I thought your computer ding was my doorbell 😄 Lovely simple cards! I haven't done foiling yet but now you've inspired me. Thank you & love your joyful personality!!
Lovely clean and simple cards Marion and as you say, the foil does the work. Great video again, could watch you for hours! Thanks and have a beautiful week x
I have a fair few of your designs Marion, you clever, talented wee cookie 😁- matter of fact I recently bought some more to send as a gift to a crafty friend .... So spooky you're demonstrating those same products 🤯 😁
What a great way to use foils and your laminator. These are all beautiful. CanI ask what the plastic sleeve you put the copy paper and foil strips through the laminator is. Thanks for showing how to do this.
Fantastic cards Marion, the foiling is fab, I think we all know what your “thingy me bob” etc means now 😂thank you for using the Eucalyptus it’s such a lovely colour 😊
@@marionemberson you certainly don’t need to apologise, I’m sure you have enough to do without making lists of what people say, it would take hours I’m sure 😂🤣 keep the videos coming lovely 😊
Tip: Taylored Expressions sells foil shims 2 in a pack. I sadly bought those then the fuse came back in and now I don’t need them. But for a laminator would be great!
I have the 3 sets of Julie Hickey toner-printed embellishments that you showed. I chose not to file them until I need them so that I can pick a color that will go with my card. I do like your idea of sorting them into separate photo "boxes" labeled with the type of greeting inside so that I don't have to look through all of them to find the one I want. I can create my own sentiments using cardstock with my toner printer. Computers now have so many different fonts to choose from that I can create lots of different looks. Thanks for the tutorial.
I’m so glad to know the fab foils will work for toner! For some reason I thought they were just adhesive foils. So now I can use all of mine. I bought quite a few! I have some Ranger foils that are only for adhesives like glue or tape or Decofoil duo paste. I have a pretty WOW blush color!
@@marionemberson yeah funny I knew that but didn’t know they worked on toner. But I think it’s because the ranger multi packs I got on sale do not work for toner and I just got confused. So I’m glad you went over it again for this numpty! Hahaha
Marion, do you know if you have to use the Fab Foil or can you use foil that I’ve already got? Love the idea of using the foilables, but would hate to not be able to use my foil. Thank you! 💖
It depends on the foil you have, I explain a little about the two different types of foil in the video, fab foil works with toner, double sided adhesive, glue etc, and heat and pressure, the other, let’s call it hot foil, works with a die, heat and pressure. I hope that helps 🥰🥰🥰
Thank you so much….greatly appreciate the response. I’ll have to first check to see what I have on hand and determine if I need to go ahead and order some of the Fab Foil sheets. Love watching your videos, you seem so down to earth and make it enjoyable with all your humor. 🌸💖🌸
Love the sentiments. I do now. I got the Mink and also Gina k. Wondering if these can be copied on my toner copier I’ll try it. So glad you showed this. O rider some of these from Amazon 20 pack of needle knitting stoppers. 4.99 US. Different sizes. Great to put on glue bottle tips instead of those pins. Let me know.
Absolutely, you may have to play around with putting a shim or two in to help with pressure, but as far as I know, most laminators work wonderfully 🥰🥰🥰
So could you use that gold foil piece that you did the lines with and do it on the solid black piece….. than a second contrasting color foil over the top to fill in the lines? You would be running it through your laminator twice…. Would this work?
Did you say you’d already done a video on using an iron instead of a laminator? If you can you give me link or title that would be great . Might as well use my iron for something !
Not a silly question, I did (sort of) explain in the video briefly, but I may not have been clear 🥴🥴 sorry. The fab foil works with toner sheets, adhesive sheets, bonding/embossing powder, decofoil paste these things act as the glue so the foil only sticks to those, and you can use it in a laminator or with an iron, even hair straighteners, the hot foil (glimmer machine) has a glue all over and when pressed against a raised area (a die) and have heat and pressure it transfers that image, if you put hot foil through a laminator the whole thing will transfer. All the foils are about heat and pressure, I hope that helps 🥰🥰🥰
I have several of Julie Hickeys foilables as well. Love the flowers but the package of sentiments I got, to be very honest, I was hugely disappointed because there are a majority of them that are so tiny they will get lost on my cards. I don’t make many simple cards with a lot of clear space so I’m only mentioning it so that if you do layers on your backgrounds then dies or busier cards, many of the first pack of sentiments won’t show up they’re way too small. I’ll look up the name of the package and post it in a reply. If you have a larger white plain area, they’d maybe be better, but I’m talking tiny. So just wanted to share.
Just a question on the leaves strips. Wouldn’t it be easier to leave it in one piece and cut the foils into strips and lay them on the one piece then cut after foiled? Just so you don’t have the tiny strips to keep in place. Or not?
@@marionemberson I’m not following. How would you have more waste if you still used the same foil strips? They’d just be laying on the half a panel cut at a diagonal. I’m kind of ditsy remember! lol love you Marion. I really do. I pray for you and your family all the time. Your a good egg as they say! ♥️💜💙💖🧡💛
@@dizzinese ok… I’m confused now 😂😂😂😂😂 oh hang on I know what you’re saying, but I’m still sticking with my way as it would be so hard to get the strips cut perfectly straight and I have that foil cutter thing, and laying them down without them moving about. 😂😂😂
@@marionemberson oh. That makes sense. I was just thinking it seemed somehow it should be easier handle all those pieces and the foil clings to everything! But that mint tape worked well. I don’t need my shim I bought from Taylored expressions since I bought the fuse. I’ll keep 1 for the laminator, but if you’d like it I can send it sometime. Jlmk. Have a good night!

Hi, I have these same sentiments. But some to most of them have a yellowish stain look on the edges. Is there any way to get rid of it. It makes them look dirty 😢

Hi Marion, can I use my ordinary hot laminator with these foils?? Thankyou.

You certainly can, I play with that piece in my next video, I also have other foil videos where I’ve done just that 🥰🥰
