Palworld doing what Nintendon't
This comment needs far more likes and attention.
Nintendo aren’t developers behind Pokémon it’s gamefreak
I've been saying this a lot with all the fan made Nintendo clones coming out recently: The fans do what Ninten-don't.
They don't want to make a new F-Zero? The fans are making Aero GPX and XF Extreme Formula. They didn't want to give us more Metroid? The fans made AM2R, and we would have had Prime 2D as well. They don't want to make another Star Fox? The fans made Ex-Zodiac and Whisker Squadron.
And they have never released a single Pokemon game on PC, so the fans made their own. Games like Monster Sanctuary, Temtem, Coromon, and, of course Palworld.
Yeah, when's Papa Nintendo gonna step up their game and put guns, slave labour and slaughter in Pokemon already?
@@ElFreakinCid Or just out actual effort into one of their games for once.
I remember playing pokemon red when I first got it for my birthday. Couldn't put it down, took the batteries out of everything, and it was almost all I could talk about. Palworld finally made me feel like that again. I love pokemon, but they desperately needed something to force them to step it up... Their game came out looking like an early access title the devs forgot about, and now a small team of dedicated devs have overtaken the biggest IP in the world. Even if for just a second, pokemon has to be wondering how they fell this far. And it's about damn time.
Well said!!! Totally agree. I was 7 when Red/Blue came out, and my poor-ass lucked out with finding a copy of Blue Version in a gutter, and still somehow worked 😮 Before Palworld, I was already outies from Gen 11 unless Nintendo/Gamefreak made some drastic changes. Releasing Scarlet/Violet in such a horrendous state and STILL have the world super laggy, plus the painfully childish dialogue writing is unacceptable.
Nintendo already tried suing Palworld devs and failed. They made this stanky bed and now they have to sleep in it. I'm so happy. The rage the high-end exec is going to feel when they have to approve a higher budget for the next games in Pokemon makes my soul bright. lol.
Choose your fighter: Palworld or Legends Arceus
I know the game is not Pokemon, but he just compared them and I wanna hear him lie again because I know a liar when I read one. That was crafted as all hell. Get better, fren.
Anyone who responds to me. Read what he typed first.
Yeah, they're definitely wondering that, as the literal biggest multimedia franchise ever created, whose most recent and jankiest major entry still became one of the best-selling Switch titles ever within less than a year.
Your precious ripoff game ain't putting Pokemon in the danger you all think it is.
@ElFreakinCid To be fair, their jankiest was probably Shining Diamond and whatever Pearl. The frame rate and memory leak for Scarlet is annoying, but the game itself (Mechanics, Story, etc.) is probably their best. Damn shame they screwed up the programming so bad.
Palworld is a wake-up call to gamers and developers alike. The Pokémon company needed their tree shaken, and Palworld is doing just that, and I'm here for it!

I find it sickening that a company's first course of action is to sue rather than compete to make a better game.
Nintendo released a statement basically saying they've been aware of Palworld and that the modder that made the Pokemon mod was given no authority to do so. We can only assume they did this to get all those people to stop contacting them.
This. Especially the last part of Game Freak’s statement where they claimed they will always love and nurture each and every Pokémon as well as the world they inhabit. Like, what?

"Outdo", you say, meanwhile Nintendo isn't even scared and the shittiest mainline Pokemon game is still outselling this.
@@ElFreakinCidit does outdo in performance and graphics, and it's the most played game on steam. I'm a Pokémon fan, but I cannot ignore reality, especially when the game in question doesn't have an endorsement of Nintendo, nor have more than 20 years in the market with their IP.
@user-df8hl4zx2l I think the comparison is stupid. Other than aesthetics, what exactly makes this a Pokemon rival? It has completely different game mechanics.
@@midnari this is exactly what I have been saying since PalWorld came out. The two games aren't even in the same genre to begin with. But when people talk about it surpassing Pokémon, it's in regards to performance and graphics. It's not about it surpassing it in the Pokémon formula itself, since it would necessitate turn based combat with the Pals on the very least. PalWorld does plan to release a Pal Arena, but we know nothing about it, and even if it have a PVP turn based combat, it wouldn't be enough to consider it a rival to Pokémon. I even doubt that Pokémon may change on the next installments due to PalWorld, but now that we know that an indie company is able surpass GameFreak greatly, even though they have a smaller budget for the whole project, it's possible that more clients from the Pokémon franchise may become a little more exigent, and this may, one time or another, end up forcing GFs hand in someway. By the way, I'm a Pokémon fan, and even used to play it competitively.
