I watched this film on LOADS of strong painkillers because I had this really bad tooth. I had no clue what the movie was about going in... and it ended up being the best film experience I ever had. I was totally alone and it felt like I was there. I was just exhilarated and euphoric the entire time. I don't even know how to fully explain the experience. It was easily the most enjoyable film experience I've ever had. Nothing comes close except maybe this bar-theatre in PA where I saw *Hateful 8* with my childhood best friend. But that pales in comparison to this experience. If I could live my life on repeat, the moment I saw this film alone in my room with that bad-tooth would be something I'd play on a loop.
Responding to your question about parents kidnapping thier own kids. In the US, if there has not been a custody decision in court, either parent can take the child. I was in law enforcement for 12 years. Several times I had to explain this to the other parent. Often one parent will have had the child living with them for several years when the other parent shows up and takes the child. The first parent calls the cops. I explain to them that if a court has not ruled on it, then either parent can take the child with no repercussions.
The scene where they're talking about bringing in the people to be used as darts and thrown at the sticky board is improved between the cast almost entirely.
I remember seeing those commercials that Jordan did back in the 80's on late night TV. Jordan did an interview where he said that the office debauchery scenes in this film were pretty accurate - just not in the same room. There were two floors to the office. The second floor was all business... Then you go down to the first floor, stocked with drugs and hookers all day, get your "fix", then go back to work upstairs. The office I work in doesn't have that...
A totally different type of movie, but I really hope you'll watch the Big Short, it's about the housing market crash, it's a fantastic movie. One of my favourites.
Jodarn Belfort is still alive and doing public speaking events. He was available to Leo and Scorcese during the shoot for the sake of accuracy. He is really charismatic. Leo did a great job of playing him.
According to IMDB: "The scene where Brad punches Donnie is real, in fact Jon Bernthal hit Jonah Hill so hard that the prosthetic teeth he was wearing split and flew out of his mouth. Martin Scorsese then proceeded to film Hill's face swelling in real time."
I just wanted to say you guys are great at this. Arguably the best reaction channel. You both are very likeable and it's great to see you enjoying what you do. Keep up the good work! PS: would love to see The Aviator, my personal favorite Leo movie.

One wall street film that you _must_ see is the eponymous Wall Street (1987). Its antagonist, portrayed by Michael Douglas, is iconic -- and is still quoted today!
He is 1 of the last of the Hollywood greats harking back to an era of true iconic movie star status, of course he had perfect mentoring considering who his father was but he has made so many great movies but also I mean like if you were to put Wall Street together with Romancing the Stone, Basic Instinct, Falling Down - Fatal Attraction...how the heck could you choose a superior one from those alone, they are all classics!
1:38 The five most well-liked films directed by Scorsese have been Taxi Driver (1976), Raging Bull (1980), Goodfellas (1990), Casino (1995), and The Departed (2006). (The first four of the five all starred Robert De Niro.)
Scorsese also did "Silence" if you ever want to watch a religious movie, its pretty good but slow, like total opposite to the debauchery of Wolf. 33:55 Jean Dujardin - french Actror, is the satire version of James Bond in OSS 117
Regarding marrying cousins, look in to the statistics on first cousin marriage in Pakistan and Great Britain, it is very, very illuminating. I have an uncle, a well respected and thoroughly well published researcher in population health, who told me years ago that inter-cousin marriage is ok and generally does not produce monsters as long as it is not done too many generations in a row . . .
I had a sociology and anthropology professor who told us much the same, and that the taboo is so universal, even amongst tribes who know nothing about genetics, not because of potential birth defects but because it is so damaging to family roles (or something like that). You can't treat your sister as your wife at the same time, it just messes everyone up too much.
lmao - Simone talking about Margot Robbie's character 'we didn't really see a whole lot of her' ahem, correction, I think you saw just about every square inch of her, especially when she walked back through those sliding doors...
It is widely believed that Jonah's character Donny is the one who gave the yellow note to the FBI but who knows. There are other signs like when Jordan changed his mind about leaving Stratton Oakmont and Donny yells out of anger. Or Donny deleting his files as he is the only one that knew the FBI were coming to take everyone down.
33:50 Oh, that guy is Jean Dujardin, a great actor and he stars in the awesome OSS 117 spy-spoof trilogy!! I absolutely love those movies: OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies; OSS 117: Lost in Rio, and OSS 117: From Africa With Love.
