Yet those living in the Western world would hardly know this fact, given the rampant bubbles ongoing in respective competing asset classes.
The spot gold price surged to close the week's trading just below $2100 oz.
The spot silver price followed with a slight pop to close the week above $23 oz.
The spot gold silver ratio still finished laughably high just below 90 on the week. That said, in a bullion bull you want to see gold lead so let's see if gold can continue its strength next week.

All Fiat = ponzi
Fiat is not going anywhere anytime soon. Given the creation of CBDC's if anything they will be around for a LONG time, they will just use the reset when they need to move from the Dollar to FedCoin. However, having physical is a smart play because regardless it will have value and that value will continue to grow over time regardless of resets or debt jubilee's or any other tricks to keep people locked in fiat. Locking in the value of fiat regardless of which by moving to physical is smart AND practical so that wealth is not destroyed in varying degree's over time whether it's the Fed's 2% target or their 9% "transitory" mistake or more.

I'm hoping to end the rat race by 60, I’m 52, $600K net worth. Money is a liability, not an asset. You have to exchange it for assets that represent real value. Real estate - properties for rent. Stocks (dividends). Bonds (interest), funds, REITs (interest) So, what is it with Gold?

Weekly wage was about $125.00.
Today, avg. wkly wage is about 1100...gold?
Historically gold hasn't really changed in price.

gold is doing exactly what it is supposed to: preserve purchasing power. it's not an investment. it IS money. and gold is actually slightly higher today based on your salary today and the previous ratio you quoted.
@@lepton31415 slightly higher, maybe, maybe not. Short term volatility makes it all very difficult to "predict".
Record highs, followed by dramatic drops. It's all a manipulated system anyway. Long term investments, short term goals... Yada yada yada blah blah blah... Whatever. I remember filling up the car with gas for a dollar and change ( pre 64 ). Same silver dollar today does damn near the same job.

Very enlightening video especially the Chinese footage. It would be wise to have an economy so inclined. All of those Au purchases are real money just a transfer of the yuan to actual monies. Where is the silver though? I see a few small dragons.

To play devils advocate, if China is experiencing deflation, why would they buy gold now? As it will continue to get cheaper in terms of yuan, as their currency strengthens.

I have heard in the event of a crash, there is an order of who gets their money first, I'm pretty sure a private citizen like me is at the end of the line, so I will keep my gold myself, I dont trust anything that isnt under my direct control. Cant wait for gold to start rising, sooner or later the powers that be wont be able to keep it held down.

Is it a bad idea to invest in a Roth IRA, at this point?
If you believe that the fiat you put INTO a ROTH won’t collapse and will be there when your age is 70 , or when you decide to retire ; nothing wrong with your ROTH . Just consider having a “ hedge “ like physical gold/silver as well .
Thank you for responding. That is what my choice is between, Roth IRA or physical gold. Putting money into a Roth IRA at this time doesn't make sense to me, but I am very much a novice when it comes to all of this. I was hoping someone could chime in that is much more knowledgeable than me. My gut feeling says go with gold.

That is a very personal choice for you to make .
The most important thing to do is YOUR OWN DUE DILIGENCE .
Study the time frame you have , as in age 70 minus the age you are . I was advised to do a ROTH over a 401 k and I now regret NOT taking that advice . You already know , otherwise you wouldn’t already BE in a ROTH .
I went all in physical silver . But I may have chosen incorrect . Your money , your time frame , your research , not anyone else’s .

Even You yourself should have ample funds to transact/pay bills in current system .
