You are most welcome. It was a combination of different methods. First I saw if any work had been done with that particular flower already. Many have been used for decades (such as the Bach Flower line). If there was less information about them, I would compile what I could and then used the plant communication techniques that I learned in herb school. So a lot of them are a combination of research, meditation and automatic writing.
I have started taking star of Bethlehem for grief. The sceptic in me wonders if this may be a placebo effect. Do plants tell us what they are good for? How do we know?
This is both a beautiful and important question to ask. It is also a bit complex, so I will do my best to verbalize my thoughts and feelings on this (knowing that of course these are just my thoughts and feelings and not necessarily "truth"). First, I think being a skeptic in this day and age is an important trait so definitely keep doing that (just my two cents for what its worth). So it is my firm belief and practice that plants do indeed speak to us. However, they do not speak to us in ways or terms that we would easily und that is easily understood by the egoic parts of our brain. Meaning, we need to suspend the concept of logic and be willing to accept a) that plants do have souls and b) that they are willing and able to communicate with us if we are open to their communications. This takes both trust and practice in my experience. Our ego will eagerly talk us out of what our soul and intuition knows to be true. Plants often communicate through intuition, feelings, colours and sometimes symbols. Rarely do I personally get actually receive words. So when we make flower essences that do not already have information available about their uses, we would have to rely on these extrasensory ways of communicate to glean what the flower essence is for. In addition, we would take the flower essence and diligently document what shifts in feelings and physical conditions we have experienced. I truly hope this is making sense or at least providing you with some insight. As for the placebo effect... that is darn powerful! So many studies have been done on the placebo effect and how it can, in some ways preform miracles. So if everything I have said previously doesn't resonate or sit well with you I can simply ask... if it is placebo and its helping you move through grief, are you okay with that? Does it diminish the effects, guidance or help it is now providing you with. Anywho, BIG topic that I hopefully did some justice. Yes you can combine, but if you get to a point where you have too many (more than 6-7) it could indicate a lack of clarity. They don't really have a smell to them at all so wearing them for scent purposes won't work. They are meant to be taken internally as energetic/emotional remedies.

Can you use multiple flower essences at the same time? Of course not talking about using one that boosts energy and another relaxing one for example

I would say no, but the belief in plants having a spiritual (or non physical aspect that we cannot quantify) is apart of making flower essences 😊❤️
