Just got my new super recycler with the Briggs 190cc engine....first time firing it up, and I’m the lucky winner of the well known sputtering issue mower. Now we cut our front yard anyway, and it cut better than any other mower I have ever had, and the personal pace was great. I picked this mower up at Home Depot online, and will be returning it for a replacement one today as toro punted me to Briggs and they basically say to take it to an authorized service center for it to get looked at. For my area, the wait times are at least 3wks and no way am I accepting that as an option on a brand new mower out of the box with a well known issue. I truly hope the next one is issue free and we can enjoy the beautiful cut it will provide for us. I just feel that with Honda and Husqvarna getting out of the gas powered mowers...whatever is left is getting more expensive and lesser quality. Toro is the last residential lawnmowers that are giving me hope....just wish they would do the damn recall on these engines and fix it right instead of continuing to sell problematic engines on their mowers.
Adam, I am sorry that you are having issues with the Briggs 190cc engine. I have not heard of this issue, and I have not experienced any issues with my Super Recycler. I definitely hope that they will resolve your issue to your satisfaction. I too am a little skeptical of several manufacturers moving to battery only mowers is a mistake overall. I guess it's due to my age. LOL. I guess I am the type that likes the reliability of a gas unit ( less your experience of course). I have to admit that I do have several battery powered lawn tools (edgers, trimmers, hedger, etc) and they work great. Guess I need to be open minded to the battery powered options, to at least give them a fair shake. But something just tugs at me to NOT go that route when it comes to my mower selection. I guess time will tell, and maybe they can teach an old dog new tricks. LOL. Thank you for the comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.

My personal one at my house, for which I have three blades, never fails to start, even after being stored for the long Minnesota winters. It is now nine years old. I enjoyed the review. Please enter me into the drawing for the Toro promo kit. Seems like it would go well with the Weber and the hammock!
Very nice, yes those Minnesota winters are brutal. Lived there for a couple of years, granted it was 30 years ago, But you never forget that kind of cold. Best of luck!!

Chad, yes the Super Recycler is doing VERY well. Love the cut and effectiveness of the unit. I will say that I wish they would give an option to cut just a little lower.
