Hi Proko Is it possible to have subscription based courses on your website i think it could be much more accessible for students and hopefully you would make more as well since the subscriptions are cheaper than paying alot at once Or even payment plans would work Thanks for all the resources:)
@@aakashkathait8328 We have payment plans on the website currently. We don't feel that charging a subscription fee for students to maintain access to their art education would be right. What people usually want with that kind of thing is a lower cost and we do that two ways, by releasing tons of our lessons for free here on RUclips and by doing regular sales like the one coming up later this month. If we find a way to make a subscription model work in the future, we'll roll that out. But we want people to have lifetime access to the tools they use and the lessons they learn from because we believe revisiting your fundamentals is a necessary and important part of being an artist. Thank you for reaching out, though!
I really like his mentality that not every new drawing has to be the best thing he's ever drawn. By outputting consistently you will eventually land on a piece that you are proud of and makes you feel good. You just have to stick to it and enjoy the process, that way the great results become an added benefit to the work and determination.
Agreed. Ive challenged myself to create art every day and Ive realized some days will be amazing and others not so much :/ the less held up I get on my not-so-amazing days, the more my stamina and passion for creating I have every day. When I judge or crucify myself for creating something that isn’t monumental I only hold myself back from seeing that its just an off day. A ‘less-good’ art piece doesn’t have to determine my skill as a whole but rather is just a moment of more learning growing and trying new things.
I am relearning to draw again after i have been doing it for more than 10 years. But these 10 years I have been in and out of artblock. The best thing that i achieved recently is, I learned to do ugly drawings and bad ones and be totally ok with that.
It's incredible how playfulness in drawing has to be relearned as you're older, because looming over every artist that desires to make quality work in this industry is a perfectionism that can be cumbersome on the imagination. I love Bryce Kho's work, I've been following him on Instagram for some years and I'm always deriving inspiration from his amazing art, this was certainly a treat to see him at work.
Agreed! It's easy to lose track of why we started making art in the first place. It's always good to get back to basics and play around with some tools again!
I really like this piece, very much in the style of those amazing Final Fantasy covers, from the art of Yoshitaka Amano, which is some of the coolest art styles out there. Love it
I’ve been waiting for this video since I saw a mention in his Instagram! I love his approach and how wholesome his talking feels when he’s working. Thanks for having him Proko❤
As soon as he said Amano, I locked in and absorbed everything I could. Incredible video honestly will keep coming back to this and throw it on repeat. Pure gold
I definitely wanna try more exercises like this cuz sometimes i feel like i lack imagination in my art which is depressing. Art is about expressing yourself and yet i struggle with it still.
Hi stan, great video as always ! I have a question regarding working from big to small. When doing Value studies, and I’m going to paint the darkest value. Do i Paint that darkest value all the way from the big shadow shape to small small shape, then move to the next lighter values and do the same thing. Or should I paint the darkest value only on the large form first, move to the next lighter values on that large form and do the same. And do the same for the medium to small form ? I hope this question made sense.
There is! We send out emails with updates on the release of new course lessons. These are on by default but you can change the setting on your Profile ---> Settings ---> Notifications ---> Email Notifications. Hope that helps!
Brother Bryce....from another brother Bryce ...I like the looseness. I agree...basicaly let the stuff draw itself and have fun. 🤷♂️ From the art to Music Sea of Stars is amazing 🤙 ...Also...Sexy pens 😍. I like the philosophy that even mistakes are part of the fun and can be tuned and added to the piece anyways. Kinda like Bob Ross happy accidents 😂 Scribble it up ya'll! Now I wanna throw colors around again! Thanks.... Bryce 🤙 Ps: frogs, lizards and birds have a 'Cloaca' 😂
Rohrer and Klinger are the inks used, paired with Kuretake Bimoji pens for the lines. He mentions that briefly at 30:08, in case you want to see that portion of the video. Hope that helps!
I love listening to him. He has a really healthy and down to earth approach to art. Also, I love that he uses the values and blob edges not to separate figures, but as contours within an individual figure. His process of seeing something in the *negative* space is insightful.
When I was a teaching artist I would order CMYK paint instead of RGB because of how many color combos you can make. I also use them in my own practice!
When I was in the CSULB Illustration Program in the 1980s, we were taught to use CMYK gouache so that when our art was color scanned (pre computer) it would separate correctly.
Did you paint on separate layers with cmy j each one? I mean what is the difference pairing with the cmyk base colors vs any color if you mix the pigments. The color separated in process will be the same then anyway
I remember seeing you talk about this exact piece in one of the Draftsmen podcasts. I remember being totally enthralled by the idea behind it, the concept of splattering wateroclour randomly and then inking over it. Its completely outside of my skillset but one day I really wanna learn to do this because it sounds like an amazing way to just express yourself in a really controlled fashion. The end result looks stunning too.
This is not painting with cmyk as a printer (which uses half one rasters to create colors - more a kind to pointillism ) This is painting normal watercolor where you mix the colors from the core base colors. CMY (K is not really needed) most people that was trained I no traditional color theory has done this. Without anything connected to a printer. So nice clip. A bit misleading title :)

Most definitely, it drew me to his work instantly
Yoshitaka Amano is absolutely my #1 inspiration, and I adore his art! Thank you for this video!!!
A legendary artist! When Bryce was making this piece, two of the Proko team got so excited to see that influence at work in it.
@@ProkoTV I can't say I blame them, I was excited myself when I saw the thumbnail 😄
I've been looking at Bryce's work a lot lately so this is perfect timing!
He's a great artist!
@@ProkoTVThat Sea of Stars artbook is looking tasty.
@@YellowMysticZA It's a good one! Bryce knocked it out of the park with those concepts and they put together a great book with them.

What kind of ink does he use for the color blobs?
Rohrer and Klinger are the inks used, paired with Kuretake Bimoji pens for the lines.
He mentions that briefly at 30:08, in case you want to see that portion of the video. Hope that helps!
Bro asked Shenron for the ultimate art skills.
What is that pen hes inking with? I like the line thickness of it
At 7:18, Bryce mentions that he's using Kuretake Bimoji pens.
@@ProkoTV Thanks. For anyone else wondering its their medium felt tip bimoji.
What did he do when the paint was drying?
It didn't take a long time. All of these demos are done on a pretty tight timeline so he's working with it as is.
when you dont have a good printer with thousands of lines percm, but you have paint and your hand.
hear me out on the guy in armor witha ponytail...
