Crackling, popping, and other sound problems can occur for a variety of reasons. You may be able to fix the problem by adjusting your audio device settings, updating your sound driver, or pinning down another hardware device that’s interfering. Here are some things to try.
Before you start messing with settings, it’s worth checking your hardware itself. If a cable connection is loose, this could cause some sound problems. Ensure all your audio cables are connected securely. If the problem persists, here are a few potential solutions.
This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, Alienware, Razer, MSI, Huawei , Microsoft Surface, and Samsung. - Наука

You can click the + sign and go into the power settings and show them, it's not going to bite lol...
yea still i couldnt figure out what he is saying
I've had so many issues with Windows 11 in just under two days
Thanks so much!!!! I had a small heart attack when my headset started crackling loud and this video helped with just switching back and forth the audio formats
Bro this fixed this my issue too. What is the cause?
My audio still crackles in games when I'm in calls while playing games or some games that just crackle. I have a ASRock B550M Steel Legend motherboard and I'm not sure if it has to do with the drivers, because I updated them, but still got no luck.
I had this issue but found out it was the USB C cable going to my dock. It wasn't a TRUE thunderbolt cable and probably couldnt handle all my stuff that I had connected, causing the crackling. I replaced it with good thunderbolt 20Gbps cable and the crackling went away.
What sound card do you have that was experiencing these pops n clicks?
You are magnificent. I'm currently using ifi Zen DAC v2 and Zen CAN, and when I updated(?) my laptop to windows 11 this poppoing and cracking noise came up from nowhere.
After reducing the Hz down to 96k it's all fixed. (Now I'm thinking that Windows 11 may not have auto audio format configuration function)
It worked when I disabled sound enhancement... then 5 hours later the popping returned.
Ive copied your video and changed hdmi leads and im still getting the cracklung have u got any idea what could cause this has its doing my head in many thanks in advance
None of the options worked for me, what did the trick was me going into BIOS and select Disable for both Above 4G Decoding and Resizable Bar, now the audio plays properly most of the time instead the usual stutter that it happened before.
I dont have option to go on cd quality??
Littke update, solved problem by plugin in usb 3.1 port.
I've been looking for this problem's solution for two weeks.
And thanks to your first advice I'm at last happy to leave it behind!
Glad I could help!
in speaker options i can't change the sample rate. Its stuck on 48000 and theres no option to change, bcs the drop down bar isnt there. Im sure this is causing the cracking sound. WHy is there no drop down bar for this?
I tried all of this... nothing works so far. The sound works as per normal just using my laptops' own speakers, but when I plug-in my headphones the audio suddenly crackles like crazy. Any ideas for a solution?
It's probably a bad cable or connector. Try rotating the male part of the cable (where it plugs into the computer) see if it crackles while doing that or stops. Sometimes you can find a sweet spot where it's totally fine. My headset will do it once in a while, I rotate it a little and it's fine.
Yeah it's either the cable or jack
i dont have the option to change the quality , its just greyed out...
anyone know how to fix it ?
mine shows no other option to choose from under sample rate and bit depth other than16 bit 4800 HZ,. nothing more on the drop down
Thank you! This solved my issue while specifically clicking through a youtube video somewhat rapidly to try to find a certain part. The popping was awful and this eliminated it!
Glad it helped
Lowering audio quality works on low-spec machines to fix crackling while playing audio, but to fix pops while going to/from idle you need to disable power state D3 for your audio driver in the Windows registry.
Is there a video of this?
@@Gonzo3313 Not that i know of, but i did answer my own question on Super User.
i only have a popping problem and its happening randomly but it scales with the volume sound
Wow, outstanding! First tip fixed everything! Thank you!
Glad it helped!
OMG thank you SOOO much!!! I was going nuts!!! What fixed it for me was the first tip - Power Option. I was in energy saver mode even on a Tower. I got the HP Omen with windows 11. Thank you!!
Glad it helped
same here i have hp omen 16, but one problem for me is that my battery runs out so quicklyyyy
It seems to be related to the Realtek audio driver, the latest versions to be more exact, try installing old versions of the driver and the problem should be resolved, unless Windows reinstalls the latest version of the driver again, then There's nothing to do
Did nothing - The speakers are fine 95% of the time... It's weird I don't move them but every so often they just start off crackling.
The PCI Express fix worked a charm.
How do i fix not being able to hear footsteps 😊
take your antipsychotics i think that will help
that's great! thanks so much! first solution fixed it. even my Premiere exports were being affected. love and success for you
Glad it helped!
wont let me change the speaker quality, I use a laptop so that may be why but I haven't been able to find a fix. if you know anything else that might help please let me know. also whenever I restart my laptop it stops the crackling for around 5-10 minutes
same thing for me
@@simpyt3469 i found that if you change surround sound it temporarily stops the issue but any games like mc will have no audio after the fix discord with need you to leave and rejoin a call to get audio back but besides that its a good fix
@@simpyt3469 also pretty sure it has something to do with out of date drivers
@@simpyt3469 updated all my drivers and it still isn't working idk how to fix it but if i find a way I'll tell you
@@tian4037 i fixed same issue in my laptop by disabling audio enhancement in the advanced tab of speaker properties, try that.
For me going to:
> _Control panel_
> _Sound_
> right click on _Speakers/Headphones_
> _Properties_
> _Advanced_
> and uncheck _Enable audio enhancements_
...seems to have fixed all the popping/crackling sounds I've encountered with on Lenovo Ideapad 3 laptop.
And the funniest part is the sound quality has even became better for me than with "enhancements"
My ears & sensory thanks you deeply right now it worked!!! I figured there was something with some kind of sound that was too high pitched or something. thank you again this video was educational & straight to the point I was able to follow right along & fix the sound issues.
Hi , my question is not related to this video but omg I tried everything with my computer and nothing works. My computer was reset to factory and now is back to windows 7 and I can’t browse internet, I tried to search but get a message to update browser , when I click on it is telling there’s a problem with website security certificate. If you know how can i can fix this pls let me know, thank you!
You could try to upgrade to Windows 10.
Go to the Microsoft website and download or upgrade to Windows 10, this will surely fix your problem.

I'm down from 96000 Hz to 44100 Hz, which seems to be the sweet spot for my setup. Solved the horrid RUclips sound crackle! Thanks!
Edit: had to go to 48000 Hz to stop the crackle
Glad I could help!
It actually worked! Thank you!
My audio is perfectly clear when online, anything offline cracks! Help please?

TYSM MY ADRENALINE WENT SO HIGH WHEN THIS HAPPENED I THOUGH THERE WAS A HACKER!!! LOVE THIS CHANNEL SO MUC
Glad it helped
I've been struggling with this issue but none of the fixes I've seen worked.
What finally did work though was uninstalling the Realtek Audio driver and all associated software. I'm using a HyperX headset and it uses it's own driver and everything, so I guess it was conflicting with the Realtek driver. Once I uninstalled the Realtek stuff and restarted my system all the popping is gone...THANK FRICKIN JESUS!!!
Oh my gosh finally I can do stuff without that horrible static noise
Glad it helped
thank you, no more crackling for me, i appreciate the help :)

This is chrome only, all other search engines work fine.
And what is extremely strange is that it occurred on both computers at the same time. Before that, it was triggered by STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION. All years no problem, now even update don't give a shit.
