For humans it is better to eat plants than meat because it develops compassion for other creatures. If there are no plants then we may eat lower animals whose consciousness is less developed, so they feel less pain when killed. It is a great mistake that humans must eat all kinds of creatures. If most humans have compassion not to eat their own species, or their own babies, or cats or dogs, then it is in their nature not to eat any kind of creatures, not even plants. But, since our bodies require some food to survive, and this involves killing, then better to kill plants, then cats or dogs, or birds, or dears, or cows, because their killing causes great suffering for them and their children (mostly cows). So, we should not kill unnecessarily, and we should think more on others than our own tongues or bellies. Humans are meant to develop higher consciousness, and one of them is compassion for other living beings. And if we are aware that all living creatures, including ourselves, are simply struggling for existence to survive, that means we are all put into condition which is not favorable for anyone. This place is highly miserable, like some kind of prison house. We should try to get out of here, and find some better place to live, where we do not have to kill in order to survive. This feeling can only arise in those persons who are compassionate towards themselves and others. Pamela Anderson in on the good path. She is gradually developing detachment from her bodily demands, and coming to the level of compassion toward other living beings. She knows more than all philosophers combined together. She must be a goddess, and if there is a heaven she must have come from that place to teach all of us little about compassion for our younger brothers and sisters. This is good start. The Vedic civilization teaches that humans are meant for searching their real nature, so any movement or any commissions which do not further that end commit violence on humans and other living beings.
I am vegetarian since 48 years ... It's just normal ... However , humans ( and especially children ) need proper dairy products ( which only the Hindus know how to make right ) on the long run , because we're not rabbits ... Obviously , factory farming sucks beyond belief , so we need to get back to small family farming , keeping cows in a very nice ( civilized ) manner , never send them , along with bulls , calves and other animals to hellish slaughterhouses , and treat them with respect and affection ...