I'm glad George, like myself, didn't see Niomi as a victim. She knew everything and only left him after he was indited. I think the only truly innocent people were the cops just doing their jobs. Even Jordan's first wife knew he was ripping people off people and was the one that told him to steal from the rich. She was even the one that told him to be a stockbroker when he was settling for being a stockboy. Though I will say I'm only talking about the movie, in real life, we have no idea how much of Jordan's book was true besides the court documents.
Fun fact, Jordan shared time in prison with Tommy Chong. Tommy encouraged him to share his story. So Jordan lived a crazy life, then Scorsese, and Leo brought his story to the big screen.
I’m such a huge Leo fan, and he’s the reason I saw this movie when it came out. He’s so electric in this role, I was not disappointed. That being said, I still can’t believe how much I love Jonah Hill in this movie. He’s perfect
George worrying about all the things they're going to have to edit out to make the RUclips cut, all while his hair blocks out everything on his shirt besides "BiTCH", is reason #4,873 why I love this channel. 🥰
This is one of my top 10 movies and so glad you did it. Like you both say, Leo is SO good you can't help but like his character, not matter what a scumbag he is.
Martin Scorsese is definitely in my top directors ever. If I had to pick my top favorite movies, there is always at least 2 or 3 Martin Scorsese movies at the top of the list. My personal favorites are "Goodfellas", The Departed", "Taxi Driver" "The Wolf of Wall Street" and "Casino" and "Raging Bull" as an honorable mention.
The swiss banker is played by Jean Dujardin. One of the best french actors out there. Too bad most of his best stuff isn't translated so you probably can't react (unless you do speak french, you are canadians after all). However, he has a silent movie (yes, silent) called The Artist. It won the oscars for best picture and best actor (for Jean Dujardin) in 2012. If you want to see a french movie of his, I highy recommend any movie from the OSS 117 franchise (It's a James Bond parody).
I just commented on Nikki and Steven React for their Shutter Island video about checking out other Leo/Martin collaborations. Now you two put this out today? Awesome.
A small correction George, Leo is not a method actor, although he does get close to it. Method actors tend to stay in character during filming and at times outside of it while filming a movie. Leo doesn't do this, on the other hand he takes weeks or even months of research and preparation for a role and gets professionals (who sometimes accompany him throughout the filming) and is super professional in always getting into the character's mind, which which doesn't make him as disruptive as method actors who can be incredibly over the top in their dedication to not getting out of character
Also, Scorsese got drug experts for all the debauchery scenes , and by that I mean ex-addicts who have experienced all the drugs seen in the movie. That's why believe it or not, the whole scene of the "lemons" is super realistic. according to Leo, the expert told him: "Imagine that your body was a doll controlled by a small version of yourself from inside your body"
For anyone watching this that can relate. The realest quote in this movie.... "hows being sober.... it fucking sucks" god bless us all... like george said... some kid selling weed got 36 years..... ugh. Nuff said :/
They also made the movie "Boiler Room" with Ben Affleck, Vin Diesel, and Giovanni Ribisi based off the same Stock Broker Firm [Excellent movie as well] and was something that occurred late 90's in NY. Had a few people I knew that were bottom of barrel brokers at the firm, that after it went down were blacklisted from brokering ever again even the ones that hadn't been involved in the illegal activities.
Read "The Lords of Creation" by Frederick Lewis Allen and you will see they have been doing this before 1900. It's exactly this type of behavior that led to the many crashes in Wall Street along the way to the crash and depression in 1929.
As George asked, it is possible to have a parent be arrested for kidnapping their own kid. The problem is that a lot of times in the US police don't care enough and will give the parent the benefit of the doubt, even when the parent isn't good for the kid. Especially if the parent is the father and the mother makes the call. Town of Castle Rock v. Gonzales is a landmark supreme court case that is based on police not searching for a father who kidnapped two of his kids from their mother, who had a restraining order on him. The police did nothing.
Cool Hand Luke (1967)- Paul Newman 😎 Papillon (1973)- Steve McQueen / Dustin Hoffman🦋 Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969)- Paul Newman / Robert Redford🤠
FUN FACT 2: The reason Matthew McConaughey is so super thin in this movie is he was right in the middle of filming DALLAS BUYERS CLUB where he was portraying real life guy who had contracted AIDS in the 80s and found a cocktail cure on his own outside the US. It's also the Role he won the Oscar.

