- I've been getting so many requests to demo Shallow Water by Fairfield Circuitry for SO LONG, and I'm so glad I can finally share this with you! Shallow Water is a one-of-a-kind K-field modulator that works so well with harp (and kalimba!). I'd say let's dive into it now, but the water isn't deep enough here...
Thank you so much to Fairfield Circuitry for sending me this pedal!

I'm pretty sure if I was put through the Shallow Water, I would improve as a human being.
honestly, we all would
Like, it would erase the nagging perfectionism or other such neuroses, like heavy drink without the liver damage.
*sends the sound of literal shallow water through the shallow water pedal*
*mind blown*
I played this video one night I was laying down with my gf, I was torn between getting this, Warped Vinyl and the Demedash T-60. She immediately was amazed by this usually she gets annoyed when I watch pedal videos on YT but she loved it and fell asleep to this and asked to keep playing it. I bought Shallow Waters the next day and it’s incredible thank you for making this.
Thanks so much for this lovely comment, Dorian!!! It made me smile!! I really love shallow water!! I really do want to try the T60, I LOVED the T-120 - hopefully I can get in touch with Demedash again soon!!
Shallow water is really amazing at what it does!! I just got it back from briefly lending it to a friend and I really missed it while it was gone, honestly a lot more than I thought I would!!
@@emilyharpist the T-60 is amazing too but Shallow Waters is just so emotional and makes anything sound interesting. It’s always on too kicking it off feels like turning off a giant reverb. Brave of you to part from lol 😂
Yay! Another Emily video! Thank you Emily!❤️
I’m literally sending this video to my wife while she is at work right now to relax.
Then tonight I will tell her this was the reason I asked her to walk out in the rain last night to collect a delivered package and I’ll see her Monday morning❤
Your channel is so relaxing to watch. You are both super creative and have such gentle souls. Thank you
Thank you so much Jay! That means a lot ❤️
Nice demo! Very interesting pedal. Sounds excellent.
Oh my the calming blue and green colors that flowed through your fingers and your harp ,I'm sitting under calm pale blue water watching the sounds flow by ,keep on keeping on love ya ♥️
Stunning, how can a sound be relaxing and exciting at once?
Fairfield Circuitry!!! That’s how!!!
The first melody is incredible! Thank you.
Thank you so much!! I really appreciate that!! 🥰❤️🎶
Ooh this pedal would sound so amazing through a vintage juno synth, somebody needs to try it. Great demo as usual!
Yessss I need to hear that too!
I put it into the signal path of my Moog Matriarch between the mixer and the filter. It’s every bit as great as you would think it would be.
These are real fun and inspiring to watch 🎥
Thanks so much!! ❤️
Great combo!!
Wow this sounds beautiful, thanks for making this.
Thank you so so much!
I've been looking forward to this video since you started this channel 💕
This is probably the most requested pedal on my channel lately!! So happy to finally get my hands on one
Thanks so much for being here ❤️
Emily this is so good!!! ☺️
Thanks so much Sam!!
that blooper + SW section is my new fav
WOW thats an amazing sound!!
I know right?! It’s such a cool pedal
Sounds lovely. Love the warble 👍
Thanks so much!
sounds like a very chill ambiente soundtrack for some exploration
Yea! That’s exactly what this thing does, super fun
YES I knew you would make it sound incredible!
Thank you so much!!! This demo was a long time coming hahaha
@@emilyharpist Well worth the wait imo!!
@@productive_citizen ❤️
Goated on the strings nice.
thanc
holy shit that sounds sooo gooood
Best pedal ever.
I love it.
I love u
I need this intravenously.
This makes your harp sound like it was a pentatonic scaled instrument, like something traditional from Japan or China
I agree!! The random quick pitch shifts sound like string bends, which makes it sound eastern. I’m so glad to have this because my harp can’t do that on its own 😂
Finally
My favourite pedal on my board.... if I had to leave it all behind bar one.... I think she'd be the one.
