I was over the moon with the 1st 3 qualifiers Serbia, ❤Portugal❤ and Slovenia went trough. I was so afraid 1 of them would not go trough Adding the outstanding Ireland and the sure qualifiers Ukraine and Croatia most my favourites went trough. Sad about the poor vocal performance of Poland very sad because quite like he song and Australia I wanted to go trough sadly I thing the staging was confusing and a bit disappointed about the vocals.
I voted for Portugal and Croatia. Portugal is my biggest surprise this semi, as I haven’t tought so much about that entry before, but what a strong voice and performance 💚 .Croatia (my whole family love it, and the performance was great, but left me somewhat longing for more). We also liked Ukraine a lot. I think I would’ve prefered Moldavia over Luxemburg) Ireland, wow, really strong theme there 👹, my teenaged conservative son was chocked, my younger girls are in to ”Wednesday” and ”Stranger things” so they enjoyed it, a strong entry and skillfully performed, but not for everybody. My mum will watch the final with us, I can imagine her reacting to it. 😂
Now I loved Ireland just for the song long before the staging, but seeing the whole performance in its glory blew my already high expectations out of this earth. One of the best and most creative esc performances I've ever seen and I've just been watching since 2010 as a small kid. I think I have to change my top now (they're my 5th place), but I'll have to see the 4 others in my top 5 in SF2 before I do that. I've been on a rocky journey with Croatia, I used a long time to grow love for the song, but now I love it. The performance also blew my expectations away and now I love it even more and have to put it much higher than I have (7th). I see this winning for sure, but there's so many other winning contenders as well, so I'm excited to see what will happen on saturday. I liked Slovenia beforehand but thought the staging didn't fit the song's darker theme, so I was scared it had the possibility to borderline nq. Very happy it qualified, because I thought this semi was weak overall with only two "out of this world" performances and four that were amazing, some were great and the rest a bit meh. All of my faves got through ++ some extra I really didn't care about. Happily no tension during the reveal or robberies as it was predictable who'd qualify, I'm more nervous for SF2.
Went 9/10! Had Poland over Cyprus. This is Croatia’s to lose! Ireland shocked me for all the right reasons. Happy for Luxembourg qualifying! I want to see the Benelux block in motion! As for the AQs: UK! Just wow! 🥊😲
What I think about the UK is that they weren’t trying to be themselves with the staging but other than going with the norm for them they went with something really unique, daring and memorable with all of its aspects working well together despite the vocals being messy but hey he has time to improve them but this song isn’t really about vocals so I’m not sure that he needs to imo, but objectively yes to get the best result. My predictions were all of the official ones plus Australia because it is the first time we have really taken a risk with our entry and showed our culture whivh viewers love. And the UK, Ireland and Cyprus would’ve given us automatic points. But again the vocals could’ve been cleaner and that running order wasn’t doing either us or Azerbaijan any favours so I am not surprised and anyway I would’ve easily switched it with Luxembourg so yeah. I agreed with many of the points you made of your other predicted qualifiers except for Serbia because I thought the staging was beautiful and captivating as is the song and the Balkan block was in the semi so it was written on the wall almost. The latter reason would be my justification for Slovenia as well as the song not objectively needing much staging because it is captivating enough on its own but even with that the concept could’ve been more flashed out and better but I still loved it.

Ukraine was great, Croatia had by far most powerful staging. Slovenia Raven should go more in to staging or go pure with original solo version...but I am happy she got in, awesome singer.
I am sad for Azerbaijan, I thought they had a beautiful entry😢 wouldn’t mind swap it with Slovenia 😬😉 Before the semifinals I wanted Australia to qualify too. But unfortunately with the voice cracks and apparently following bad mood of the artists (it seemed so) their little chances crumbled away 🫣 As for Ireland… ok, she deserved it, because a lot of people like it a lot. But it’s just not for me 😅🤷♀️
5/10 for me was shocked by serbia slovenia and finland i would've picked poland iceland azberjian myself. But overall i'm happy and big congratz to those that did qualify here's hoping they have an amazing time at the grand final on saturday
For me Finland was the one I’d have been indifferent with if they didn’t get through. I wanted Poland in their place and could have been happy without Ireland, although Ireland was just so out there that it couldn’t be denied a place in the finals. To me Moldova was much better today than in the initial release videos. Personally, looking at the videos that were released in the last few months: 1. Australia - boring video clip didn’t do it justice. 2. Moldova - unusual initial video, then she came out as a solo act 3. Iceland - generic pop with live act video that didn’t do it any favours 4. Azerbaijan - the ethnic twist was good but just didn’t blend as well with the song and the video clip in a generic studio. 5. Poland - probably my biggest surprise of the night. In her case it was her vocals - blanka’s vocals were far worse last year IMO.
I don't get Finland qualifying. The song was not that good and the staging was a mess. They tried to 'block' the 'naked' guy's area and it was visible a few times so basically it was a guy in a thong running around trying to sing. Felt like it was mocking the competition.

I was pretty happy. Didn't lose anything I was particularly sad about tonight.

I got 8 out of 10 but it was such a tough semi to predict. I'm so happy about Slovenia and Cyprus as I had them as NQ but loved them so much ❤
