Station and extending the terminal platform to run underneath the tracks along the river, adding a few stations to an unnamed location. Additionally, Willowfield could be expanded by two to three stations, with one new station added before branching off to serve a nearby town that currently lacks a station. and for the last thing services connect train's will not terminate at Beechley or Stepford UFC and extend to Whitefield and Willowfield and maybe have a brand new station between Hamden park to Beechley
I think metro should run all the way to Whitefield side by side with connect and connect will skip all stops expect Whitefield lido, UFC, and Whitefield basically being the express of metro

This is what I put together. The reason why I feel like Metro got picked over the sleeper because at this point in time, the games are getting overcrowded. The sever have been updated to handle up to 40 and 50 people that are all spawning in the Stepford region mainly because that’s what everybody’s used to, so what’s better to relieve that a metro system and I feel like that why they bought metro back on to help it might go to Stepford Central low-level and then have underground stops and branch out outside in the outer regions of Stepford County, but in the Central city, I’ll believe it will be underground. Probably a loop. also on top of that, I hope that some trains get added back on the metro like. 465 or 319 but since SER is fictional, I do believe that they should add their first fictional train, which should be the class 341 from the CrossCity plan and move it over for the metro plan which wouldn’t be bad

Maybe there’ll be 3 lines - A north/south line named the Southern Line (because the Northern Line name is overused), starting somewhere north of the map and ending in Berrily - A west/east line named the City Line, starting at the CBD and ending in Harrow - And a circle line named…the Circle Line…surprised right? Anyways, it’ll serve Central and Victoria on the eastern edge and perhaps Willowfield on the western edge with stations in Beachley and the CBD And there you have it, the Stepford Metro with 3 lines: - Circle Line - City Line - Southern Line All 3 can meet at Central.
the signalling system is key, using aws/tpws makes it highly unrealistic whilst i do understand that its used on merseyrail, i mean come on. Merseyrail is a more of a 'railway' type company rather than a 'metro' system. What i would expect is something along the lines of ETCS, which would suit it very well. Etcs still uses coloured signals, so it wont be much of a hassle, it could also potentially introduce ATO or Protected Manual. Another one which I least expect to come to metro would be CBTC. Whilst it is still used on the elizabeth line, it would be more complicated as even the 777 has no ato functions.
i would say whitefild branch will be connect and metro, cause if we search metro in google it says: "an underground electric railway system in some cities". So so i think for whitefield branch, a metro line will be underground and dont take over connect.
I get on the class 555 metro everyday during the week as they’re is only 2 in service serving the yellow line but I’m in the green line so I get off at south gosforth and switch metros but just saying it’s such an amazing experience as they’re are releasing phase by phase so maybe the next metros releasing in service will serve the green line who knows! (The metros that are in service and that I got on are 555021,555020.)
I think they will add underground stations, because it’s a metro operator, my next prediction is that SCR will bring Coxly Newtown back, and my final prediction is that they’ll add low level stations at Stepford central or Benton
My Prediction: Willowfield & Victoria branches will be shared by connect & Metro. But the section that goes between Financial Quarter and Beechley will be a metro exclusive... Expect Willowfield to be overhauled with through tracks and willowfield depot to be relocated and be used to spawn connect and Metro. A loop will be done with SC, SV & Willowfield included in it. And SC will be the terminus for a single line that goes SOUTH of Downtown Stepford.

8:20 doubt we'd see both 555 and 994 as those aren't third rail like the 777s and metro lines usually only have one way of power. If anything I can see TFL Rail stock like the class 315, 345, 378, 507/8 or 710.

Sleeper would be impossible to do, you would need to play for like 9 hours or more
We don’t need sleeper, none of the devs ever planned to add sleeper
aka the reason why they chose metro was bcuz they wanted to 💀

Hempdon park, on the whitefield line, has recently been upgraded. I have my doubts about metro going there.

Whitefiled going to metro could be possible as it was supposed to be 3rd rail line in 1.8 update (according to Matty's video), and metro will be 3rd rail by the looks of it (as 777 is 3rd rail irl)
Class 777 also runs on battery power too but I don't think that will be in use
METRO HERE WE COME
Maybe there’ll be 3 lines
- A north/south line named the Southern Line (because the Northern Line name is overused), starting somewhere north of the map and ending in Berrily
- A west/east line named the City Line, starting at the CBD and ending in Harrow
- And a circle line named…the Circle Line…surprised right? Anyways, it’ll serve Central and Victoria on the eastern edge and perhaps Willowfield on the western edge with stations in Beachley and the CBD
And there you have it, the Stepford Metro with 3 lines:
- Circle Line
- City Line
- Southern Line
All 3 can meet at Central.
I think that's a bit much for one update lol, but maybe there'll be multiple lines in the future, who knows

the signalling system is key, using aws/tpws makes it highly unrealistic whilst i do understand that its used on merseyrail, i mean come on. Merseyrail is a more of a 'railway' type company rather than a 'metro' system. What i would expect is something along the lines of ETCS, which would suit it very well. Etcs still uses coloured signals, so it wont be much of a hassle, it could also potentially introduce ATO or Protected Manual. Another one which I least expect to come to metro would be CBTC. Whilst it is still used on the elizabeth line, it would be more complicated as even the 777 has no ato functions.
I do think it'll be 'railway' type, like Merseyrail or London Overground
I would like to see Ffion park make a return as a metro station on the stepford loop

i would say whitefild branch will be connect and metro, cause if we search metro in google it says: "an underground electric railway system in some cities". So so i think for whitefield branch, a metro line will be underground and dont take over connect.
It would be easiest if Metro just took over the Connect branches wholesale. We can hope for more, but this is SCR we are talking about
I get on the class 555 metro everyday during the week as they’re is only 2 in service serving the yellow line but I’m in the green line so I get off at south gosforth and switch metros but just saying it’s such an amazing experience as they’re are releasing phase by phase so maybe the next metros releasing in service will serve the green line who knows! (The metros that are in service and that I got on are 555021,555020.)
I think metro, would be run via stepford loop, just like on subway system in Glasgow.

I think they will add underground stations, because it’s a metro operator, my next prediction is that SCR will bring Coxly Newtown back, and my final prediction is that they’ll add low level stations at Stepford central or Benton
My Prediction:
Willowfield & Victoria branches will be shared by connect & Metro. But the section that goes between Financial Quarter and Beechley will be a metro exclusive... Expect Willowfield to be overhauled with through tracks and willowfield depot to be relocated and be used to spawn connect and Metro. A loop will be done with SC, SV & Willowfield included in it. And SC will be the terminus for a single line that goes SOUTH of Downtown Stepford.
I hope there’s more stations like James Street it’s my favorite

8:20 doubt we'd see both 555 and 994 as those aren't third rail like the 777s and metro lines usually only have one way of power. If anything I can see TFL Rail stock like the class 315, 345, 378, 507/8 or 710.

Also i think the class 455/456 could suit metro because it serves the kingston loop around london waterloo on the south western mainline. It runs on third rail so it cant suit waterline or connect.

I think making everything west of Stepford Central is a bad idea. The network could be expanded west out of Victoria, past Financial Quarter, to make a "western half" of the map.