Editing this movie for RUclips is a Miracle
The scene where they're talking about bringing in the people to be used as darts and thrown at the sticky board is improved between the cast almost entirely.
I remember seeing those commercials that Jordan did back in the 80's on late night TV. Jordan did an interview where he said that the office debauchery scenes in this film were pretty accurate - just not in the same room. There were two floors to the office. The second floor was all business... Then you go down to the first floor, stocked with drugs and hookers all day, get your "fix", then go back to work upstairs. The office I work in doesn't have that...
I honestly thought Leo deserved the oscar for this rather than the revenant but it all worked out in the end I guess
😮
The Swiss-French banker is Oscar winner Jean Dujardin. Such a funny guy.
Jordan's a notorious liar and con man. Get real.
He's also still scamming people.
@@clarkeysamdo u have any proof of that?
@@Okok-bj8xh yes. Just look at what he's doing.
@@clarkeysam source?
According to IMDB: "The scene where Brad punches Donnie is real, in fact Jon Bernthal hit Jonah Hill so hard that the prosthetic teeth he was wearing split and flew out of his mouth. Martin Scorsese then proceeded to film Hill's face swelling in real time."
fun fact: the guy in the end that introduces Jordan on the stage is the real life Jordan Belfort
the person that introduced leo at the end of the movie @ 48:50 is the actual jordan belfort
I just wanted to say you guys are great at this. Arguably the best reaction channel. You both are very likeable and it's great to see you enjoying what you do. Keep up the good work!
PS: would love to see The Aviator, my personal favorite Leo movie.
Seconding The Aviator. Please guys. You owe it to yourselves!
And Shutter Island, another excellent Scorsese movie that Leo starred in.
Yep, The Aviator is absolutely brilliant. Love to see them react to "Catch me if you can" also.
The Departed
The way of the future.... The way of the future...
Tommy Chong was in prison, (for selling bongs, lol) at the same time as Jordan Belfort was and was the one who told him to write the book.
The swiss guy saying that swiss custom requires 10min of chit chat is just a joke he's just ribbing belfort for being so quick to get down to business while the banker is in an amicable mood
Y’all have to watch “The Big Short“ next, it’s a perfect continuation.
One wall street film that you _must_ see is the eponymous Wall Street (1987). Its antagonist, portrayed by Michael Douglas, is iconic -- and is still quoted today!
The only great thing about that movie. Michael Douglas carried them
He is 1 of the last of the Hollywood greats harking back to an era of true iconic movie star status, of course he had perfect mentoring considering who his father was but he has made so many great movies but also I mean like if you were to put Wall Street together with Romancing the Stone, Basic Instinct, Falling Down - Fatal Attraction...how the heck could you choose a superior one from those alone, they are all classics!
1:38 The five most well-liked films directed by Scorsese have been Taxi Driver (1976), Raging Bull (1980), Goodfellas (1990), Casino (1995), and The Departed (2006). (The first four of the five all starred Robert De Niro.)
And, as I understand it, he referred to his movie ‘The Age of Innocence’ as his most violent film.
Matt's chest bump was adlibbed. It was making leo laugh & they kept it in.
“Everyone looks up to him” a great sales person? Yes a lot of people looking to be in sales would. Especially back then when his name is all around
That car scene where Leo has to climb backup the stairs alone should have won Leo an award
The guy who introduced Jordan Belfort at the end of the movie is the real Jordan Belfort
the whole look on her face when the have the meeting about throwing the midgets 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Scorsese also did "Silence" if you ever want to watch a religious movie, its pretty good but slow, like total opposite to the debauchery of Wolf.
33:55 Jean Dujardin - french Actror, is the satire version of James Bond in OSS 117
The OSS 117 movies are great spy spoofs, funny and highly overlooked.
@@jculver1674 greatest possible gateway to french humour
Scorsese would tell you that this IS a religious movie. It just depends on your perspective.
The scene where theyre about to die in the storm and he still wants to do pills 😂😂😂 gets me every time 😂
Regarding marrying cousins, look in to the statistics on first cousin marriage in Pakistan and Great Britain, it is very, very illuminating.
