That trombone solo is SICK! Love it!
Seven thumbs down? They probably clap on the 1 and the 3.
i get your reference fren. and i agree.
Rest in peace, Mr. Toussaint. Beautiful voice, piano, horn charts.
I always like it when people use the proper "further" instead of "farther" (which denotes physical distance).
Ding-Dong 💗
Good lord, so good to see everyone showing up. Love to all RIP Mr. Toussaint...you are sorely missed, thanks to you for your music
Cross easy, Brother. We'll go on somehow.
R.I.P. Allen Toussaint! You were absolutely amazing. You will be truly missed.
I hope to catch up with him in the great by and by.
Ain't enough NOLA soul bein' played these days. Toussaint, Ernie K-Doe, Lee Dorsey: If their music don't shake your soul, you be missing your frontal cortex.

Facts
This is great, but....if you try to cover The Meters, those are some big funky-ass shoes to fill
The whole enchilada is great-lead vocals, back up vocals, trombone,guitar,bass,drums,piano,organ...
Sick music! Our band are gonna play this infront of 1700 people at "lilleskolefestivalen" 👍
Love this!!!!!!
Thank you forever.
Best comment ever (on music and a great singer man). Alenn is a Saint. a singing angel.
Sam "Big Sam" Williams in bone solo OMG!!!!
Hey,s there's Brother Amadee Castinelle on the tenor sax!!
what a guy
It should be noted that Allen Toussaint wrote this incredible song, words and music, alone. I'm a tremendous Elvis Costello fanatic, but his name only appears first here because that's how the album The River in Reverse is billed. His backing vocal is his only involvement on this number.
Now someone tell me why it cuts so abruptly! It should fade out at 5:04.
We may seem happy like everything's alright
But from the outside looking in
Everything's uptight
But deep down inside we're covering up the pain
It's an old thing
It's a soul thing
But it's a real thing
Pray tell what’s gonna happen to brother
Who’s gonna help him get further
One another
One another
There's old dude standing on the corner
Waiting for a fox to pass
The only thing he's got to go by
Is this is where he saw her last
And there's old John, two dollars in his pocket
Talking loud and thinks he's rich
And look for little fool, too cool to go to school
Get a job, in two days he quits
Pray tell what’s gonna happen to brother
Who’s gonna help him get further
One another
Is that the truth?
One another
Yeah, you're right
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Pray tell what’s gonna happen to brother
Who’s gonna help him get further
One another
One another
Mama get up early, early in the morning
Papa's already gone
Going out a-working for half of what he's worth now
You know that it's wrong
What happen to the Liberty Bell I heard so much about?
Did it really ding-dong?
It must have dinged wrong
It didn't ding long
Pray tell what’s gonna happen to brother
Who’s gonna help him get further
One another
Is that the truth?
One another
Yeah, you're right
Mama get up early, early in the morning
Papa's already gone
Working two jobs for half of what he's worth now
You know that it's wrong
What happen to the Liberty Bell I heard so much about?
Did it really ding-dong?
It must have dinged wrong
It didn't ding long
Pray tell what’s gonna happen to brother
Who’s gonna help him get further
One another
Is that the truth?
One another
Yeah, you're right
Pray tell what’s gonna happen to brother
Who’s gonna help him get further
One another
Is that the truth?
One another
Yeah, you're right
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah

Costello's involvement is also bringing in half of this incredible band actually, who do sound better than the one on the original Lee Dorsey version. The reason Costello's name is listed first is alphabetical reasons. Also, I believe he wrote and sang the majority of the songs on the album itself.
Garrett Ramirez Garrett, thanks for pointing out what I had overlooked! I’m truly a huge Costello fan as you can see here, so I certainly wasn’t trying to diminish him but only to give Toussaint his due since it struck me that casual viewers might overlook it.
ruclips.net/video/lXpq8H3DV9Y/видео.html Oh, of the 13 tracks on the album (I’m looking at my CD) I see that 7 are credited as Toussaint compositions, 5 as collaborations between the men and one (the title track) to Costello.
Thanks again!
it;s a real thang..
kajunmoon
