I was watching this vocal coach last week critique Steve Perry, all the techniques that Steve uses, vocal ranges etc... so guess what I was doing lol. Great job, I like the fact that this band is not afraid to go after the classics.

I cannot believe Shallow Side doesn't have more followers.

I would have gone a little darker with the guitar parts, added a bit more chug with a deeper bass leaning, but overall I really liked this cover. Next time though, I would probably lean a little more into the metal "thumpings," and less on the gallop/subdivided picking patterns. It's a bold move to cover Journey and you did NOT do a disservice for this song. Good job!

i didnt enjoy this as much as Renegade or some for the original tracks from SS, i suspect its a track that will never have a good cover and nothing to do with talent of SS. i used to like the original that i hated on last few years. i still have a lot of respect for Shallow Side talent and hoping for more new music in original and covers :)

@@ochiamu Rationalization... What does that have to do with anything? You can have a different style and still perform the original key. Besides, the singing style was no different than the original as far as how the notes are approached.
