Here is a great idea. Make it so that spooling for quantum is based on mass... so a cargo ship that is full could vastly speed up its spooling if it ejects the cargo. This could make fast escape possible if the player is willing to eject their cargo and it would give booty to the pirate without the need to kill the victim.
That's actually a great idea giving decision making, but it requieres a pass on EVERY CARGO SHIP with a system of ejection module. Yes Prospector blahblahblah but it's not just one ship with simple outside attached specific module. It would be a whole rework of the cargo area of everyship. It's not possible at the moment, they barely have time for things that matters
Maybe down the road. Seems like it would be a lot of work for something that would get little use. I'd rather have my ship destroyed as well as some of the cargo rather than give it up to someone else...that might just blow me up anyway.
Pirates are not after your cargo but to kill you, so you will eject the cargo just to get kill later, also the vast majority of the ships can't do that lol

@@jakepetropoulos1074 the Titan has the same carry capacity as the intrepid and a single size four as well. only diff is it also has the 2 size 3s. plus they both have a small cabin except the intrepid has a larger interior with engineering. if anything it seem less a starter than the titan tbh

Titan is going to get rebalanced at some point. Or its price will rise. Remember, the original design documents had the ship listed with 2 size 1 weapons under the wings and an EMPTY nose mount.

When the time comes where we can get atleast 1000+++ players ingame, CIG should push for LIVE venues where devs show up in their avatars etc. That would bring it home

Yeah like one a mining colony settler would own. One to really soread out your smaller items and live in. Would be good if more ships had a cool side entrance like the intrepid that does not require a locked in animation to enter The C1 needs that same side ramp.
exactly.. i realy dont care about combat anymore.. i want more stuff to do, make SC a Farming Simulator competitor. theres a mod for so many diffrent activites in that game with so many diffrent types of specialized vehicles.. thats what i want with spaceships and sci fi..
Am I the only one feeling conflicted about the design? It looks like they specifically made them not touch the ground fully which means vehicles may be a no-go. It looks like they also designed the opening to not fit a Nova tank despite the cargo pods being large enough to hold one...

FULL props to the team that put the Legionnaires segment together. As a lifelong fan of Return of the Jedi, the Alliance fleet mustering scene is burned into my mind and always brings a smile to my face. Well done!
Episode was excellent, so many interesting, funny, cool bits - but gotta admit that seeing Bugsmashers title on the screen and Mark Abent was just awesome.
1000% the higher TTK/TTD. It's a personal pet peeve of mine that so many games are just about mowing throwing millions of enemies in seconds. I know some people DO enjoy that, but I don't. I want to relish in the encounter, and have time to think, strategize and use all the tools at my disposal.
I agree, giving that SC is quite a slow game, it would be stupid to make death fast. it would create an environment where people are stacking in non-combat zones.

I'm a huge proponent of high TTK in games in general so I love this. Way less deadly combos you can't do anything against or dying without ever firing back or having time to see your opponent.
Yeah, the high TTK and localized damage is a large part of what I enjoy about Mechwarrior. Knowing your opponent and yourself can offer an edge in cutting off their method of winning.
And because the Titan also has one? As well as 2 size 3s? I'm not sure what "edge" they're talking about... It may have a slight edge over the Cutter I guess...

@@SpaceTomatoI think single gun can be a bit stronger overall. Bigger impact when hit but bigger loss if miss. So I think it fine. More and faster hits are easier to stay on target imo. This might end up with more damage cause you be able to surpress shield better.

Another thing to break the immersion. They always said that the diamond laminate that is used for windows was the strongest part of the ship and now we are getting blastshield for it? bruh. Every other ship can suck it then i guess.
I appreciate the information but i feel like the devs still dont know what type of game they want. On one hand they want ships to be disabled instead of destroyed. So you have to induldge in repairing and retrieving your ship. Waiting for someone to pick you up from your disabled ship, get repair material and someone to transport you back to your ship and repair it. Which probably itself will cost you a lot of time. We're looking at at least 20+ minutes, likely more. 5-10 minutes waiting to find someone and have him come to you. 5 minutes to travel to a spacestation. 5 minutes to get your equipment and repair material. 5 minutes to find someone to transport you back. 5 minutes until you're at your ship.. 5-10 minutes to repair. Thats a lot of 5 minutes just to get your ship back and running. And on the otherhand they introduced the Nursa with new medbed mechanics, allowing you to simply respawn lots of times and as quick as possible so you can get right back into action. So why if your ship is disabled not just backspace and get a new ship while you claim your other ship and wait for its claim timer to finish. I feel like there is a disparity between certain aspects of the game... with the medbed changes they try to fasten up the game, on the other hand they try to keep it slow and immersive.
12:10 i jumped back into the game last week after not playing for 3 years (I was culled by bugs) and this is exactly what i feel like. Until by the end of the dog fight i look over my poor little nomad and realized i scrapped by the skin of my teeth but it felt heroic and if i died i would have taken a dozen ships with me in a firey ball of glory. I eventually hop out and use the repair tool to at least patch the hull up a little if i havent lost anything major I'll go out again. It's been such a cool experience thanks for all the hard work

I think Hero means protagonist here. Not so much of a "you have to save the world" narrative, but more of a "you are the protagonist of your own story, whatever that looks like, and you need to have the opportunity to actually experience that story"

5-10 minutes waiting to find someone and have him come to you. 5 minutes to travel to a spacestation. 5 minutes to get your equipment and repair material. 5 minutes to find someone to transport you back. 5 minutes until you're at your ship.. 5-10 minutes to repair. Thats a lot of 5 minutes just to get your ship back and running.
And on the otherhand they introduced the Nursa with new medbed mechanics, allowing you to simply respawn lots of times and as quick as possible so you can get right back into action.
So why if your ship is disabled not just backspace and get a new ship while you claim your other ship and wait for its claim timer to finish.
I feel like there is a disparity between certain aspects of the game... with the medbed changes they try to fasten up the game, on the other hand they try to keep it slow and immersive.

12:10 i jumped back into the game last week after not playing for 3 years (I was culled by bugs) and this is exactly what i feel like. Until by the end of the dog fight i look over my poor little nomad and realized i scrapped by the skin of my teeth but it felt heroic and if i died i would have taken a dozen ships with me in a firey ball of glory. I eventually hop out and use the repair tool to at least patch the hull up a little if i havent lost anything major I'll go out again. It's been such a cool experience thanks for all the hard work

I think Hero means protagonist here. Not so much of a "you have to save the world" narrative, but more of a "you are the protagonist of your own story, whatever that looks like, and you need to have the opportunity to actually experience that story"
