You are making your Dad the proudest man on earth (except for me, thanks to my Son & Daughter ;) but I'm so jealous you went for it, I'm a pro musician, songs on iTunes, rock/funk/blues/reggae guitarist and backing harmony vocals, have four albums out and about 450 shows and my kids COULD NOT CARE LESS!! I could have taught them everything I knew but they literally don't even care to listen to my songs or watch my videos of my live shows playing to thousands (not all the time but maybe 7 out of the 450 lol) But I gotta say I am beaming for your father. Your voice is amazing and I never thought Heart could be sung by anyone but Ann.. and her soul literally merged with yours.. your vibrato is so soothing and every song you sing makes my days growing up come flooding back.. I swear the 80's and early 90's bore the best rock music ever written IMO.. 70's were laying an amazing foundation and an amazing era but I say I got lucky - and I couldn't do anything but dream of doing the same. I picked up the guitar at 16 (late!) and self-taught, family very much against it.. but first live paying gig was when I turned 19, had to lie about my age for years to play... ah, thanks for letting me bathe in lake ME for a moment but trust me when you get to be my age you never get it out your blood.. play every show as if it were your last.. that's what I did and it served me so well and luckily the gifts from the music gods showered down.. I didn't get past touring CA and having LA management, few albums a bunch of shows but it fulfilled my dream and then some.. not at your level.. so impressed and it's a joy to listen to you and watch you perform.. such amazing taste in music !!