@@ElFreakinCid Says a Nintendo /Game Freak fanboy. Selling over 5 million and rising in a week is not bad for a broke indie developer with no marketing campaign. It's selling because it's fun, and has features players want in a monster collecting type of game. Pokémon is cool but the games don't do it for me like Palworld does.
Recent Pokemon games look like Dogpoo next to PalWorld, even Arceus, and Time has nothing to do with it, Time can't help those that don't have the passion and heart to do better the first time.
Time can't help those who lack passion, but a lack of time can absolutely stop those WITH passion from being able to bring their passion to it's full potential. Personally, I think the primary issue with the recent pokemon games is that the people in charge are too conservative with their creative direction, they are afraid to innovate because they think innovation means deviating from the formula that's worked out so well for them in the past, so any advancement forward is so minimal it can barely be considered baby steps. I genuinely believe the people working on the games are passionate about what they do, but they are hampered by fearful executives and an unforgiving time crunch. If they had more time there would absolutely be a higher quality product that would be leaps and bounds better than what we're getting, but it still wouldn't be innovative.
@jacobbissey9311 kaa, cue the tragic sales of Generation 5. That was the pivotal point for the franchise.
Because black and white was teh very first game where you cannot catch Pikachu at all in the main Story.
That part of teh community backlash is teh most painful and dark lesson Gamefreak and TPC Japan learned the hard way.
@@jacobbissey9311 I'm not saying time wouldn't help, but you can't help people by giving them more time if they aren't good at using the time they have. I'm not convinced more time would change a dam thing because even if it's their afraid to do better out of lack of time, fact remains they can do better. I've seen what passionate people can do in a week which produced better results than a team of 100+ experienced devs did in 3 years. You can just tell by looking at their work there is no passion in what they do, because a person with passion would agonize over making it look as good as they can make it within the time period they have before handing it off tot he next person, I don't feel that at all anywhere even in Arceus let alone Scarlet or Violet. You need to have Passionate Motivated Devs before you give them more time or they're just gonna do more of the same shit. I'm speaking through experience with people in my own work place, it's how people are, they either give a shit or they don't, people who give a shit will put 200+ into their work, those that don't do the bare minimum or less what ever they can get away with, more time wouldn't change the attitude they have.
You realize one is only on Nintendo switch and the other is on pc right? 😂
It's like comparing a mobile game to a console game.
@@fernoramos94 Yeah and I own both a PC and A Switch, I've seen plenty of good games that look better than Pokemon run fine on it, I hate how people just immediately think the Switch is not capable of handling a game with a bit more love and care put into it. Digimon Cybersleuth and Hackers Memory, Digimon Survive, Monster Hunter Stories 2, Xenoblade chronicles 2, Shin Megumi Tensei 5, Person Titles. All of these are games similar to pokemon that run perfectly fine on the Switch and Look leagues better than it.
It's not outrageous to call Pokemon Dog poo next to another game cause most games do look better than it. Gamefreak just does the bare minimum and people eat it up just cause it's Pokemon, they don't even try, I'm not convinved that they even know what they're doing anymore when it comes to game design cause you can't be a good developer and mess up this bad every time on purpose.
Kinda surprised that there's this much controversy and all about Palworld and how it's supposedly "ripped off Pokemon" and yet I don't recall much of that going around when a similar monster catcher game came out a few years ago, Temtem. It's also way better than the last couple of Pokemon games as well. It's just not "Pokemon With Guns"
It's much closer to 'Ark with Pokémon', if you ask me. Game's far more focused on crafting/survival/adventure/exploration than it is actually on the Pals themselves, they just fit neatly among all of these.

This implies there will be higher quality versions in the future, that humanity was finally able to take a solid step in the right direction in the category with a smaller budget showing the world & leading industry its possible, setting a new standard alongside its release price of 20-30$.
