I'm an atheist but the hope and determination found at the core of religion is something anyone can benefit from, even if it's not based in the belief of god. For some people the urge to be good or even get up in the morning has to be placed in something bigger than themselves just to keep going.
Even though I think what the guy was referring to was a little more abstract but this was just an example.
But as I said im an atheist and I believe people are capable of making the right moral choice without the guidance of religion but not everyone feels that way.

The grandpa writing the letter to the grandson about the uncle molesting him, really triggered me. That’s why so many kids don’t speak up and it happens for years. It ruins lives! That so called “grandpa” is just as bad as the uncle.😔
I agree. Such a sad situation that anyone has to face, specially children who look to the adult to protect them. I own behavioral health group homes for kids (females) and the level of sexual trauma they have dealt with is alarming and idk how they can be so strong. You are right about them not always speaking up, but it definitely shows in many areas of their lives, usually in a negative way in the case of all the young ladies I have come across.

My secret: my family is struggling with money right now but people in my town just see the big house and nice trucks. Even my friends call me rich and make me stand out and feel weird about it. They don’t see that my parents are close to losing everything, they don’t realize that my dad is gone for months at a time working somewhere else, they don’t know that I (16) have to lend my parents and siblings money to stop debt. People call us rich without seeing what we’ve done/ lost to get what we have
I never thought I would ever read something like this cuz that is exactly what I’ve been going through for years. No one realises shit and how it hurts me to see that they don’t believe me when I try to explain it. Everyone thinks my life is fucking perfect when everything is just collapsing around me. To the person who felt like they learn slower than others and struggle with math, I feel you. I wasn’t good at math and reading in elementary school, so I often got pulled out of class to work on those things. I kept working hard and became more studious, and by the end of high school, reading and math had become my strong suits lol.
As an adult, I realize now that learning slow wasn’t because I was stupid. I just take a bit more time to process new information because I need to connect it with something else that I know. But once I learn something, I become better at it than those that learned it faster. I end up teaching them how to do it later lol. Stay dedicated and determined, focused and hard working. Don’t give up on yourself. :)

Same here 🤚 l remember getting pulled out of class and having different work. I always felt stupid 😪. Now my daughter is having the same problem, it's difficult for her to believe she is not stupid. Everyone learns at a different pace , she's a visual learner. Excellent at art , taking pictures, designing her own pictures, putting colors together. Everyone has their own strengths 💪. I hope one day she sees that....sometimes l feel like my words are not enough.
I had/have this same problem with math. Part of it was my way of learning, but also there is a type of “dyslexia” for math called “dyscalculia” that makes it hard for some people to learn math. Link: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dyscalculia

I love the answer to the priest’s secret. I’m not really religious myself and I don’t think I would be able to form my answer as well as he did.

I only hope that the priest in question isn't miserable in his role as a consequence of his loss of faith. The guy who read it out gave a good answer - it's very true that there is a worth in the service you provide others as a priest. However, should it be at the cost of your own happiness and conviction, and aren't there services you can provide to the community that would help people without sacrificing yourself? I'm not sure all people could be, nor _should_ they be, expected to stay in a role they no longer embody simply for the sake of serving others, especially if they feel like they're lying to people and themselves by repeating scriptures they don't believe. Is the cost too high? Only the individual can say.
my biggest thing is how can you lead someone to a salvation you don't believe in? if you are lost how can you show others the way? i think he needs to find a different route in life, because there are eternal consequences for this. as a priest your are responsible for your church.

Harassment is the biggest problem in Christianity because many Christians few those who don't believe as lesser than them, especially if that nonbeliever is your child.
I have met so many wonderful people in my life who have religious trauma due to family, and it saddens me to say that priest might be one of them... he was expected to become a priest, forced, and it caused him to lose faith.
To the guy that was molested, if you read this: I just want to let you know that as a collective whole, we all DO NOT agree that you getting molested was your fault. I want to reach out to you really badly. The creators of this channel, is there a way? If not, we all love you.

That’s what makes this social experiment so great. The secrets were left anonymously so the person reading are starting from a clean slate, free of bias or prejudice.

As someone over 40.. first off, we are a long way from seniors homes yet, lol, and secondly, I don't think it is a lack of stepping up, I gather the videos are often taped near or on campus so there is just more young(er) people around to contribute.

