Hi Irene. Thank you for the video. As a Lebanese American living in the US, I am always hopeful to retire one day in Italy. I call it my home away from home away from home.😂 Nespole tree is loquat. Has so much benefits. The leaves can be brewed and drank as tea. Helps with reducing blood sugar. The flowers can be brewed to alleviate cough. Tell your mom to use fish manure for her flowers. They love it.
Keep up the good job Irene! This is something that I always wish to watch because it really shows us the daily life of an Italian. The food, the market, the surrounding, the culture, etc ❤! I’m from Malaysia 👋🏻!
Outstanding Beautiful love watching your videos. Keep them coming. You definitely live in a beautiful part of the world. Most of all, the place of the best food on earth.
This is a fine way to learn more about Calabrian culture and the way your family lives. I enjoy preparing food and shopping for ingredients, so your shopping trip was fascinating. And yes: your father is a handsome man with exceptional blue eyes. It is good that he has a loving daughter.
Fascinating! I Love the jar of Bomba hot chilli haha. How do you eat Mousse of Onion? On bread? As a pickle or chutney? Perhaps next video you can show us how you prepare some of the different products. We have net bags of Walnuts in the UK but only in the supermarket at Christmas time in UK. Can you film some Festa with music and fun?
I just found you video Irene. My Mother’s name is Irene and her/my family is originally from Calabria. San Giovanni in Fiore. My relatives still live in the ancestral home. I have never been to visit them but now you make me interested in this beautiful area.
I really like how you make comments and write them in italian and English to describe! Like when you said poverini, pomodorro secchi, like that is now embedded in my head as you walked it through the video😊🙌🏽
Buona sera, Irene. Thank you for another video. You really do a great job showing the types of foods commonly seen in a Calabrian supermarket. I did not realize that spicy is so popular there. Also, your father always seems very calm and mellow (calma e dolce). Italians like to yell, but your father always seems very relaxed and "chill." 🙂 Lastly, as someone studying Italiano, you taught me a new word today: essiccare (secco, secca, secchi, e secche). Grazie. Buona serata from Minnesota in the United States.
yes we spend every day screaming, but how can she say this nonsense, she's probably never been to Italy, like thinking that Americans are drunks who piss themselves on weekends
Great video as always, Irene love the content. I’ve been to South Italy like Amalfi coast, Positano and Capri. I had a great time there. I fell in love with everything about Italy 🇮🇹. Will definitely go back there soon! My next trip is to Lake Como and Venice 😊

Irene I don't know where to start. I watch a lot of RUclips. It's how I learn before I travel to a region. You're such a lovely young woman and love to see you and your father and your mother. My daughter is 28 and I am 70 and we like to travel together. I have always had a dream to own a home and live part of my life in italy. For the last 8 years I have been living in Chang. Mi, Thailand and I love it. But the Thailand government has decided to begin to tax us old people. So so I have decided to travel 6 months out of the year.. To prevent them from claiming me as a tax resident. My plan is to live 3 months out of every 6 months in Italy and do the same traveling back to Thailand. I have been watching videos to decide where to travel and look for my new home.. Thank you for your videos they are a wealth of information.
Hi Irene! I love your videos, The simplicity Of life in smaller towns and the beautiful relationship you have with your family- something that I living in NY now deeply miss from back home. I am also interested to know which camera you use for your vlogs? Big hug from NY
I love your channel since my four great grandparents are from southern Italy and we visit family four times a year. BTW in the US we do have amazing beautiful and large walnuts grown in California. 💖
Actually yes you can find walnuts in the supermarket in the U.S.. In the grocery store I go to, they’re often loose in a box and you take how many you want and weigh them in a bag. The bread on the other hand, no. I’m so jealous of that selection you have! All those gorgeous loafs of bread that aren’t loaded with artificial junk. That looks like heaven!
Another beautiful video Irene, I love watching how life is lived in the south of Italy I holiday in Southern Italy every year. I would like to see the coffee culture in Naples or in the cities of Calabria
Hi beautiful Irene. This morning you convinced three of my friends to spend their next holidays in Calabria! One of them wants to ask your dad for Calabrian language lessons😁 since she says that Babbel doesn't know this beautiful language..🥰
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ bellissimi Soriano e Sorianello. Ho fame.
CIO' FAMEEE!!! Come sempre like meritato!
I recently had a trip to Galipoli with my friends all the way from Poland by car. Pulia, and all southern Italy are breathtaking. Cant imagine to not go there at least once a year. Greetings from Poland;)
Slice of Calabrian life. Your parents house is very nice. Like the tour of the market. When I was in Rome I bought some bags of biscotti in a small market. Don't remember the brand but it tasted like it was made that morning in an Italian bakery. Sadly those bags never made it back to NYC. Decided to eat them in Rome. Want to go to Naples and try many of the pizzerias there and compare to the best New York pizzerias.
My family was from Calabria. I would love so to visit. My husband and I visited Bari, lecce, matera, amalfi ,salerno, last November. I would love to find my family ...however I speak no Italian. Curcio is our surname.

I don't think it is necessary to mention their passing away specially when her father is still young.❤