👍👍👍👍
Shout out to your talent but shout out to your wardrobe. Your outfits are aesthetic... make me wanna step my game up haha
I'm so sorry that I'm responding to your comment so late but this legitimately made my WEEK; I was smiling so hard when I saw it come up on my notifications!! I think you're the first and only person to ever comment on my style in a positive way hahaha so it really means a lot to me!! thank you thank you! :) ♥️♥️♥️
@@emilyharpist absolutely well dressed... and people are haters... nice work!
Calming sounds of a peaceful stream and a gentle breeze rustling leaves and crows going AAAACK AAACK AAACK AAACK!!!
Hahahaha crows really be like that. I recorded both of those clips in summer ‘19 in upstate New York. It’s crazy how remote you have to be to get good nature sounds without the sound of cars in the distance. ALSO I saw your comment about the band I’m in - I don’t think the project has a name yet (it’s new) in but the record is almost done being mixed and there’s a music video that’s pretty cool that’s in post-production. I’m not in the first single :( I’m in 5 or 6 of the 9 tracks on the album and it’s pretty wild stuff. Natalie (the singer I post a lot of covers with) is the singer and the other musicians are top notch. Lots of synths too
@@emilyharpist Really? I thought everything north of NYC was barren tundra 🤷♂️
I'm stoked to hear what your sound is like in the context of a full band. You probably didn't know this about me, but I'm a professional band namer. Seeing as how we've become buds I can offer you some cool band names free of charge. Hows about:
ANAL FISSURE
or
FESTERING CORPSE EXPLOSION
or
BLOODY KNIFE WITH BLOOD AND SHIT ON IT
I specialize in naming metal bands, but these should be suitable for all genres of music. Let me know what you think!
@@Dulceria-La-Princesita 😳
@@Dulceria-La-Princesita I’ll definitely bring those name options up to the rest of the group
@@emilyharpist OH MY GOSH! Are we... are we NETWORKING!? Freakin siiiiick.
Okay, let your band know that if they want to splurge for the premium package I will add "Emily and the" to whichever name they pick.
awesome, thank you! short question: did you alter any pots/settings inside? (boost/pad?)
Hi Oscar!! Nope, no mods were made to this unit!
First tone sounds like being inside a bong hit
What do you think of this versus other lofi modulation pedals, like the Cooper FX Generation Loss?
So this one really feels the most “natural” of the bunch. The modulation can sometimes feel like a single string-bend which is really helpful for me cause I can’t really do that on harp alone haha. It can feel relatively unpredictable too, which really aligns with my taste and playing. Gen Loss V2 is probably my favorite out of the more extreme lo-fi pedal options. I really tried to emphasize how this one feels more like being underwater than something ran through an old VHS, I honestly wouldn’t categorize SW and Gen loss too close together from my experience. I found Lo-fi Junky to be the closest to those lo-fi filters you hear in more popular lofi stuff, which was originally what I was setting out to look for and is absolutely amazing, but it’s a little too noisy to work well living on my board. Somersault really grew on me and really resonated with a lot of my channel viewers, it’s got a lot of really cool versatile features. I was considering doing a video with all of them soon and really making a big comparison
@@emilyharpist wow thanks for such a thoughtful response. I would definitely love to see a shootout / comparison video of all your favorite lofi modulators!
@@onetransmission no problem!! As long as nothing comes up I was gonna try to shoot a video of that in the next week or two!
second question: lovely cables, what are those?
EBS PG-10 premium gold flat right angle!!!
@@emilyharpist thanks
I need to hear a microcosm run through this, maybe
omg yes!!!
Now I know why I got scalded in the shower. Emily just flushed.
Warst du vor einem Jahr noch eine hübsche Frau!!!
Sounds like it’s broken
I hope your feet were resting in a bowl of water while playing this.
😂
Ugliest pedals built (besides Cornish!), but seriously awesome sounding!
HAHAH I kind of like their homemade charm!! when you order a Fairfield Circuitry pedal, they come in a regular paper bag 😂❤️ it's so cute!!