Aswell as beginning of AI generated landscapes/designs that will become a common practice for future development. While leaving the space for handcrafted designs room to improve & be praised for its quality. Especially for full dive endevors
20-30$ x 3 million is still nothing to brush off if that cant pay for the teams well being its safe to say our societies value on money has decreased way to low in opposite directions, resource allocation issues aside, great changes ahead of us
I don't know if you can consider the $30 price point an industry standard when it's an early access title and they're probably going to charge full price when the game is actually finished

Still at the 30$ mark to hit 3 million players is quite substantial
Assuming palworlds review wouldn't of changed too much even at normal pricing aside from availability. Back when I first started, Photoshop haters had the exact same arguments then as people against generative programs (AI art) have today. For one, its not AI, thats a very poor name for what it is and how it works. And its just another tool in ones toolbox. It wont take anyones job unless they refuse to adapt to the times and use the new development processes that everyone else is using.
If anything, it will create more jobs because more people will have better tools that make their part of the job more enjoyable.
As for the "stolen designs", that clip you showed of the wireframe meshes; the person who made that video admitted that they skewed the models to make them match better, so even though they might appear to be close, they are only close because they were deceptively edited to appear close. I think the reason they haven't done this yet, outside of abject avarice, is the Smash Ultimate dilemma. For instance, where does Smash go after Ultimate? They stopped with the DLC, made all the characters and then some. The series is essentially going to require a complete reboot after this.
If Pokemon released an awesome open world Pokemon game with a leveling system to accommodate the nearly One-Hundred gyms they would add with all regions to not have it just be lv 100s fighting by the end of it for everything, something like Skyrim where aspects of what you do get raised, and you have skill points to unlock features and moves for the Pokemon, they would not be able to make another regular game again like Scarlet/Violet, as everyone would be into the Ultimate game.
@@BigCowProductions they could easily figure it out, and im just saying what my dream game would be. And if they change enough, such as the battle system, it wont directly compete with mainline games. And it doesnt have to be every region ever, they could do say two regions at a time and theyll have plenty of sequel opportunities and i think the world would still be quite big enough
there are simple solutions to this if it uses a pokken-esque system combined with standard levelling and a large move pool will create a more skilled based game and even with a maxed out team you are not guaranteed victory in the later stages of the game unless you are exceptionally good at the system. and if they use the classic system then there is one great fix being region locking pokemon until you beat the champion of the region, so you cannot bring pokemon from one region into another unless you have beaten the champion of both which would simulate Ash's journey somewhat over the course of the series with there being a soft reset every time you go somewhere new.
The devs of this game truly deserve their success. Big ups
Pokemon and Nintendo should have to worry about Palworld at all haha. Yes, Palword is fun, but it is NO WHERE near the size of Pokemon nor do I think it will grow as large for anyone to worry. Palworld may end up like PUBG. Blow up extremely quick, get a few good updates out, and then die off. There are a TON of bugs in this game and the biggest bug that irritates me is that key board and mouse in fact works on Xbox, but when in the menu the cursor to the mouse doesn’t show at all. So even though it’s functional a controller is still used to navigate the menus. Also, to me at least, the “ Pals “ art work are very cheesy or corny. Zero thought went into character development. That’s something Pokemon doesn’t lack! Shit there’s a few Pokemon trading cards worth 1,000s because of the art work alone.
Palworld is fun and I am going to play it no doubt, but this game isn’t going to last forever. I’d give it a good year or two and let it play out. To much over thinking from everyone.
Another reason I can’t see anything come of this is that Xbox has this game on gamepass. Meaning Xbox has already invested into it and I am sure they dotted all their I’s and crossed all their T’s before investing. If it was a game they seems would cause any legal clash it would not be one gamepass.
it will get to the size of pokemon wether u like it or not, pokemon may have a globally recognized market but that doesn't really mean anything, the new pokemon games will be forgotten
Nintendo and Gamefreak should be ashamed of the shit they churned out just to milk the cashcow that is Pokemon
I don't see why artists or any creative cant just see AI as a tool for them to further serve their creativity by either pulling ideas from it or enhancing their artistic skill circumventing certain basics or tedious work to have more time to work on the finer details.
This is exactly right
Like most people who are wary of AI... they're afraid that AI will get so good at it they won't be needed anymore.
Companies aren't even waiting for AI to get good enough to replace humans, theres already cases of writers being laid off by companies who replaced them with chatGPT
As an artist, I use AI to study and explore shading, design ideas, and color to improve my digital illustrations. However, I don't use AI mixing with my work directly because I want to improve my ability to create art that can be implemented to create 3D/2D characters, posters, comics, book covers, and animation.