7:19 Totally relatable!! People keep saying that if you don't know something then ask, but when people ask because they don't know they are shamed for it. It makes people not want to trust others especially teachers. Like whether it's a dumb question or not just answer it. It's just a question. Make light jokes and laugh it off, but please don't shame someone for trying to catch up with the rest or who genuinely doesn't know something especially when they're slow in learning something. It becomes an insecurity for people.
There's no place for forgiveness in a capitalistic world. Conflict is profitable. Bringing someone down is even more so, because the richest person is as rich as the poorest person is poor.
When I worked as an SLSO (teacher's aide) a few years back I'd always make a point of recognising students who typically struggled with certain subjects because they had a pace or method of learning that didn't always line up with the teacher's ways of teaching - simply put, not everyone deemed "slow" is actually slow, but often just learn in a different way (some learn from reading it on paper, some learn from demonstrations, etc), or have preoccupations with issues in their home/social life. I think I empathised with kids like that cos once upon a time I WAS that kid: a massive daydreamer in class, who had a lot of trouble focusing on or retaining information on anything related to book learning.
I find the students who struggle the most are often the ones most afraid to ask for help, usually because they've been made to feel stupid for asking in the past. Students who do well in a subject might occasionally avoid asking for help, but most of the time they're confident enough in the subject that they don't feel the same alienation in asking. I also don't really blame it on teachers (besides those who make a student feel bad - that's just crummy teaching), because it's HARD trying to keep the whole class moving through the curriculum when some kids really struggle and need a lot of one-on-one attention in certain subjects. But that's why teacher's aides exist and are so invaluable, and why every class should have at least one (unfortunately they're expensive to employ).
Anyway, back then I'd make an effort to recognise the individual interests or strengths of the students and find ways to apply that to helping them understand whatever problem they were having trouble with. It works surprisingly well, especially in maintaining interest, because it's suddenly less 'alien' to them. If I could see them struggling (usually they'd get distracted, and then start distracting others) I'd approach them first and find the question they were having problems with, then talk them through it using a demonstration, do a few together, then watch them do one or two by themselves before I left them to it. It was amazing to see how much confidence they could develop in a subject they'd always struggled with, and over a relatively short time. It was also a really rewarding experience for me - to know they wouldn't be held back for something that quite often wasn't their fault.

This channel must be helping so many people to not feel as alone in where they are at in life, things they struggle with, and it is comforting just to know you are not alone and you are not the first or last to go through some of these things. Wether you did something or something was done to you or both.. It helps to become less judgemental thowards yourself and other people and have more compassion and work on your own difficulties in a more spacious and loving way. This speeds up the healing proccess of those wounds, that we all have. That we are all human, basically. It's one of the most precious channels on RUclips to me. Such a beautiful initiative

The one about feeling as though you should be ashamed about "asking for help about anything" made me break down crying. I really felt that as someone who was told all throughout my younger school years that I was a slow learner because of my dyslexia. All I have to say to anyone struggling it really does get better and hang in there. ♥♥♥

Here is mine: I saved a family member from drowning in a famous lake. I saw her suffocating, I jumped. No one noticed, she was too ashamed to show her ordeal, and I kept quite to respect her desperation at the moment. We came out of the water as if nothing. There was plenty of people, family, friends, around us, playing loudly. Only she and I know to this day.
If you have the opportunity to do good, keep it to yourself, or let it out like an anonymous bottle under a starry ocean. It may help someone. Stay happy. Love

Personally, I believe all humans are insecure. It's just something we're born with. A lot of people care about how people see them, when really everyone feels that way. It's hard, life always is, but it's good to know people have similar problems as you. It's good to know you’re not alone. I just want to point out that I don't speak for everyone when I say this. Everyone see's life differently, and that's what makes you unique.
I can absolutely relate to that one secret about being slow in learning math. I have always felt so embarrassed while asking for help, even after explaining to me, it have been so hard to understand. I was yelled at and embarrassed by my own math teacher for 3 years in grammar school and was so stressed every time we had math subject. But you know what, it doesn't matter anyway, because there is something deep inside you, some different purpose right for you that is more meaningful and will be your whole life. Even when I felt I was less valuable because of that, I don't feel the same way after I finished the school and I am doing what I am good at and I am passionate about. So you are not too. 💛
Me too! My 8th grade math teacher once told me that I would never mount to anything in this life let alone graduate high school because I was stupid at math. That still messes with me today and I'm almost 32. The other day, my dad got frustrated with me because I couldn't figure out a math equation fast enough. He told me to use my head because it was "easy". I shutdown and left.
I have to share this somewhere. This is probably the biggest regret I’ve had so far in my life. Our school librarian passed away from COVID just before the new year. I’m in my school’s show choir, and we were asked if everyone that was free that day could sing at her funeral. I cried so much during the song I had to stop used my voice was so shaky and my throat closed up. I felt terrible. I felt like I had single-handedly ruined the entire song, the entire funeral just by being so sensitive, which is something I’ve always hated about myself. Before I left, I went up to the coffin and had to apologize to her for ruining the entire thing. It was like I was paying respects. I barely even knew her first name.
I don’t think you ruined anything, i think that facing death (even with people we don’t really know) we all have really differents way to deal with it

