Can a mortgage brokerage fund the loan? I was working with a mortgage brokerage that chose Rocket Mortgage as the lender for the best rate. During the final closing Disclosure, I discovered that the brokerage is the lender and Rocket Mortage will be servicing the loan. I couldn't get a convincing answer on why or if this is common. What do you think about my situation? I'm thinking of postponing the closing and hiring a lawyer to review the docs and title and oversee the closing...

I'd like to make it a quick and simple transaction with no realtor or banks. But I did want to make sure the title and all is clean and free of liens before I purchase if they accept the offer. I have and question how are fees for attorney low to high in North Carolina I’m buying and house in Wayne county Pikeville North Carolina and I was going to close on oct 14 and builder push it out to 28
It sucks that you need a JD just to do these easy, menial tasks. In FL, title companies and brokers with half the education get it done simply and effectively. At least as far as SFR. They like to get involved in the larger commercial deals and development. Just seems like there is sooooo much more money on the table for a bar-certified lawyer than residential closings in North Carolina. Challenge yourself. Hop into some capital markets, REITs, securitization and syndication, private equity, etc. Get your moneys worth out of all that student debt.
The sky is the limit with most things in the legal field. There are closing attorneys that are millionaires. I know a few that are 6 figure earners. The goal is to do what you love, not chase what you "think" makes more money.

So you do the title search before the fire department and housing
We do a title search within the first 24 hours of a contract being signed and submitted to us for the closing.
@@TheRealEstateLawyer also do the loan officer do his own title search?
@@c0ntender1 In our experience the loan officers leave it to the attorneys to conduct the title search and do not do one themselves.