@XieRH1988 That's true, but you still need an input for the AI to make said stories. The more info an AI has, the better the output it would have. Now, if we get a writer to write out an outline or short story for the AI to go off of, you could possibly see the potential from whatever the AI outputed from your input to extrapolate ideas you would have never thought of and incorporate it into your story.
This is the competition pokemon needs.
I hope this means other developers will release more monster catching stuff. I've been craving a new Monster Rancher forever.
I can't understand why anyone would be even remotely interested in a blatant rip off like pallworld. It really bewilders me.
People fear AI because they know that it would replace them. The only people who should worry about such things are those who don't create things for others but instead for themselves and their ideals. AI doesn't care for ideals. I have seen some interesting things from AI already. One being a chatbot made into a Vtuber. Strangely enough its pretty entertaining to watch and see how it responds to people and questions. Then theirs AI art which in my opinion is a bit lackluster compared to human drawn art. People say Palworld looks AI but I don't see it. Their are some pretty decent designs in this game.
This is such a stupidly philosophical argument with no meaning. Artists create shit for other people, they want to do that professionally. What the fuck do "ideals" have to do with anything? I'm not against Palworld if it doens't use AI, but yes, people DON'T want their art being saved without their permission and being trained into a Frankenstein robot, and whether that's because of some "ideal" or because they don't "care about other people" it doesn't really fcking matter, pardon my french, because it's their shit and you and I don't get to have an opinion on whether someone steal's someone else's shit. I don't get to have an opininion on whether someone gets to steal yours either. It doesn't matter what "ideal" you're against that for, or if you're being "selfish", yes people want to make money, even more than they need to survive. Jesus,
Honestly don’t see any other outcome than Nintendo shutting Palworld down, if you don’t see the AI generated design, you’re lying to yourself……
Been a die hard Pokémon fan for 25 years and I absolutely love this game
Palworld will never get anywhere near as big as Pokemon, unless they can somehow become a multi-billion dollar corporation in a few days. This is not going to compete or destroy pokemon in any possible way. Palworld will get huge, yes. It will amass a huge amount of money. They may get very lucky and make a billion. ....Then one of two things will happen:
(1): like all the "Pokemon killers" before it, people will realize just how generic the game is, appreciate the brief breath of fresh air that it was, then get bored and move on. they'll go back to waiting for their creature collector of choice to come out with something new.
(2): Just like ARK, the game will plateu into a not-quite-as-massive, but reasonably sized player base. There will be occasional surges in numbers as updates come out. The game will live out a comfortable life on the internet. Not dead, but not sprawling like WoW in its glory days. Thats literally the best this game could hope for, considering how it looks and plays...
Pokemon will probably make bank on their next game and a substantial amount of Palworld worshippers will absolutely line up, ready to get their hands on the next pokemon installment. because the hard truth is, Palworldians are most likely also pokemon fans....Pokemon is not panicking, nor are a vast, VAST majority of their fans. People are upset about a great deal of other things, yes. They are not at all shaking in their boots over the nonexistent possibility of a complete usurpation. Im even willing to bet a huge amount of money that pokemon is being pressured to respond when in reality, they'd be happy with it not being on their radar at all.
I am neither a fan of Palworld nor Pokemon for completely separate reasons. Pokemon has been stagnant for a long time...AT LEAST their last three games were absolute trash and thats putting it mildly... However, Palworld is also absolute trash in my eyes. Everything from the completely un-unique mons to the atrocious environment graphics and clunky mechanics...I played the game for several hours and cannot stand how it looks, feels, and plays. Its going in the bin along with all the pokemon games I regret wasting my time on. Maybe Ill give it one more chance when there have been some updates but I doubt it will look cohesive. The thing just lacks any sort of soul. The mons don't match the environment at all. Even the objects look like something from a completely different game altogether. The animations are great. The attacks are cool. The mons look like a parallel universe version of pokemon but could be cool with ALOT of fixing. Actually it suffers from the same graphical shittery as S&V.
I too am waiting for something decent to compete against pokemon. This aint it.
Have you not seen how many people have bought the game in just 4 days? lmao and you claim it will never get as big as pokemon and the game isn't even two weeks old and they are going to add trading, pvp, new islands and pals and more. And it's not like other games. Maybe if you played the game a bit yourself instead of coming up with assumptions you would see that. You know pokemon wasn't always such a big star, it started off like Palworld is rn
@@whitedragonzerureusu4480 typical fanboy response. If you read what I said, I mention quite clearly, that I've played the game. Several hours I won't get back, unfortunately. But I try to give every game a chance. I also mentioned I don't like Pokemon, either. Not the newer games, anyway.
