    1. Change 'am wishing' into 'wish' (a state verb of feeling).
    2. Replace 'hearing' with 'listening to'. She was involved in an action that prevented her from answering the phone.
    3. Change 'are not believing' into 'do not believe' (a state verb of mental processes).
    4. Change 'have been knowing' into 'have known'. It's just a state, not a physical action.
    5. It's a correct sentence. 'Having' here means expecting or making.
    Thanks a bunch 🌸❤

    - You are having your birthday party tomorrow

  • @lucasalmeida3875

    1 - I wish you a happy birthday; bc the act of wishing something to someone is not an action;
    2 - She didn't answer the phone because she was listening to music; bc to hear something is just a sense, to choose something/someone to listen to and pay attention to this person is an action;
    3 - They don't believe in magic; bc believe is not an action;
    4 - I have known Lucy for 5 years; bc to know something/someone is not an action, you just know it/him/her/them;
    5 - You are having your birthday party tomorrow; bc "have" in this case means "to host" a birthday party.
    I hope I've gotten these right, teacher! Thank you for this excellent lecture :)

    Your videos will help many learning English as well as native English speakers. Even native English speakers often do not receive a thorough grounding in English from their schools. Although my mother was an English teacher and I read voraciously from an early age it wasn't until I began studying Classical languages at University that I gained a thorough understanding of English grammatical rules and terms.

    Hi Emma, how are you today?
    Nice to see you again.
    You are amazing explaining English grammar.
    Stative verbs, that's exactly what I'm trying to figure out these days, and it seems like it's going to take me a bit of time to master them. So I am going to save your video and watch it more times.
    My answers:
    - I wish you a happy birthday.
    - She didn't answer the phone because she was listening to music.
    - They don't believe in magic.
    - I have known Lucy for 5 years.
    And finally the last one could be stative or action verb:
    - You wiil have your birthday party tomorrow.
    - you are having your birthday party tomorrow.
    Thank you very much Emma
    I really appreciate the time you're taking to review our answers.