2:12 U had some friends who shared music with me. We were a group of kinda broken people. All of us where different somehow but we accepted each other without questioning. Some of them got into my heart and I am still very thankfull that they were there for me. I had a hard time but it didn't matter there. The first time I got to do something with them I have let some people know that I was feeling really bad and one of them asked me why I am not feeling good. I told him and he just asked me to hang out with them. Nothing else. Just hanging out. No questions just acceptance. It felt so good. I am still kind of sad that we are not hanging out anymore. Some of them just go there way I guess. And I know that others of this group still hang out together but at one point I didn't went with them anymore. I am feeling way better and I know that they are still batteling there fights. I would love to hang out with them one more time. Thats one of the reasons there music means alot to me. As they showed me there music I listend to it when I felt alone or we werent togethere for a longer time. It always gave me a bit of the feeling being home or being welcome. The music itself wasn't the point of it. It felt like listening to them. Being with them. I had not this feeling for a long time when I listend to the music but they are still at my heart. I don't want ever to forget what they gave me.
It is so important to have people where u don't need to question anything. People who just accept you and how u are and what u do. People can give u the feeling of being home and safe.

I thought that too at first. I then realized that over the years my secerts have become dust. As time passes, the players die. Graves are discovered and atrocities revealed. My secrets may have been painful to me, but I protected everyone in my path with my heart, soul, and, life, and I do not feel ashamed. I truly did my best to save us all from pain and harm unto my death. I would do it again. My immortal soul is worthless if mamas and children are crying. I will bare my secrets and my sins if one soul can walk in freedom. That sounds heavy, but we make our choices and stick to them. Even when it makes us look stupid and trivial to those in power. The bottom line always involves a choice.

The person struggling with the imposter syndrome everyday..it will get better as you get you do the things you love and make sure to recognize your wins no matter how small, since we can be so hard on our ourselves. I struggle with this myself as a woman switching to the stem field, and finding people in your field that you can be comfortable around really helped me a lot.
I remember loving the PostSecret books years ago and I'm glad that you've created another version of that idea. It's allowing people to relieve some of the emotional and mental stress that comes with carrying the weight of things they don't talk about. Thank you for your videos!

I have a friend and one day i was explaining something to her that she didn't quite get and she looked me dead in the eyes and said "I'm sorry if I'm being a bother but I'm really interested in this but i learn slowly, I'm a slow learner but I'm willing and i learn eventually, just be patient" and i thought that was the bravest thing I've ever heard and she unknowingly gave me the confidence to speak up whenever i have no idea what's going on.

At times I was once in my house with my parents to find out my dad left to get some stuff and our house was about to be attacked I survived but it still scares me to this day.

People are quick to judge others, compare to others and put themselves down. In reality, you never know what someone else is going through and you are just as wanted as they are. You are just as precious. Everyone goes through tough times and everyone needs help at some point. But everyone needs to know that they are loved and valued, even if you don't feel it, it is somewhere and even random stranger interactions is what you may need to see it or feel it. Keep on truckin, and be kind to yourself and others.
It's weird that this society is all about social media but everyone still have those secrets that they can't tell to anybody. Much of our culture is completely broken in that aspect, like the lack of respect for anyone, like the will to destroy the life of someone in seconds because you had a bad relationships. It's really damaging to everyone and it's spreading everywhere, like taking pictures of conversations, making sure to have a backup and shame someone, and the worst part is that this situation spreads around people, and at the end we can't even have real friends because we don't trust each other.
My secret is that i am scared that i couldn't find a woman that doesn't treat people like objects.

We all hurt, get hurt, and make mistakes, but it's alright, because we're not alone. This is a beautiful project.

7:16 was me for a very long time, I would breakdown or start having an anxiety attack when i realized that I needed help with a problem or situation. The solution i found is definitely not for everyone, I make it a point to tell myself and others around me that I really like getting advice and criticism. At first it was still super hard to start asking for help but now years later I've somehow tricked myself into genuinely liking getting advice and criticism .

8:55 while I was in uni there was a 68 year old lady who also attended. I was curious and asked her why she is still in uni. What she said broke my heart.
She said that she had a doctorate degree in politics. She married when she was in her 20's. Her husband had a degree but was in the process of getting a higher degree (can't remember in what) but sadly passed away due to cancer. She had inherited a lot of money when he passed away a few years later. She decided to study the field her husband wanted to do as a way of showing her love. After that she decided to keep on studying what ever interested her.