Your generic "Its only been 4 days" argument is exactly what every Pokemon killer fanbase claims. Palworld has made a ton of money in a short period of time. It's impressive to be sure. It's not going to touch Pokemon. They'll be lucky to make a billion.
I invite you to come back here in a few months and correct me if Palworld somehow kills Pokemon.
This what I think and you say it all thank
Anyway where my half life 3-
keep on bootlicking pokemon, you will have to learn one day pokemon will cease to exist and something will overtake it@@awood8964
Nintendo could have made this game a decade ago. This is what we always wanted, it's like playing the Anime.
Not only the game like playing the anime, the dev's life story sounds like an interesting plot of anime too.
@@Saviliana yeahh the dev can surely be anime, that will be an epic anime.
Nintendo aren’t developers behind Pokémon it’s gamefreak
@@johnsmith-ut8dq You do know that gamefreak was owned by nintendo right?
@@Saviliana Game Freak is not owned by Nintendo. If they were, they wouldn't have gotten away with releasing Tembo the Badass Elephant on every system but Nintendo's.
When you make a game with just the concept of "make it FUN" It will always outsell a game with the concept of "make it look good"
Just cause it looks good doesn't mean it will play good
"Americans like to shoot things" and "Americans like to make ugly characters" got me 😂
Laughed out loud when I read it
Honestly could care less about either of those things ... But like it's good that it's an option lel
As a Pokemon fan, i think Palworld might be the Game the Pokemon-Community needed. Not because it´s "like Pokemon" and they don´t even have to play nor like it, but because hopefully after Palworlds success, the Pokemon Games will get better because now Gamefreak and Nintendo know they have to do something.
I personally compare the Pals to some Pokemon, but the way Palworld feels makes me think of Spectrobes. As a Monster Hunter player i like the Bossfights and collecting Materials by "hunting" the Pals. As a survival-player (and building-Game player) i like the basebuilding (minus the sometimes stupidly long time it takes to build some stuff). And as an RPG-player i like the exploring, the dungeons an just finding new things. And as a Pokemon-player i like the Pals, even though they look very similar to some Pokemon (Goodra/Lilligant- fusion or bipedal Houndoom).
Personal note: It´s weird that Digimon somehow seems to have found a niche where it is seemingly never copied by other monster-games. Well i guess Pals can have guns too? Maybe thats the Digimon aspect?
I’m a Pokemon fan but I might check out palworld
do it, promise you wont regret it bro🙏🏼🙏🏼
@@nicoopiee hopefully Pokemon will create a MMORPG game so we can explore the whole n all of the Pokemon open world n battle in arenas n have a character n explore the story n everything else along with battling players online n having a online gym where players can become gym masters on their servers n other players can battle them to take their spot n way more
Honestly the only thing keeping me from it is the fact that im very serious about not hurting animals with weapons even if its just a game. And yes im fully aware that Pokemon battles are kinda that but its different in the sense that their powers are used more in a sporty sense and passionate battles that dont lead to death. In Palworld you can just grab a stick and kill them and it doesnt feel right for me to do so. I dunno maybe im just a sensitive wimp, but I hope you enjoy it!
@@virtualcolt yikes dude pixels dont have feelings just have fun wtf
@@virtualcolt you are concerned for pixels? If you saw what i do in stellaris in a regular basis you would consider me a war criminal
I'm just hoping this game gives Pokemon the kick in the pants they need to get their crap together. I havn't played it yet, but just watching a few minutes of gameplay filled me with the same sense of wonder and excitement that pokemon used to give me. Like when Pokemon moved up to the GBA from the Gameboy Color and had massive upgrades on all fronts with Ruby/Sapphire/all of Gen 3. If Pokemon refuses to learn from this and don't do their utmost to fix their issues, then I may no longer consider myself a pokemon fan at all.
If using AI can make a game 10x better, I think that's a good thing.
I like how you mentioned the ai needs perfected so it doesn’t steal art but right there is where we can change the idea have artist work with the ai so it doesn’t steal and can compliment their art. Look for the gaps in the job market and fill them in too.
Yep exactly
Pal world is a the Pokémon game for all of the adults that grew up loving Pokémon. Palworld is a much needed step in the right direction.
