    Professional and so detailed! I was able to save $500 by doing this myself and my local mechanic just charged $45 to fill and charge my system after replacing the compressor. I can’t thank you enough!

    Ah ha! I noticed you use a lightbulb also to check circuit strength. The guys in my shop look like a deer in the headlight( no pun) when I use this method. Lol! I dont know about you but I've probably diagnosed more than a dozen Nissan compressors this season! Great vid my friend! This is great info for someone who doesn't have too much time under their belt with AC work. Have a good day.

    • @Autofixpals
      @Autofixpals  5 лет назад +2

      ohh man. When a car comes into the drive and its a Nissan that is older than 2013 and they are complaining about AC not working. Its almost guaranteed to be a compressor.
      Another quick diag tip for the Nissans pre 2013 compressors. If the fans come on when you turn the AC switch on and go off at the same time you turn it off. You pretty much just diagnosed a faulty compressor coil, or at the very minimum verified that a leak isnt the issue or only issue lol.
      Thanks for your comment. 👍

      ohh and yeah man that headlight bulb is like 4amps or something like that. It's perfect for almost anything. Wont burn up the wires but it stresses them just enough.

    been having a squeak noise happening after I had one of these changed out in my 04 Murano. only happens after 1200rpm or when you put some power down. not sure if its completely connected to this issue or if its something else connected to that serpentine belt. this was an extremely well put together video for anyone doing this on your own, I really wish I had this when i pulled mine out lol

    I have a 2013 Nissan murano sl. My ac worked on freeway it just stopped blowing cold only hot air. I ran my ac compressor direct to see if it worked, no. So I bought a new one and had someone replace it for 160. Now it does not turn on only while running direct. Wat could be the problem why my compressor won't turn on?

    Our shop has replaced close to 64 Nissan compressors since February, ALL having failed clutch coils (Altima, Maxima, Sentra, Infinity models, Murano, etc.,). One lady (in from Houston) said this would be her 4th compressor replacement for that reason (2013 Rogue)! I'm quite sure Nissan is well aware of this, but have they even so much as issued a statement, much less a recall? Hell, no! If I owned a Nissan, I would be in the process of filing a class-action.
    Also had several that had power from the IPDM, but there was a short/break in the light blue wire going TO the clutch (OOOOHHH!!! Mysteriously!). Conspiracy? Let me just say this: years ago, you used to see shaft seal leaks ALL the time. Now, not so much, but you see all these coil failures.
    Nissan is the worst, but Honda has many as well and a few VW's. The 'new $$$ failure item" for the car manufacturers? Nissan puts their shoes on (most of them) with a special bolt that is next to impossible to remove (hence, no changing the coil). Also, many of the Nissans (all?) have a diode mounted across the face of the coil winding, over the poly-seal, that ultimately rubs the pulley just enough to wear through after XXX number of miles? Mysterious! Like I said, I would get me a good attorney.
    Glad I went further to see him check AT the compressor. Good job! Thank you.

    At 12:40 mark, how are you disconnecting the electrical connection?
    Is there something you have to squeeze, pry, etc.?
    Can't figure this part out.

    Thank you, excellent video as always. I have a question about compressor oil for a 2009 Altima 2.5.
    I bought a Denso compressor for this car, I was checking if there was oil inside. So I flipped the compressor over and started turning it over but not one drop came out. Does this mean there was no oil?
    The reason I'm asking is because when I was filling it up with oil later (150 ml) the oil would filled all the way up the low side inlet like it was overflowing. The car is doing fine now but I'm just worried I may put too much oil.

    My ac compressor on 09 Murano was changed.. A/c blew cold for a moment the next day ac did not work. Is it because they didn’t evacuate and recharge it? Please help when these compressors don’t work the whole car is useless. Thanks in advance!!

    Do you have to flush the system before replacing the compressor ? I had too on my old 2003 dodge truck -wanst sure if same on all vehicles?

    • @Autofixpals
      @Autofixpals  5 лет назад

      if you suspect that the compressor failed internally and there is metal in the system then, its definitely a good idea.

    How does a set of gauges help you to recover the refrigerant from the system ? Don't you also need a pump and a vessel to capture the freon ?

    • @Autofixpals
      @Autofixpals  5 лет назад

      The gauges wont help you recover. But it will help you determine if your system has some type of charge or if its empty.

      Thank you Sam! I have the VQ35. My complications is trying to get to the thermostat housing(all 3 bolts) because of this video, i invested into the cordless ratchet. Good investment to me. Im wondering if i cab get it with that ratchet. Also I've only found two good total videos on the engines similar to mine and that's this one and one other. My actual engine has more to within through than this car in this video but I understand the strategy is still the same. Thank you for all of the links. I will definitely check those out.

      I have an 14 Altima. My main concerns with my engine is the thermostat and getting to those two screws at the back of the intake manifold plenum(I think that's thr proper term for it).
      If this helps, the serpentine belt and pulleys are behind the passenger front wheel. I do have the gearwrench serpentine belt tool removal set that maybe I can use to finish something? Just a thought. Im sure I can get the job done now though. I was just told I'd have to get to that bolt to the thermostat from underneath the car instead of under the hood. I made this attempt 1.5 years ago and failed because I couldn't reach that bottom bolt from under the hood to remove the thermostat assembly. If this make any sense.

  • @galinstan5603

    Why was it necessary to replace the entire compressor ? Could you not have just replaced the magnet clutch assembly ?

    • @Autofixpals
      @Autofixpals  5 лет назад

      It is possible to replace just the clutch, however There is the possibility that it wont come apart easily, and compressor replacement is the most reliable repair on a vehicle with some age on it. We don't want to repair this AC system again in 20k miles because the internals of the compressor has failed. I dont know that it will or it wont. But i do know that a New compressor is the most reliable repair. yes it costs more, But in the long run a customer that has to come back for a similar repair in a short amount of time is a customer that we may not have as a customer moving forward.

    • @Autofixpals

      probably thermostat, could be head gaskets. Hard to say without looking at it. could be mix door issue, clogged heater core, etc, etc.. try thermostat first. if that doesnt fix it and all else is in working order. start looking at the possibility of a blow headgasket.
