I’ve used Apple Car Play for years and I have never once, and I mean ever, experienced lag, sluggish, or an error using it. This is completely opinion based and based off my experience. I just prefer that system.
Tell me your liar without saying you’re a liar. Never? Lmao we had to unplug it many times from freezes and you have to restart your iPhone to reset it. Android doesn’t have to do that if it occurs. It’s actually worked better for us. CarPlay was always an issue in our experience.
On Android Auto, if you have a smaller display in your car, then the taskbar is actually on the bottom, on larger screens, it’s on the side. With Apple CarPlay, the taskbar is on the side no matter your screen size.
When I started at my current workplace in April at an electrical company I had a coworker helping me out. We used the same car which was a newer Ford Custom van and would switch between our phones depending on who was passenger to choose music we liked and could share. Ive used both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto because of it since i have an Android and he has an iPhone, and they're both incredibly similar. They do the exact same things which means that the most noticeable difference is that the menus look different. Both of them so their work really well. Both are still better than the normal infotainment system though. Manufacturers infotainment systems are always horrible lol.
A funny thing is if you use Apple Maps with CarPlay and you have an Apple Watch the watch will make some little beep sound to keep your attention and take a turn
Just an update.... I looked for an update for my cars oem navigation update, which is the display on my KIA. The manufacturers showed there was an update available. I downloaded it on a USB stick and installed it. Guess what, I plugged in my Pixel and Android auto coolwalk worked flawlessly. I really enjoy the update and my car because of this. I thought it was all in the app but the software on my navigation/display had to be updated as well.
@@carlos53k must've been coincidental, your car's infotainment system firmware is completely independent of CarPlay or Auto's app version. Your version of Auto is completely dependent on what version you got from Google Play.
@@DL_Burga no coincidence because I noticed it worked on my sister's car. So I thought to myself, let me see if there is an upgrade to the KIA navigation din, sure enough there was. As someone who was a die hard android user for the last 10 years, I just made the switch and purchased the iPhone 15. So thanks to that new update android auto has caught up to CarPlay? Can’t wait for next-gen CarPlay to absolutely annihilate it again. took android auto 9 years to catch up to first-gen CarPlay.
Yes!! Can’t wait for the apple carOS. I personally use apple because I love the simplicity and design and how everything just works. And carplay is SUPER road focused, quick, and easy to use, where as android auto is slow, buggy, and requires more attention. And while siri may be horrible on your iphone, when using it in carplay it’s amazing and you don’t even have to look at the screen
@@nickigagged i dont own a car with that functionality but it truly is a great feature if your car supports it. especially with apple watch, and still working when the phone is powered off
Unless that is only happening with their iPhone that’s not related to Apple CarPlay. It’s probably a bad cable, connection somewhere, or an aftermarket radio of low quality.
I’ve used CarPlay across 4 different vehicles The only time I’ve had issues with it disconnecting is when using shitty old cables. If your cables are in good condition or it’s wireless then there’s no problem
Our car has Apple CarPlay, and it’s amazing. It integrates Siri, so instead of using the vehicles ‘Voice Control’ or Alexa, it uses Siri with the press of a button on the steering wheel which is pretty great. And it’s much easier to use with a touch screen than what the vehicle in this video has.
Its not about looks. Apple carplay is so much smoother and optimized than Android auto. Try opening cameras when using google maps in android auto and android auto will crash. Also many instances where it is unstable
My main problem with Android Auto is it being consistently inconsistent. I had to have multiple USB-C cables because they’d stop working randomly and even when it did work, it would freeze or disconnect. I had a whole month of consistent Apple Car Play on an iPhone 8 when my Galaxy S20 could not. It’s sad because Android Auto is pretty nice.
Generally Apple car play is supported in more cars, even wireless over wired compared to android auto. Think cars like porches/mercs will also have huge black screen sections of android auto compared to Apple CarPlay filling the entire screen
Being a person who uses two phones regularly I have always noticed how all Apple's products look the cleanest and function the smoothest, but Android ones are always simply superior in terms of usefulness
Apple>>>>>>>Any Android Based on my experience. Apple will provide stable experience which you can trust on. yes android will provide you lot more freedom but for me security and privacy matters a lot.
It’s not that people just think so, it is exactly better. I have a friend who had tried both and yes he still has his Galaxy Fold phone which he uses with a Honda Accord 2019, it’s his verdict and the biggest complaint he has with Android auto is voice recognition.
Android Auto in the first couple years was HORRIBLE, happy for Android users that get this improved experience because CarPlay/Android Auto is way more helpful than I thought it’d be
The fact that Apple users continue to see an android device/feature one time and assume it never changes at all despite the fact that their own phones have never done that is absolutely ridiculous.
As a CarPlay user for the past 2 years, I really gotta say; both are absolutely essential, *but* on the other hand, both are lacking in 3rd-party app support. Why delivery gig apps still don’t have a CarPlay/AndroidAuto extension baffles me
I Love my wireless car play but it does drain my phone battery pretty quick, but I guess cause maps/gps are constantly running with podcast and/or music. So I just keep it plugger in and it’s fine.

Also Apple CarPlay connects wirelessly too
Android auto also has wireless capability. Depending on the car
Both does
this is the first time ive seen someone have to plug in their phone to use apple car play
both does if the car support that.
@@mrducky179 yeah basically every car that has carplay does it wirelessly except for the cars released when Carplay first came out back in 2014.
The music cues for each game were perfect.
