I've been using Cync bulbs for a year, GE product... but they have been phenomenal and have had no issues with the app or the bulbs... unfortunately they weren't part of this comparison, so I don't know where they would rank
Thank you SO much! I have been looking for a video to break this down! I've recently decided to get a smartbulb and I'm so lost on what to do. This video helped more than you know!
Thank you! You deserve more views.
Thanks for doing this review and giving you end result opinion. For me, it would've helped a LOT if you put the price per bulb in parentheses after the name on your ranking lists. i.e. Wyze($8).
Because if a bulb ranked one spot higher in one of your tests...but costs 4x more!...I'll take the 2nd place. :)
Great job and thank you.
Glad it was helpful!

I wish the audio quality of your video was a bit better- Good video of bulb comparison
Thanks for the feedback, we’ve invested in more equipment
great test of colored bulbs and glad to see you all chose wyze which are the bulbs I have been using and have been wondering if other brands would be better
You guys just made my decision very easy. Thanks!
Glad to hear!
Was CRI tested at both ends of the color temp range?? Is there somewhere I may see the full spectrometer CRI readings for each bulb? Thanks
Yes they were, and no we have not shared that data publicly other than what’s reported in this video.
Im trying so hard to find one that is bright in rgb mode. Im wondering why these companies wont make at least one model thats bright even if its more expensive
Thanks guys.
Did you test the CRI yourselves? Thank you for your video.
Yeah using the meter that I rented
@@BrandonDoyleMN Thank you. I do find it very difficult choosing, like most people. Your video has helped. The thing for me is that I want a very high CRI and a programmable Sicanian Rythm, but I don't like to spend too much. Not an easy position to be in. I have loathed poor quality LED lighting for over a decade, and to be honest, I am a little disappointed that so little quality lighting is available.
Hey can you do a video about the generic light bulb brands or recommend some please, cause only the generic is in my budget since smart bulbs like wyze cost almsot 25$ a piece if I want to ship to me
The Hook Up just compared a bunch of standard LED bulbs and did a great job with that video, I highly recommend checking out his channel
I was actually considering Wyze for my next bulb, however, I went with Wiz, as I've also heard good things, and so far they have had very few problems. Looking on Amazon revealed that the Wyze bulbs have a growing amount of critical reviews to to firmware issues, and quality issues as far as the bulbs lasting long term. How have your Wyze bulbs fared long term ? The price is good for the Wyze, but I don't want to invest in them, if they aren't going to be stable long term. Good video, and would be curious to hear your thoughts.
So far they've held up very well. We've got a few different brands going right now including Hue & Wyze, I did remove all my LIFX bulbs due to connectivity issues
@@BrandonDoyleMN Glad to hear it. I've decided to go with the Wiz lights for the time being. They have the A21 model which I prefer that bulb size in my bedroom lights. They really get bright, and they are brighter than the Wyze bulb at 1600 lumens. For the bulbs that do better with the A19 sized bulbs, I did the Wiz 800 lumen bulbs in those.
Will keep wyze in mind, if I encounter any show stopping problems with my current upgrade.
what about roku vs wyze?
Roku is a licensed version from Wyze, they simply layered their software on top so you can control within the Roku app.
Thanks a lot guys ✊🏾
Our pleasure!
I suggest an outside the box approach and test out exterior rgb lightbulbs. I believe they push out brighter RGB colors. And i for one dont care if i have to put an external lightbulb indoors cuz i just want something that is actually bright when im rgb mode.
most if not all of these can be used outdoors, I'd have to check the boxes though
@@BrandonDoyleMN i mentioned outdoor bulbs that kinds cone shaped because those tend to be brighter but not sure. The rgb on these are sooo weak. I dony care if i have to pay more for it i just need to find one that is bright with color not just whites.
My mother is legally blind and suffer from night blindness it is difficult for her to see with low or standard light bulbs what are some good bright bulbs to brighten the home?
Look for any bulb with high lumen count, it should be right on the box. We highlighted some of the brightest bulbs here, but if you're purchasing standard bulbs or even smart bulbs that dim but don't do color there may be even brighter options. Philips Hue's newest smart bulb is 1100 lumens
@@BrandonDoyleMN thank you so very much for responding
Didn't Lifx win or ranked top in most categories? How did Wyze win?
It did perform well, but Wyze actually performed the best. I've also noted connectivity issues with LIFX
Honestly, 60w equivalent is dingy and too dark. Why are so many manufacturers so reluctant to put out 100w equivalent? Even 2 of those aren't necessarily dark enough to lift up a whole room, which is often the ask in ceiling fans.
agreed, in most cases brighter is better!
What about Nanoleaf?
Didn't have one available for testing at the time, I guess we'd better do it all over again!
@@BrandonDoyleMN What I meant was that I thought Nanoleaf was one of the most famous ones.
@@rodrigoruiz976 Nanoleaf gets more attention on channels that focus on homekit since they're compatible. They may have been out of stock or something back when I purchased all the bulbs for this video
Wyze bulbs will let you down, I've had them for a year, the app crashes OFTEN, and the red and blue aren't as saturated as they used to be, it's very frustrating as red is my favorite color. Now, it looks like red food coloring washed out with water.
Well that's disappointing to hear, we haven't had any issues with ours but don't use them a ton
The app never crashes for me. You probably just have a dated device, no offense. Wyze is the goat
Hey good evening nice technology i have two bulb like these i wish they had most brighness but my country is so shameful they dont sense technology they sense crime
Wiz is JUNK, worst lights with crappy connection
Yeah, it’s the budget line of Philips Hue
@@BrandonDoyleMN What do you consider is the best, I'm looking to do my house? Thanks :-)
@@zeetrain9625 the new Philips Hue bulbs that are brighter are nice, but if your just going for bang for your buck, I’d go with Wyze. For our house we have Philips Hue in patio and my office, most of our house is just regular dimmable bulbs with smart switches though
