Eliminating 26 gates to be more green friendly and there will be no tram with new airport. Saving cost of maintance Ect. Old terminal was built for us air. As a hub and us air pulled out to go to Philly
Allegheny county boned US air they went to Charlotte They paid for part of the last renovation of the airport and did not get a tax credit so they left.
What is PIT doing for cell pick up? You really need a free parking lot a mile or 2 away from airport, so people can just come pick family members. And seriously reduce all parking fees. Daily Parking should be $8 period. Make longer walking escalators and ensure they are always working. Reduce food costs at airport. Add more great fast food restaurants like shake shack. Fast Wifi. Install a gas station before the airport. Walkway to car rental, or walks all the way to extended should be covered.
TSA is ridiculously undersized for the volume of flights PIT has. The airport was built before 9/11 when TSA security became a more involved process. If you kept up with news, you might have seen stories about the 3 hour lines for security in July. That was with full staffing. The new checkpoint will be able to accommodate more people at a time. There's also the cost savings. Eliminating the train saves about $1 million every year. Expanding the parking garage increases revenue. Combining the buildings and reducing the outrageous height of the ceiling will also save on utilities. The new facility will also allow for the re-introduction of automated baggage transfer, making it easier and quicker to pick up bags upon arrival. PIT as it currently is, wastes a lot of money and is horribly inefficient from an energy consumption and staffing perspective. Rebuilding it to waste less might cost more now, but will create savings in the immediate future. Also, NO taxpayer money went into this project. I don't see how anyone should be complaining about all these benefits.
$1 billion and and still doesn’t isnt a major airline hub there are no flights that leave the airport after 9 PM that is ridiculous. The amount of revenue the county is losing because of this is terrible.
Will be interesting what they do with the space at the landslide terminal . The region should have invested in getting a train out there
It’s slowly coming to life, our new terminal will be an exciting welcome to travelers!

Pittsburgh shrinking, airport must shrink, too.
Really????. Do you know near ion passengers fly out of PIT? More than since 2004. The best is yet to come.
Nearly 10 million passengers. More than since 2004!
What the hell is wrong w the old terminal? It's not like we're a major hub or anything. My opinion total waste of money.
