@Kings_ Walker You shouldn't be saying your age on a public media platform, there are strangers online, and there are dangers of posting you're personal information online. Please be cautious
This piece is truly amazing. I have just learned this piece and Barenboim inspired me to learn this in 2 months. One of the best concert pianists in our time, PROBABLY THE BEST!!!!
I loved his way of expressing his works of Beethoven, the beat is great and the tone that da.me glad to see such wonderful hands and nimble, thanks for being able hear you. Sevilla awaits you master
+Henry Kim Ofc it is, to be honest, we wouldn't be able to play fast things without the muscle memory, it's super important! But if your muscles memorize wrong things it's hard to change it, that's the problem.
IMO, this entire sonata is brilliant. It has the emotional intensity of his Pathetique onwards era without the self-importance. I'm not saying it's better than his middle/later era (of course it's < Appassionata etc) but it's underrated.
I am learning this piece as well, and it is certainly one of my favorite Beethoven sonatas. I just love the section in the first movement from 2:48 to 3:30. The changes in dynamics that Barenboim makes in this performance are what separates it from the rest on youtube.
Gabi , same as me , I love all of Beethoven’s song , it’s calm but sometimes exciting . Like Presto Alla Tedasca , Moonlight Sonata and also this piece . I also like Bach’s , Chopin’s , Mozart’s piece and my favorite …… BEETHOVEN!!!!!
Hey, that´s nice! I´m also working on this sonata. I think the part after repeating is quite difficult. Witch part you think is most difficult? Barenboims performance is beautiful, indeed. Especially the second movement.
ummmmmm are you crazy? There's feeling all over the place. Barenboim is very compassionate about this piece, and you can see that in both his risky, yet successful experimentation of timing and greatly varied feelings.
Umm... the most credit should go to Barenboim, but if "good job" refers to posting this video/recording - which is very high quality in video and sound, I'll admit - good job:).
Holy cow, good luck! Kudos to you for trying such a difficult piece at such a young age. It means you have courage, and that will take you far. I am sixteen and learning this sonata for my college auditin =)
@@spoiledeggnog successful :) Thanks for asking! I’ve already got three majors between my two bachelor degrees and am currently in a masters program. 🎶 🎶 🎶
@@wishingonthemoon1 wow! that’s phenomenal to hear! thank you for taking the time to reply back 10 years later. it’s quite inspirational to hear that as i am 15 learning this sonata (about to turn 16) and although i’m not auditioning currently, i hope it will serve me well as i might pursue a career in music! (still on the fence about that)
@@spoiledeggnog You’re welcome and thanks! Remember that you can always change your major, do a double major, or do a minor. There are tons of options, and you can still do music as an extra-curricular, but you can also do it as a major and minor in something else if you’d feel more comfortable. Your masters is where you really start to focus. Use your bachelors for figuring things out; it’s not written in stone. I wish you could luck whatever you do!
I play this on the piano, but the thriller at 2:51-2:54 are very difficult... I don't know, how I can play it (P.S.I'm German, sorry, if it isn't right...:)) Does somebody can help???I tried it slower, but fast it isn't good:(
Make sure that you are have identified the different voices and are practicing them separately. While doing so, practice each voice slowly and focus on that specific section without moving on. Then, very slowly, increase the speed. I hope this helps! (even if you said this 2 years ago) :)
Everyone has their own interpretations for Beethoven. Beethoven piano pieces is the easiest yet, the hardest pieces because it has all the things written down like the articulation and anything but his music has very deep stuff. BTW, theyre not even sure if some notes are natural or sharp because the music is very old

i play this piece, and the thing is I could not my tempo steady and always speed up in the second movement..... otherwise, this piece is really easy to play.
You say "easy to say" ... But do you realize that slow pieces are far more complicated than fast ones? Because you have to control each note. This is absolutely not easy to play "well" ;)
The second movements starts at 4:16 for anyone looking for it!
I am playing this piece for my piano competition and everyday before I practice I listen to Barenboim play it.

Wonderful!!! I just started this piece and hearing it really helps. Barenboim plays it VERY well with great expression.
The music of a genius played by a genius.
Guess I am a genius then…I am playing it
You are just like Beethoven , Beethoven must hear it !!

No. 2 is played in the movie “Zookeepers Wife.” Great film with this wonderful music. Royce
The second movement sounds so organic. Love it.
Wow. I'm was struggling to practice this piece for the audition until I heard this, mega improvement! That's how good he is!!
I am preparing this song for my piano exam like in 2 years ( this is only one of them)
Barenboim plays this so beautifully
it's because i have other songs to memorize. i think i havae like 18 or 14 i forgot
+LaserDestroyer 1 Why memorize when you have the skill of muscle memory!

Also less than the Waldstein. That is my favorite.
Magnifique interprétation. Technique parfaite au service de l'expression. Parfait !

What a brutal cut...
This is awesome!
Listening to the Adagio....lost in how gorgeous it sounds....and then boom it ends before he finishes the final phrase.
magnificent!
wonderful!!!
barenboim is just so touched with beethoven--THERE MADE 4 EACHOTHER!

Bears comparison (1st movement) with Mozart’s great c - minor songs. The second movement is really the best part of this sonata.

im usually not a huge barenboim fan but he plays the early beethoven sonatas very well
I hope I'm able to play it like this at my audition. Although I highly doubt it.
very good playing pretty good audio.
imo the op.2 by Murray Perahia are the gold standard.
This is Awesome! Not only does he has piano influences on me but also on the cello. With his wife, Jacqueline Du Pre. May she rest in peace.
this man knows how to handle Beethoven.
Barenboim is the best Beethoven interpreter for me!
it does? cool! I will try it!
I played this at a recital at about this speed (1st movement that is)
4:15 Adagio
Thanks dude
yeah.