!!!!! "We are used to our holes being filled by big businesses..." -- Dantics !!!! hold up! (surprised Pikachu face) 8:04
If AI can make a game this entertaining then I say bring on the AI game devs.
I say the same thing for Hollywood writers that have been crap at their job for two decades, if AI can write better than they can, then they need to learn to write better.
I can't play Pokemon on PC natively and refuse to subscribe to Nintendo's underpowered and closed ecosystem.
Nintendo had decades to make a good pokemon game but they failed.
Nintendo aren’t developers behind Pokémon it’s gamefreak
The problem with small and big companies is heart. Big companies heart is in the money. While small companies heart is in the game.
AI can’t create without being taught by feeding it an artist’s work.
Cool story, too bad Palworld didn't use AI
Same thing applies to human artists. You learn what you see. You study art to learn art. That's how it works. Everything in your brain is derivative and directly influenced by what you've personally experienced.
We are dramatically more complex than ai, but the concept is the same.
@@knifemindthere's a big difference between studying and making a mishmash of pre existing art. Not to mention, AI image generation doesn't function without image input, And the vast majority of the input is without consent of the artists. Unless companies make their own programs that is made with only their own artwork made by artists that they hire, AI image generation is just not going to be fair to use.
I'll add that honestly I don't see why people are trying to push AI to take over creative jobs, since you need a combination of brain and passion to have creativity which is why AI generated images will tend to have a very generic, and bland feel to them like they lack any intent, in my honest opinion.
Hopefully it gives gamefreak and Nintendo the wake up slap they need.
This is my favourite video youve made in a while, mate. Your quality is always top tier but this was so well spoken and formulated. Would love to hear more of your thoughts in this kinda format
Palworld won't kill Pokemon. If anything Palworld is more of a threat to the Ark games.
Thank you Dantics
I was holding a very hard stance against AI but you're right change is coming so I either embrace it or get left behind. Thank you for that point of view
Palworld isn't a Pokemon game, the only thing they have in common is character design, it's really more of a weird mix of Fornite, ARK, BOTW, and yes.. a little bit of Pokemon
But people keep acting like it's straight up "Pokemon, but darker!", and I'm like "No, if you want that play Casette Beasts, you go into Palworld looking for that and you're having a bad time."
Been playing Palworld since release. I'm not a pokemon fan, just never got into it, but many love them and that's fine. What I found is that Palworld is a game I find a fun mashup of game types that just plays fun. I'm not into the hunt all over huge maps games, but here I'm enjoying it. I like building and there is enough here to make me happy. There is a grind, but it's not like a single process grind. There is so much to do and try. This game you won't be done in 20, 40 ... hours of play. That is value. King of it all, NO MICRO TRANSACTIONS.
Was really sceptical starting the game but holy it had me hooked
From a non-Pokemon playing person: This game is a lot more fun than it should be as it brings nothing new to the table BUT, combines so many elements in a solid manner that it is just a lot of fun to play (either solo or with friends). Was with you untill the "holes being filled" comment... then all I could hear was Archer saying "Phrasing!".
Palworld made me feel like the first time I turned on Pokemon Red and Blue. My God. I'm not that kid anymore but FINALLY there is a game that makes me feel like that kid just one last time.
My first pal was a Daydream. I saw it at night, glowing in the dark. I didn't know what that purple glow was. It was all alone when I found it. It was tough because I was so weak. I caught it and it still follows me now.
I remember when my charmander evolved in Mt. Moon. Lost in an endless maze. And here I am. 25 years later. The forest I found that Daydream was Mt. Moon once again. Except this time the game matured with me. I left Pokemon a long long time ago because I simply out grew it. It left me. But palworld with its incredible sense of adventure, modern mechanics and mature humour. I feel a link to that kid who was so lost in a whole new world, 25 years ago.
Bravo Pal World. Bravo. It's about damn time.
So, this shows that you don’t need millions of dollars to make a great selling game!
Sounds like the great old days of gaming!
Coming from a man that was gifted a Nintendo when he was a 5 year old and owned every console since that point . It’s effin time to get on PALWORLD
Good points and very well made video! Audio wise try to cut down your rooms reverb, i can hear your voice bounce of the walls. Your video and editing are great, match that with better audio🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for the tips and for watching! Sadly I was not home so didn't have a good sound environment :)
Palworld is not even close to Pokémon. Has no evolutions and Pokémon has no hunger and stamina meter, at all. Game is like Ark, you tame and use them at your disposal for survival. Craft saddles and ride them, just like Ark, but leveling and unlocking
Yeah this kind of shit - from Baldur's Gate III to Palworld is a show to how independent companies are finally genuinely competing with well-established corpos, and that's throwing a big wrench in the industry that I'm LOVING! COMPETITION SPAWNS GREATNESS!
