  • In May of 1983 Sandy Berman, myself and an guy I forget traveled to Lucille's home in Queens to find out about her life after Louis. Here's a taste.

    It's great to see this interview with Lucille. The home she's sitting in is now a museum. They were a great couple - pure class.

    I grew up on that block in Corona Queens. 107th street. I was their paperboy for a while back in 1969. I also was at the Armstrong Park opening in New Orleans, in 1980. I was just a kid on the block and he would make time with us. It was wonderful!

    He had a daughter from another lady and she didn't want him to announce it but he gave the mother money for his daughter

    I love all people, theres a saying that we are all brother and sisters regardless of faith creed and color. I lost my grandpa and I listened to Louis armstrongs song and close my eyes I picture him in his wheelchair smiling.. All the hate in me dissapears because of his song.

    I LOVE my people man, we're the BEST! And yes, she's a very classy lady.
