This is Jessi the one I just talked to you about the epoxy bar top. I really wish I would’ve seen this video before I used wood glue about the salt trick. It would’ve saved a lot of trouble whenever I was trying to stay in the wood and realizing stain does not cover wood glue.
Wow! This video is so great! All of these are amazing tricks for me. I already feel like I am gonna suffer so much less from the beginning of my first woodworking project. Thanks, Greg!😊🎉🎉🎉
That tip about using leaving the measuring tape clipped while using it is actually in a script for one of my next videos! You hacking into my files? Great video, Greg! Keep it up!
Great video Greg. You were clear, positive, and to the point. The editing and transitions were nice as well. Started thinking it might be the same editor as Matt’s haha. Sounds like you’re a natural man!. Not sure I’ll ever try. I like the hacks, knew about most. The holes on the cans of finish concern me about drying out the product but perhaps the lid seals over them 🤷♂️. Take care and keep it up putting out these quality vids!
Great Video. The Miter Saw hack is a great one (as all of them are). Great to see the blade cleaning option, it need to be repeated that you need to clean your blade and not assume it's burning because it's dull. Well done!
None of them were truly game changers, but I really enjoyed the 45 degrees idea, and I will most likely incorporate this into the bench I'll be making.
Nice video, some good advice bits. But I did find one error, in the miter saw tip on cutting odd angles you had actually brought your miter inside, which would deduct rather than add. Case in point, the angle you cut was actually 25deg rather than 65, for 65 you would have had to spun the miter to the right. A lot of these tips I have been using for a few decades and they are still viable.
And yes I do know that the other side of that cut would be 65deg, but again having been the cut man for decades, when someone calls for 65deg that is what they want left on not thrown to scrap
Nice tips for most of them. A 5gal bucket lid and a stiff nail brush will be as handy and much cheaper for cleaning TS blades. Not my trick, it comes from Stumpy Nubs.
For sure that would work too. I like the part about being able to throw bits in there too is great. For sure we have other ways. I just think for the price, this is a great solution.
Great tips brother, thanks for sharing! The miter saw hack (#2) is brilliant, and a new one on me. Adding to the recesses of my knowledge hoarding. For the CA glue tip, saw you using Mitreapel... I got some of that a while back on Amazon because it was cheap, but I was not a big fan of it. Found it didn't bond as quick with the kicker as Starbond and Fastcap 2P-10. Interested to know your feelings on it.
I lost track of the numbers but salt will weaken the glue joint. When I saw the test it was true. I do question whether or not it makes a difference in the real world but in the lab it does. If this concerns you just use sawdust. Once I learned about the blue tape for mounting things I never looked back. Blue tape has so many uses it's wild. I found it odd that he used a Festool saw with harbor freight clamps. Now I don't feel so bad about buying them. Great tips!
I use #8 all the time and don't want to admit how long it took me to come to that truck. Need to get me that microjig blade cleaning set up, looks too slick not to have one.
@@a9ball1that's my budget at the moment as well but that microjog cleaner does look super slick. I wish it sealed though so less likely to spill, maybe version 2 will have that.

No worries. I'll help you get it sorted out.

Thank you very much!
Great tips Greg! Appreciate it.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah it was just as an example and a random number to get the point across.
Great tips thanks
Thanks David

Thank you. Welcome aboard
And if you dont have any blue tape handy, the measurement is also written on the back of the charger

So far foir me it has been just as good. I have starbond as well for colors and it seems to be about the same honestly.
@@stlwoodworking thanks for the feedback... maybe I just got a bad batch!

^^^^ What he said. Fine saw dust is much more innocuous than salt with water based glue. I keep it from my sander and it sits in a pepper shaker.
@@wildpat03 That is definitely an option as well
The paint can blew mind 🤯 I wasted so much paint
I know the feeling lol. Simple little things

Great video! Click bait title, though… I think it’s closer to 96%. 😂😂😂
Keep making sawdust and videos, brother! Looking forward to the next one!

Link to MicroJig gave me a 404 error.
Thanks for letting me know I've put in a ticket with them to see what the issue is.
Background music too loud
Thanks for the feedback

Yeah I love mine. I left you a link 😁
I just saw another video about it and he was bragging about it also.
For my budget it's the bucket lid and toothbrush.
