I’m in my mid 20s wishing the same man, no clue how to pick myself up and push for my own good, i’m simply letting things get out of hand and lose my grip. I want to succeed so badly but I never commit
I had to say, I really appreciate how you edited the video without background music like some youtubers do(this also proves your point about distractions). Great vid, thanks!
I’ve just completed my 4 year degree and reflecting back: this video provides much more realistic advice on productivity than the garbage I was filling my head with. A lot of the content I was consuming on productivity was extreme, making me feel guilty with the high stakes of a do or die mentality - very non empathetic to the human condition and experience. If anything, it added to the internalised frustration of why I couldn’t be more productive and lapse. This video feels different where it does acknowledge that “willpower” is not something that is sustainable if I haven’t nurtured the prime environment (sleep, energy levels, distractions). Regretful that I wasn’t able to get the most out of my degree without validating my experiences in this way, but excited to apply similar principles in my life moving forward. Thanks Clark for reminding me life is quite doable!
I appreciate your clarity as well. I look back on my college experiences similarly - if I had understood how food and sleep and exercise could have helped, I'd like to think I'd be significantly healthier now. But, my life would be different, and that's something I'd rather not trade. It's pretty good as-is.
I instantly subbed when you told your story about experiencing panic attacks for the first time, literally identical to what happened to me and I appreciate that you were able to grow out of that
Give yourself time and space to be golden Seems like the principal comes back to the Dr. K “do less with more intention in order to do more overtime” If you’re eating, watching a show, going on a walk, working on something, eliminate as many distractions and put your time and focus into those individual things and really try and get as much out of even the most trivial things. You’ll be squeezing as much out of life as you should rather than the task switching malaise we may all be doin’.
Bro i love you just changed my life forever. All i wanted was to get over this girl but you gave me more than enough to realize how deep i was in my sleep
🎯 Key points for quick navigation: 00:13 *💡 Productivity advice is often misleading, and instead of trying to be productive at everything, you should focus on the right things.* 00:57 *⚠️ Overworking can have serious health consequences. A personal experience of burnout highlights the importance of balancing work and personal well-being.* 03:28 *🎯 Focus on one thing at a time, as this is the key to success. Major companies thrive by focusing on a singular core product or service.* 05:04 *⏳ Willpower is finite, and understanding its limits can help you manage your energy and make better decisions throughout the day.* 07:09 *🌅 Manage your energy, not your time. Identify your "golden hours" for peak productivity and "siesta hours" for rest to maintain sustainable performance.* 09:13 *💼 The 80/20 rule: Focus on the 20% of tasks that yield 80% of the results, rather than wasting time on unimportant tasks.* 10:23 *🗂️ Instead of daily to-do lists, create a weekly success list, focusing only on high-priority tasks to increase productivity and reduce overwhelm.* 11:33 *🚫 Multitasking is a myth. Task switching reduces efficiency and increases the time it takes to complete meaningful work. Focus on one task at a time.* 15:11 *⏰ Time-blocking and batching tasks improves focus and reduces task-switching, leading to higher productivity and more efficient work.* 17:16 *🧠 Developing new habits takes time-around 66 days, not just 21. 9:45… this principle remains true in investing and trading… 80% of your profits come from 20% of your trading days… also you can spend 80 days with an investment and most of those gains come from a 20 day period.
I got a space homestead with a few ducks, bunnies, chickens, and 2 pigs maybe 1-2hrs of work there. I work 8hr days 6:30am-4:30pm counting commute to and from work, I try to workout 30 minutes a day, meal prep 20-30 minutes getting 1-3 meals, and I give myself an hour to watch TV and relax. Shower and bed. Also I made a budget along with time management where I have an hour or two to socialize. I did it by setting alarms on my phone. I know it sounds stupid but it’s been working so far. I would love to figure out my hours of productivity. I will start tracking that. Loved the video break time is over have a great day. I appreciate it.
My first 3 years in the work force I was grinding constantly any way I could add income or increase my network of people I was doing it. Experiencing the same level of guilt as Stated in the video. Until I made the decision to pull back. my income dropped 25-30% and I worked on my own happiness and contentment. 2 years later I am now able to conquer my own emotions a lot better, and this year is my year of hopeful and positive productivity, because I AM the pilot.
Hi Clark - I just happened upon your video this morning, and when you were talking about to do lists I remembered that chip and I received many years ago that I still use today it’s called the Eisenhower matrix. It’s four steps. There are four categories: Urgent and important (these are the things that you do), important but not urgent (schedule these for later or another day), urgent, but not important (you can delegate these to someone else), and finally not urgent and not important and you just get rid of these ones. It has helped me be more productive for years and I just wanted to share it with you. I do love the book The One Thing - in fact, I’m going to read it again. Cheers and I have subscribed - I’m looking forward to catching up on your other videos.

Also, I never considered how much willpower is tied to energy levels rather than time-definitely going to find my “golden hours” now. And the whole multitasking thing?
