- About 6 months ago, when the summer was winding down, and the ocean was warm, Tan Bui and I went after the party boat flukes. 2 Half Day Fluke/Seabass trips aboard the 7B's went about as usual, I had a poor performance in the morning but came back strong in the afternoon once I tied up a rig that the fish seemed to like. Tan started strong but fizzled as the day went on.

What I find hilarious is you are the only one that wanted to fish under the boat
key advantage of going under the boat while the crowd is on the others side, the fish see your bait first. Just have to use a heavier sinker than the rest of the boat.

Why the hate for the harrier? Idk about the x or slow pitch but the original was decent. Line wraps around the tip a lot because of the tiny guide, but I've landed some nice fish on it, and for $90 w a warranty, i can't hate it. Deff better options available tho
to be honest, my hate for the harrier just comes from the heavy reels I see paired with them while working on a party boat, and how unbalanced it makes them. Anytime I use a customers Harrier they always feel unbalanced and the butt so long, and trigger in the wrong spot that it messes me up while Im setting the hook or reeling in a fish. They arent bad rods, esp for the price, youre right. I picked one up the other day at a show and it was light.
@ChrisMcIntee see i like the long butt, because im fat af and got a lot of side titty. The shorter butt rods dig in my armpit when i the rod under my arm.

How do you think those rigs would’ve matched up against the PROVEN single jig method?
haha well you would crush fish with a jig, problem is most would be seabass
I’m thinking that the proven single jig method, accompanied by a Stella, paired with a custom rod would’ve out-fished that entire boat easily
3/8 oz jig would still be waiting to find the bottom 6 months later.