One of the best movies of this century. Leo was incredible playing Jordan Belfort and Scorsese still being the best Hollywood director.
lmao - Simone talking about Margot Robbie's character 'we didn't really see a whole lot of her' ahem, correction, I think you saw just about every square inch of her, especially when she walked back through those sliding doors...
The sleazy Swiss banker is played by Jean Dujardin, Oscar winner from The Artist!
Jordan Belfort made a cameo as the MC who introduces Leonardo de Caprio’s ‘Jordan Belfort’ in the final scene.
In the very last scene the guy who introduced him at the seminar was the actual Jordan Belfort.
Fun fact, the guy who introduced Leo at the talk near the end was a cameo by Leo's character.
Henry Zebrowski plays Alden and he's the creator of "Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell" & the phenomenal podcast "Last Podcast On The left"
So Jordan lived a crazy life, then Scorsese, and Leo brought his story to the big screen.
it’s so crazy thinking about how the events of this movie basically took place 20 minutes from where I live and grew up
I’m such a huge Leo fan, and he’s the reason I saw this movie when it came out. He’s so electric in this role, I was not disappointed. That being said, I still can’t believe how much I love Jonah Hill in this movie. He’s perfect
In an interview with Jon Bernthal. He said Jonah Hill actually took that full punch like a champ.
George worrying about all the things they're going to have to edit out to make the RUclips cut, all while his hair blocks out everything on his shirt besides "BiTCH", is reason #4,873 why I love this channel. 🥰
Fun Fact: That guy who introduced Leo Dio at the end of the movie at that seminar was the real Jordan Belfort…. 😅
This is one of my top 10 movies and so glad you did it. Like you both say, Leo is SO good you can't help but like his character, not matter what a scumbag he is.
Scorsese must have love Michael Douglas's character so much he copied them from 2 movies - Wall Street and Basic Instinct.
@@terrylandess6072 "copied", are you forgetting Jordan Belfort is a real human being?
OSS 117 !!!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
That 45 seconds she was cooking the lobster you know she was thinking "How can I jump out this window and get outta here?"
33:50 the actor is Jean Dujardin, really popular actor here in France, won the best actor Oscar thanks to the movie The Artist
I just commented on Nikki and Steven React for their Shutter Island video about checking out other Leo/Martin collaborations. Now you two put this out today? Awesome.
‘You know who Rudy is’ is one of my favorite comedic lines
"I discovered a whole new phase, the cerebral palsy phase" always kills me. When Jordan went to prison, his cell mate was none other than Tommy Chong
That's why believe it or not, the whole scene of the "lemons" is super realistic. according to Leo, the expert told him: "Imagine that your body was a doll controlled by a small version of yourself from inside your body"
this guy always throws out so much random things like they are facts ive noticed..
DiCaprio definitely doesn't need 'drug experts'. He's got enough experience himself.
Leo didn't speak to Jamie Foxx on the set of Django.
Remember when the Internet and RUclips was a safe haven for uploading content that isn't heavily censored for adult babies? Those were nice times...
The chest beating is a real thing Matthew McConaughey does to deepen his voice before shooting his scenes.
1:40
1) Goodfellas
2) Casino
3) The Wolf of Wall Street
4) The Irishman
5) Taxi Driver
6) Shutter Island
7) Raging Bull
8) Mean Streets
14:00 the guy that Leo was talking to on the phone was Elon Musk
at 48:50 the REAL Jordan Belfort introduces the character. Love a good cameo.
In the vein of Wall Street fucking people over, I **HIGHLY** recommend The Big Short. Stellar cast that tells the story of the 08 crash
Read "The Lords of Creation" by Frederick Lewis Allen and you will see they have been doing this before 1900. It's exactly this type of behavior that led to the many crashes in Wall Street along the way to the crash and depression in 1929.
The Departed maybe? Great film and one of his more recent ones. There's also The Irishman which was decent but nothing special imo (don't hate me)
If you liked this, check out The Big Short (2015), it is pretty good too.
the swiss banker is literally one of the most famous French actor rn
Noël Flantier !
Cool Hand Luke (1967)- Paul Newman 😎
Papillon (1973)- Steve McQueen / Dustin Hoffman🦋
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969)- Paul Newman / Robert Redford🤠
The "Our Policy" censor screen is my favorite on one RUclips...which is a weird thing to have a favorite for, I'll acknowledge that.