The notifications on Apple CarPlay is way better android auto notifications block you from seeing everything while driving it makes crazy
On Android Auto, if you have a smaller display in your car, then the taskbar is actually on the bottom, on larger screens, it’s on the side. With Apple CarPlay, the taskbar is on the side no matter your screen size.
nope, CarPlay's dock can be on the bottom of the screen as well (the mustang mach e has it on the bottom)
carplay taskbar/dock is on the bottom on larger square-like ratio infotainment systems
The dock depends on the ratio. If ur screen is side, it will be on the side. If it's tall, then bottom
Bro has more notifications than I have gotten in my entire life 💀
Is that a CX-9 or CX-5? 😍
On my jeep wagoneer Apple CarPlay works wireless
And if you leave it on silent it will vibrate like crazy whenever you have a turn. It’s awesome
I still don't have that update on Android auto. I have a blank area on the right where you have Spotify.
The one that he showed isn't even the latest version that has even better split screen support
I know android auto app is independent from the head unit and cool walk is running from the phone app but the head unit had a little something to do with it, trust me.
idk why I’m here because my car is too old for Apple CarPlay
Could always add a CarPlay screen, some even aren’t too expensive
well just buy a new head unit display... almost all of them support either Android Auto or Carplay
My car is from 2016 but no carplay lol it only has cd, radio, bluetooth
I have an 04 Toyota and I have a double din Kenwood deck that has both. It’s awesome!!!
@@RichBatangKalyewhat car you got?
What’s funny is that all I saw was “Hi” on the AC! Never in my life have I ever had to set my car that high lol! I live in South Florida. It’s more like set it to 70 lol! 😂
As someone who was a die hard android user for the last 10 years, I just made the switch and purchased the iPhone 15. The last iPhone I owned was a 4S😂. iOS is far beyond what android has done, given that iOS tends to perfect what android puts out first. Android has its perks, but iPhone is my preference. Crazy
And while siri may be horrible on your iphone, when using it in carplay it’s amazing and you don’t even have to look at the screen
and adding on, apple wallet is just awesome how you can share your keys with others! and unlock your car and drive with a tap!
@@nickigagged i dont own a car with that functionality but it truly is a great feature if your car supports it. especially with apple watch, and still working when the phone is powered off
Apple car play looks awesome
a colleague of mine uses CarPlay. Disconnects every 5 to 20 minutes. I think I'll stick with Bluetooth
Unless that is only happening with their iPhone that’s not related to Apple CarPlay. It’s probably a bad cable, connection somewhere, or an aftermarket radio of low quality.
Thats a personal problem and ur talking like everyone experiences it
I’ve used CarPlay across 4 different vehicles
The only time I’ve had issues with it disconnecting is when using shitty old cables. If your cables are in good condition or it’s wireless then there’s no problem
I've used both. They both work great. Though there was some odd bugs using google maps on apple carplay
The android ui just looks “unpremium”
android auto disconnects way too much
this video is priceless. So deep and helpful.
I must appreciate the beautifully designed corners of carplay vs the sharp corners of android auto
I don't know if it's just the dark theme but Android auto looks way better
Your eyes going back-and-forth just triggered my epileptic shock
Apple CarPlay looks a lot more clean ngl, but google assistant is leaps and bounds ahead of siri
Apple’s whole OS thing is that its simpler to use but less personalised and customisable. For car infotainments their ideals are perfect.
Its not about looks. Apple carplay is so much smoother and optimized than Android auto. Try opening cameras when using google maps in android auto and android auto will crash. Also many instances where it is unstable
One of the best parts of Android Auto is when your passenger they have a microphone button that you can press in order to do things like play music
Man listening to Fiji blue made my day
I bought iPhone just for apple carplay. its Ui is Way more easy to use than the other. Google Pixel owner here
both are good plus they have the same setup so no issues changing. 😅
Wow lol nice way to compare which is nicer. Let's just look at this home screen real quick ...
"If that thing got the back camera shit its good" my 60 year old pops
Never used any of the two but CarPlay looks much better.
the navigation bar depends on the screen type. some taller screens have it on the bottom, others having it on the side.
Being a person who uses two phones regularly I have always noticed how all Apple's products look the cleanest and function the smoothest, but Android ones are always simply superior in terms of usefulness
Apple>>>>>>>Any Android
Based on my experience. Apple will provide stable experience which you can trust on. yes android will provide you lot more freedom but for me security and privacy matters a lot.
Yes it’s more important then freedom and I’m fine with it
It’s not that people just think so, it is exactly better. I have a friend who had tried both and yes he still has his Galaxy Fold phone which he uses with a Honda Accord 2019, it’s his verdict and the biggest complaint he has with Android auto is voice recognition.
Android Auto in the first couple years was HORRIBLE, happy for Android users that get this improved experience because CarPlay/Android Auto is way more helpful than I thought it’d be
Both are just way better than any car's with their own oprating system
The fact that Apple users continue to see an android device/feature one time and assume it never changes at all despite the fact that their own phones have never done that is absolutely ridiculous.
As a CarPlay user for the past 2 years, I really gotta say; both are absolutely essential, *but* on the other hand, both are lacking in 3rd-party app support. Why delivery gig apps still don’t have a CarPlay/AndroidAuto extension baffles me
I Love my wireless car play but it does drain my phone battery pretty quick, but I guess cause maps/gps are constantly running with podcast and/or music. So I just keep it plugger in and it’s fine.
i think that apple carplay looks and feels way better because apple has smooth edges and stuff
They’re also different depending on the vehicle and the standard infotainments capabilities.
Yoooo, you listen to Fiji Blue!!!!! That’s awesome, I can play a couple of his songs on guitar. it’s frickin cool to see a fellow fan
Apple will always look better
I think it’s mostly what is each person’s preference.
Exacly
