They sure killed all the drama when they immediately opened up with Serbia, Portugal and Slovenia. Everything after that was a foregone conclusion.
All 3 slow songs through, Europe really positively surprised me there !

The order of calling Serbia, Portugal, and Slovenia 1st 2nd 3rd was CRAZY! I wasn’t confident in Serbia and Slovenia so that was such a moral boost for the rest of the results. Very happy overall!

@@TMPOUZI don't think so this was Europe voting. Not liking the style is one thing but there is quality in the song composition, the staging the performance and mostly the vocals. Sorry you are disappointed but if the Brazilians voted and helped, so what? Most of the countries sing in English for what? They can get the votes of everyone in the world if they did not, then is because its not good enough d
@@martagomes4310 Rest of the world votes in the semis I think (just not the countries from semi 2). It's a pitty Azerbaitzan with excellent mellodies, vocal techniques and soulful presentation is left out, while Portugal (no melody), Serbia (boring, corny) and Finland (joke entry and kitch) go through

I'm over the moon ! 9 of my 10 favorite songs are through, only Azerbaijan didn't (they ruined it with staging and costumes I think).
I'm so happy Slovenia and Portugal made it. I was most impressed by Portugal, I watched at my parents house and I almost started crying, even my dad was completely silent ! That performance was perfection in all possible ways, just ... wow !
And Ireland ... I remember I did put that song dead last of all songs in the beginning when the songs were coming out, but now I was rooting for her big time, what an amazing performance that was !
Could not agree more for me was also 9/10 to be perfect Azerbaijan would be in and Finland out not my cup of tea but is so crazy that got the votes

That performance from Bambie Thug was fantastique. I'm SOOOO bouncy right now.
I'm amazed that 6/7 of the songs in the first half qualified and the first 5 songs in the running order managed to, kinda proves how strong the first half was. I'm shocked and not shocked that Poland was the first half casualty tho. Shocked because Poland tends to slide in with the diaspora votes but not shocked because that performance coming after Ukraine and then Croatia following was a nail in the coffin.
I am so happy. I can't believe 🇸🇮🇵🇹🇷🇸🇱🇺 all qualified. The only song I'm sad didn't was Poland but Finland was always going to.
Poland were never going to have a chance with that Mae Muller like vocal. Seems that girl must have been taking vocal training from Mae Muller herself

I remember your excitement last year when Slovenia qualified for the final, and this year you are just as happy because of Slovenia, how nice to see that. love from sLOVEnia.
I was so relieved after they called first 3 finalists (🇷🇸🇵🇹🇸🇮). I was so scared, especially for Slovenia. She was so emotional, she cried after they called her. Deserved final, definitely. And it was obvious from the start that Croatia is 100% sure. After all I'm satisfied, but I'm a little bit sorry for Azerbaijan 🇦🇿. I liked their song a lot.
And I am satisfied that I also get 9/10 correctly. I missed Poland🇵🇱 (my predicted Q,but NQ) and Cyprus (my predicted NQ,but Q)😃
Can't wait for Thursday and rooting for Norway 🇳🇴 (which is my favourite if we don't count my Croatia). Meow to all.😺😺

Azerbaijan was the only song of my top 10 that didn't make it, but honestly I don't know what they were thinking with that staging and those costumes, they really don't make sense with that song :(
I ja najviše volim Norveška iz drugog polufinala...čak mi je u ukupnih top 10 druga, posle Hrvatske.Volela bih da Teya bude u top 10 u subotu, ali je kladionice nenormalno podcenjuju i stalno pada.NAPRED Teya, volimo te 🌸💜🌸🇷🇸
@@milajovic3239 Ja bih isto definitivno htio Teyu u prvih 10, baš zato jer ju svi podcjenjuju,a naravno i sama pjesma mi se sviđa. Jučer sam baš nadobudno pratio kakvo je stanje s kladionicama za vrijeme finala. I Srbija i Slovenija su po njima bile vani (11. i 12.), a Poljska i Australija unutra. Nije nemoguće da Teya bude u top 10, sjećam se Estonije od lani koja je isto imala baladu,nitko je nije očekivao previsoko i završila je 8.ako se ne varam jer je imala nekih 130-140 bodova od žirija i samo 20-ak od publike i bilo je dovoljno. I još je ušla u finale kao 10.u polufinalu. Tako da nije nemoguće da i balada na kraju bude visoko, samo zavisi pretežno od žirija.

@@goranjovic3174they literally got every one wrong except for Poland/Slovenia with a tie between Australia/Serbia. Portugal were literally at 75% expected qualification
I'm sooo happy for Slovenia and Cyprus. Veronika, Teresa and Maria & Rim Tim Tagi Dim were my favorites of the night. I also loved ireland. Sooo pleased with Portugal and Serbia, well deserved as well. The rest was expected. I didn't want finland to qualify though , I would have prefered poland but I understand why it did

I was so disappointed the last spot was either for Luxemburg or Poland. I wanted them both in. But I was very excited Portugal made it through and glad to see your reaction to it.

I'm actually glad Poland didn't qualify; their entry was a run-of-the-mill pop song, and I thought it was one of the weakest entries last night. However, I liked the staging (chessboard effect on the floor and chess pieces), but I didn't think that was enough to compensate.

Yes , i'm absolutely sure about Teya Dora in Top 10 even can be much much higher! Jury will vote for her but she is Mega Star Wordwide, so public potentional can vote a lot for her! She for me even not Dark Horse , only bets soo so underated her! It is as they underated last year Loreen! Can imagine that stupidity!? And everyhthing can be history of biggest fall ever of betting odds!
She deserving Top 5 minimum based by her artistic and singing skills! And i'm even not joking.