I love this game. And it makes me smile that the Pokemon company is trying to down play like this isn't a big deal. When the full version is out and big console companies try to get it, they will be in for a surprise.
Big Pokemon fan but Palworld has a lot going for it that is completely different than a Pokemon game
Dude your videos of Palworld just make me want to play it more. There's so many weird creatures I want get to see and find!
I was surprised to discover the game was so cheap.
I did play a bit multiplayer and super enjoyed fighting a high level Pal with 2 friends in order to capture it.
Honestly, this is what Pokemon Scarlet/Violet should have been like when it came out but like you mentioned they believe Pokemon is untouchable
turns out that's not the case! I like the game and can't wait to see were it goes next.
Haven't played palworld yet and massive pokemon fan since childhood. Palworld seems like a pokefan's dream come true, I am so glad to see a game like this. Props to the developpers, I hope nintendo and gamefreaks actually learns from it.
Palworld looks cool and fun, I'll probably try it at some point. The hatred for the game seems completely unhinged. I'm far from familiar with every Pal, and my familiarity with many Pokemon is cursory at best - there are plenty of games I played through once and put away. But from what I've seen, there are not that many Pals who seriously remind me of Pokemon, like that Flutter Mane/Misdreavous thing you see floating around, or the one that looks like Lucario because Lucario looks like Anubis and it looks like Anubis too. Most of the Pals look like they *COULD* be Pokemon, but that's very different from them being actually copied from Pokemon. You can't copyright design principles.
In Palworld that one is actually just called Anubis haha
I agree. Pokémon needs a competitor. A good kick in the no no spot. There game is getting stale and boring. Palworld is a great breath of fresh air and fun as heck. My son and I have had hours of play time that I can do with him in other games.
Not played palworld, watched many gameplays to understand the fusion concept.
In my opinion this game is actually what the problem need a solution to be fully immersive yet the idea of feeding , having health care system , bath springs , roaming and many other chores with your pals is as being in a windy field a breathe of fresh air.
You my friend have a new subscriber. I love your optimistic and reasoned outlook on this situation.
It's like Baulders Gate III increased all our expectations for games being good that when shit like Palworld happens we realise we no longer need to take it from big corporations anymore!
Back when Final Fantasy was the top JRPG in the West and a respectable competitor to Dragon Quest in Japan, the two had a fun back and forth of one-upping each other. Dragon Quest 2 gave you a party, Final Fantasy 1 let you build a four man team out of a pool of six hero types, Dragon Quest 3 let you change a character's class and retain his learned spells and half his stats but reset his level, Final Fantasy 3 let you change a character's class at any point between fights, Dragon Quest 4 gave you a solid adventure narrative, Final Fantasy 4 gave you a story with a character driven narrative and a meaningful arc for the main character, Dragon Quest 5 gave you a multi-generational story about sons passing down inheritance to their sons.
Pokemon's _anime_ had that in waves of competition with the Digimon anime, but Digimon games could never come close to Pokemon.
Pokemon as a game didn't get a competitor to shake it up until Yo-Kai Watch, and that was a brief flash in the pan success only in the Asian market around gens 6-7, which did prompt Pokemon to change a little but not a lot, and most things it did change at the time were not changes for the better.
I fear if Pokemon does try to imitate anything from Palworld, it's going to be the wrong elements. They'll completely miss what voids it's filling, just like they missed the point of peoples' complaints about the old HM system and took away the only point of non-combat interaction you had with your own creatures instead of improving on it.
This is a Cinderella story for devs if I ever heard one.
And knowing to have borrowed money from THE Yakuza, I'm highly sure they will will to 'help' them as long the They get 5% of the profit.
Nintendo is one thing, The Yakuza is a WHOLE different ball game
Gotta say, it feels good to see Nintendo being humbled for a change.
I hope this forces Pokemon to release top quality games. They will steal my heart if they releaee an open world game with all the regions in it with online gameplay. Hopefully this the beginning of a new Pokemon era that doesnt slack off.
