    Love the look, not the implementation.
    Big knob sticking out? "looks like a volume knob to me!"
    Certainly not "guest friendly"
    To not criticize without a solution -
    Knob default to volume with the awake click.
    Outside buttons to select mode of rotary encoder. E. G. -
    Volume (to go back to default)
    Source
    Tone
    Menu (to control another zone, dimming, etc. selectable with encoder click and change with rotation)
    As implemented they would cause more confusion and with the possibility of breaking off the knobs without any added function - doesn't seem like an upgrade.
    Good to see you back though, I love my WHA setup you very much guided my way through with your videos.

    I really like these new keypads the only problem I see is users thinking the forward and back buttons are to skip the songs. I will be running these with a Chromecast in the amp. Fairly sure it will not skip the songs with these buttons.

    Interesting, and perfect timing. I need to contact Soundavo to see about my replacement keypad. My system installation was a bit of a fiasco, which took about 2 years to resolve. Much of that time was due to me and my disgust. Lol. (The system, even a replacement WS66i, kept shutting down after power-up). I finally isolated one keypad as defective.
    Even after 2 years, Soundavo agreed to replace it, even though I'm well beyond the 1 year warranty period.
    I think I will be happy with the original design, though. That button sticks out kinda far.

      As it turns out, all of my 2+ years of frustrations, trying a new WS66i, a new keypad hub and a new keypad for zone 6, my problem turned out to be in improperly terminated ethernet cable!
      Soundavo were wonderfully accommodating.
      I highly recommend them and the WS66i, and I thank YOU for your great videos, without which I never would have known about these whole-home systems.

    great video, will this work with the DAX88? Also, can you please get a bluetooth mic? Was hard to hear you on my phone.

    This is great! I'm looking to buy a ws66i in the coming weeks and wonder if setting up my 5.1 with an AVR is doable or to just connect the 5.1 directly into the amp. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! :D

    PA. Does the Soundavo have a feature like Public Address that works with their amps? If so do you know if it cuts off whatever is playing when the PA is enrolled? Thanks excellent videos thanks much.

    • @TheKMZ1
      @TheKMZ1  3 месяца назад

      Yes it has PA functionality. You can view the user manual on their website. But here is a summary from it: use source #1 if using the PA functionality. Paging capability for Input 1 to broadcast to all zones when 12VDC is applied to the PA - IN jack. The PA in jack is located on the back as well. So in summary - apply 12v into the PA in and broadcast your audio into source input #1. It will stop what is playing and play whatever you are doing on that source #1.

    was looking at the DAX66 or the WS66I, I see that you have worked with both, which one do you like better and why? It looks l;ike the DAX66 is about 1/2 the price of the WS66I

    • @TheKMZ1
      @TheKMZ1  4 месяца назад

      Part of the price difference you need to factor in is that the wa66i has more warranty, the wireless app control module built in so you can control it with your phone, and it has 2 wireless streamers built in. It has a LAN in and a built in switch with a LAN out. This has been useful when my amp is in my upstairs and I don't get great wifi in that part of my house, I plugged in another wireless access point which was nice. So while both amps achieve the exact same result, there are differences that might make you pick one over the other.

    Kadin . I’m hooking up my monoprice just have the rj45 keypads connected no speakers or inputs . All lights on the face come on an all the lights on keypads are working put no keypad foundations yet . Is this normal ?

    • @TheKMZ1
      @TheKMZ1  5 месяцев назад

      No that's not normal, do you have the keypad hub connected to the amp, and the keypad connected to the hub? And then don't forget you need to use the switches on the back of the keypad to tell it what zone it's going to control. And you can't have 2 keypads with the same zone set with those switches