I don't think Teya is cracking top 10, but I think she's absolutely talented enough for it. It's just a stacked year. Wishing her all the luck in the world, though.

This is a SONG contest, but it seems more like a "who puts the more fireworks or strange things" contest!
People are mesmerized by the lights, the stage full of things to complement the act. They don't apreciate the melody, the quality of the song itself. We brought a masterpiece act (song and dance) we don't need "fireworks". It's sad that the contest is more about the visuals than the song.
But we're in the final, even without the votes of Spain, France, Switzerland, Belgium... 🙌

9/10 here too 🥳 I also thought Poland would sneak in, but unlike you, I did not see a Slovenia Q.
- Normally this is where I'd go on a rant about the result, but honestly I'm very happy with them, I cannot remember the last time I basically had nothing to add, lol.
- Maybe the slightest thing I will complain about is Australia missing out, but that's more because I preferred it over a couple of other songs that DID go through. I appreciated their showcasing aboriginal cultures, so it would have been nice to give them a second shot. But oh well, that's how the cookie crumbled.
- Announcing Serbia first, then Portugal, then Slovenia was honestly brilliant. It felt a bit like "steady on, leave a shocker for the last spot!", but it was nice to see them getting through quickly when they all had question marks over them.
- Yay Dad!! 8/10 is a great result 😀
Semi 2 is gonna be soooo jacked - but I fear for Malta, and Belgium has been less convincing in rehearsals... we'll wait and see, but I'm glad at least you have BE first
I had the same list as you, and thought Poland would qualify. Very happy for Ireland! I also loved Moldova but I knew that between Moldova and Slovenia, only one would qualify and it would probably be Slovenia. Very happy for Raiven, she looked shocked that she made it! Can't wait for Thursday

I'm Portuguese. Happy we are in the final. Its a very good song with beautiful voice, sounds and great acting with the dancers on stage. It flows in such a nice way, and its refreshing, almost like, less is more mentality. The other songs who qualified are also good. The final on saturday will be amazing.
I am again so happy to see that the televoters also appreciate a well sung quality ballad! And that the vocals matters not only to the juries. 9/10, I was really surprised when Cyprus was callled. Starting and ending with a girl bop - I felt that Luxembourg was much stronger vocally.
Also; 5 first entries qualifying! And 6 qualifiers in the first half. Three slots in a row towards the end NQ. Also happy to see that if the entry is good enough one can qualify from any slot. And NQ from any too

Love that 5/5 out of the starting performances qualified, and in general the 1st half did better than the 2nd half.
It's a reminder to everyone that at the end of the day, it's about the song and performance, not the running order.

Ireland goes very up and makes this year even more unpredictable.
How is Ireland rated so highly? To me it just felt like a special performance, but nothing that could be even close to winning. First and foremost, it is not really a good song...

I got 9/10 too, Rachel. Cyprus was my miss (Azerbaijan was in their spot.) Pretty satisfied with how the evening went, but I am aching for Fahree and Ilkin.
We had the same top 10 ! Really surprised so many young teenagers stayed up late to vote for Cyprus.
Was watching with my parents and they HATED Slovenia and Finland for all the nudity used. I was certain the odds were gonna be right since Serbia came 2nd and was a ballad many might forget. I thought either Cyprus or Serbia since they’re both at the start and the trio of performers at the start made Liar look cheap tbh. Was ecstatic when Croatia and Ireland qualified though!
Couldn’t ever see Australia qualifying but I was certain with all the diaspora votes, Poland were gonna qualify plus it IS a catchy song but they sadly didn’t make it in the end!
What I don't understand is how the EBU said Ronela's performance/outfit was too provocative, and last year, we had Chanel in a thong, and this year, naked Finland and orgy Slovenia. Why the inconsistency? It seems like it was because Ronela wasn't slim?
I predicted 9 out of 10 this time, beating the bookmakers' prediction. Like you, I was also pessimistic about Serbia, thinking Poland would advance instead because of diaspora support (taking into account Poland's history of almost always qualifying with the televote). Very happy to be wrong about that because Serbia is one of my favorites, and Poland did nothing for me. However, I did put Slovenia through because it just felt so right coming after Iceland and Germany.

I was pulling for Australia and Azerbaijan over Cyprus and maybe Finland but they were both super long shots. I'm just riding the high on the Bambie Thug train and looking forward to Thursday, possibly an even crazier semi.

So happy for my favourites Ukraine, Ireland, Luxembourg, Serbia, Cyprus and Slovenia all qualified to the final the only countries that I voted for that didn’t go through were Poland, Australia and Iceland, I expect the drama and shock qualifiers to come on Thursday as pretty much all 10 that went through tonight we could already guess were going through

Bambie knocked it out of the park. Completely took me by surprise that ireland was my favourite followed by ukraine. Really glad serbia, portugal (my country) and slovenia made it. Everyone i had on my list went through so couldn't have gone better.

Disappointed Australian but couldn't justify a spot for them. Maybe if they'd made an effort with the staging it would have been different.
I really like your reaction when Petra announced Ireland. All the show was spectacular. I'll miss Azerbaijan and Poland.
Also surprised about Cyprus; I didn't even realize Poland was in play. Six of the first seven qualified; that's unusual, isn't it?

I got 10/10 and my only 5 favs from this semi are in the Grand Final.
I was 9/10 on the app, I didn't have Lithuania going through and had Moldova instead.
Rachel almost got every qualifier right, with the exception of Cyprus and Poland (u need to switch them around)
I hated how long they let Ireland hang. I was worried after Cyprus got announced because I didn’t expect Poland to NQ.
Feeling conflicted about some if these balkan countries going through despite bad execution on stage, didn't really need Luxembourg and Cyprus both either. But ultimately "fine"
