  • After two years of legal wrangling, former Malaysian prime minister Najib Razak has lost his final appeal.
The federal court has upheld his conviction and 12-year jail term on charges related to the multi-billion dollar 1MDB corruption scandal.
The 69-year-old was found guilty in July 2020 of criminal breach of trust, abuse of power, and money laundering.
Southeast Asia correspondent Anne Barker says the decision is a long time coming.
