About All In The Family:
One of the most acclaimed comedy series of all time, All in the Family with Archie Bunker as the irascible, highly opinionated, working-class family man who viewed the world on his terms and his terms only. When not arguing with his liberal son-in-law, "Meathead," Archie took refuge in his long-suffering wife, Edith, who tries her best to understand Archie's conservative ways and outdated beliefs.

It was the only show that my whole family watched together. LOL. Over 50 years later and still nothing compares
I agree. Although my family admired the leading character and could not see the satire. They literally admired him. I liked it because they were all such strong actors and they always skillfully went for laughs and drama. Excellent writing, too.
I love the loving relationship between them all, especially between Mike and his mother-in-law, Edith. And Archie and Gloria.❤😂❤
I love All In The Family. My favorite sitcom ever. ❤
Cause she knows Archie is going to blow a gasket 😂😂
And he does, big time
I love all in the family my favorite sitcom ever 📺📺📺📺📺🥰🥰❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
Doing dishes “together” Gloria’s style would be my favorite way…
How can you leave out the best part of Archie’s reaction to that photo. The comic genius of Carroll on full display giving us just a still a shot with his eyes above the newspaper.
It's not Edith who has the problem with Lionel dating Archie's niece Linda. It's Archie himself. Boy did he blow a gasket when he realized those two were just dancing! 😄 In Archie's mind, not only can you not date or marry outside of your race you can't even dance with someone of a different race.
But Lionel is a electic engineer. lol. I love this show since I was a kid.
It takes generations to get rid of that racism. My parents were the same way about dating black folks, but i did anyway. Even as open as i am, i still needed years to adjust and realize that there was nothing wrong with it, it is not even a little bit wrong, and even tho i was ok with it all, i just wasnt 100. But I am glad to have evolved like i did !!
@@Mister_Listener That's just the way it is here in the US. Race has always been seen as a big issue especially since there were anti miscegenation laws in many states up until the late 1960s. It wasn't until Loving v. Virginia where they decided to repeal the ban on interracial marriage. Even now race is still sort of seen as a big issue. The only difference is that it's not black/minority vs white anymore. It's minority vs minority. Because I'm ½ black/½ white, certain people tell me not to even think about dating or marrying an Asian man because of my black side. I had to end a couple friendships because of this. But if I was romantically interested in a non Asian man such as a black or white man that's okay. Part of it has to do with how western society especially American society tends to look down on Asians. In my case because I'm not a fully white woman, some people feel I can only be interested in Asian culture but have to marry a non Asian western man. This type of mindset is pathetic. 😒🙄
The Greatest Generation (my grandparents) had a lot to process in their lives. Thankfully, in my experience with them and others of their age, they handled the changes to their world with grace, understanding, and kindness, like Edith. I miss them all very much.
I hope they post this episode to RUclips. 😊
SitTING ON THE COOOOUUUUUCCCCCCHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
.
This is what's going on..... AND THIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSS IS WHAT'S GOING OOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!
LMAO!!
That little dance Archie does when he says that before slamming the picture on his chair still never fails to make me crack up 50 years later! No matter how many times I see it!
I love dancing, dating different races, I could never be like Archie Bunker.
Sally was such a cutie. I have seen her twice at Ralph’s in Hollywood and i almost said something to her. Next time i see her i will say “i love your work.”

Funny Episode!😂
This is greatest show of all time
This should been full episode
This is yet another inconsistency in the series. Edith claims that her father died a year before she met Archie. But yet, Archie claims to have known him. During one conversation with Mike who was talking about Edith's father and to which Archie replies Mike never even knew him, Archie described Edith's father as a man "with no chin and a 'go funny' eye."
In fairness, Edith isn't always portrayed as the most reliable narrator when it comes to details about the past...
Those inconsistencies happened a lot "back in the day" Also with other sitcoms but we just understood it was fictional anyway and adjusted to it. We just enjoyed them for what they were. But it would have been better otherwise.
@@Robert-hz9bj True, but I really enjoy here stories. Especially when Archie does his pantomime where he pretends to commit suicide as she tells them! 😂
@@user-yi1zv4ds3y Yes, I know they did. But one would think given Norman Lear's genius as a creator, he would have been more consistent.
Some examples are in the first season, Archie's parents, Sara and David, are still alive and had visited the year prior. Then, all of a sudden, they were dead with no explanation.
Still another is when they went to Edith's high school reunion and a man tries to guess who Archie is and Archie tells him he did not go to school there and was only there with Edith. Yet, when Bummie and Delores Fensel come for dinner, they all went to high school together including Edith. Because Archie was dating Edith but had sex with Delores in the dugout of the baseball field when Edith was away in Atlantic City.
@@retroguy9494wow you know your stuff. I would have cast Edith’s sister Gertrude with Dena Deitrich!!
That's not a full episode
I think Lionel and Linda make a cute coupal‼️🤗🤗🤗🤗♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Lorakendall4940, I agree with you 100%.
