Thank you for watching! - Хобби
I love how you’re not afraid to take photos in harsh sun.
Perfect lens for food photography
Beautiful portraits + fitness session included
That is so Incredible 🥺❤️
Awesome Julia! Love it
Julia you are soooooooooooooooo talented !!! WOW with a 400mm hand held. Yikes !!! Bravo ! Kudos ! With thanks and gratitude for YOU 🙏 🌹
Love this video!
Love you and your videos so relaxing to watch, it’s like asmr to me lol
What a crazy experiment! 😅 Gym and art in one! 💪📷
this is something else haha! great work as always julia!! love from brazil
Would've been a great april fools joke if you used this lens as a "daily" lens. 😂😂😂
Insane. Take portraits with a 400mm. It has an amazing bookeh, and the long focal length makes sure that the features of the face are even more beautiful than they already are. Simple but beautiful portraits. Congratulations on both the photos and the video
Some awesome stuff there !
So beautiful 🤩
This is very beautiful and inspiring.
Love it, love this woman in the photos
Excellent photographs
OMG! The bokeh is amazing!
Amazing 🙌🏻
Oh damn! I’ve wanted to test this lens out for so long 🥲 great images!
Wow😍
Amazing work , I only hand held a 300mm 2.8 Nikon once for a wedding & it was quite a task so shout out to you for hand holding a 400mm 2.8
Very impressed by the gear and your shooting
Before I become a photographer, an important question. How often do I have to do fitness exercises a week 🤔? Great video Julia 😍. As always, it is an honor to see the Master at work. Thanks to the whole team for this wonderful video 👏👏👏!
your preset/editing makes a world of difference, it looks so good.
stunning
Love this review! Thank u 😊
I love my A7R4. Such an awesome camera.
Impressive lens very nice portraits and is a training for body building kkk Great video!!!
Awesome video. You are good at handholding. I am bad even on 70-200. Hats off.
I still use a monopod with these larger lens. Even if they are super light, photographing football or soccer on the field there is always some wind that is always pushing against the lens.
Love it at 7:03 when you see Julia and other people in the reflection of Heidi's eyes as the lens is so sharp... Better return to my own post-processing before I start lusting after an unattainable 400mm lol :p Definitely looking forward to what you will come up with with the 600 f4.
When you can see sharp reflections then you know the Eye AF is 100% where it should be.
super nice
amazing
Julia's left arm bicep is rocking it in this shoot! I bet the arm ached after that shoot! Surprised you didn't use a monopod XD hahaha
wow!
Its amazing watching you handle that beast of a lens like its some small samyang prime ( :
Great video Matt Irwin did this some weeks ago also with a 400mm F2.8
Now that's... a big one! 📷
SCNR. I had been making up my mind, since I saw the thumbnail-preview, but could simply not come up with something smarter. Hope you don't mind too much.
Cheers, J. 🤓
And her arms grew 4 sizes that day. LOLOL OMG that was so amazing. I want to see that in a wedding photographers bag. ;)
Hey Julia, I know you don’t have a Canon setup, but can you review the new Canon 1200mm lens with a 2x teleconverter for portraits? Maybe you can use a canon to e mount adapter and shoot with your a7iv?
Maybe a suggested location could be through a building 1km away through the model’s room window?
Just kidding! But it’s really cool to see such an unusual shoot.
I want this lens for sports. 🤤
You make it look so easy to shoot with that big lens handheld. Love the Bokeh. Always learn so much from your videos. Looking forward to seeing the 600 f4 in action.
Nice, I like it
This was a fun shoot. It was so comical seeing you have to stand like 40m away to get a full body shot hahaha
Think I would have been chasing the bird around with the 400mm instead of the model. You did a great job with the output but not really what the lens was designed for. Good to show that it is hand-hold able and how maneuverable it is with the size and weight.
Haha I did end up getting a shot of the bird too! And thank you. Yeah portraits is definitely not what this lens was intended for, but I do love the results!
Girl! You can shoot beautiful portraits with any lens you can grab, amazing. Hats off hija!😘😎
The image are beautiful and bokeh is nice. The image has that film and vintage lens look, it is softer compare to those shorter primes like 135mm, 85mm, 50mm GM type. Very good lens for sports and wild life or you are into portrait from the next suburb.
Subject x background separation is better with 200/2, 135/1.8, 105/1.4, because of wider aperture and shorter working distance. (Especially leaves/grass is too distracting @400mm even at f2.8.)
Very nice camera
Wow, this is a weapon lens Julia 😂 I have the 70-200 mm for my FX6 and this is big, but yours 😂
W Model / W photographer
You’re amazing
❤️❤️
Great demo! What’s the small device rigged to the camera for recording the viewfinder?
As someone who has owned a Sony A7R IV for years, and a 100-400 as my main for a year, you're going to want to keep the shutter at 1/1000 and above ALWAYS in natural light. Both the body AND the lens require a higher shutter speed than normal, but the results are WORTH IT. Good job doing just that in the video. Wish someone had told me months ago :(
I make perfectly fine pictures at less then 1/250 of a second with that lens. Nonsenses that it has to be above 1/1000, resulting in a much to high ISO
@@StephaanBOSS56shutter should. Always be double the focal length because of camera shake....it's the rule for taking photos...especially if you are holding the camera
@@DanielMorris-bf3sy 1. The rule like more then 10 years ago was not double the focal length, but the focal length. You were adviced to shoot a 600mm at least at 1/600. 2. Then came lenses with stabilisation and we gained easily a stop or two. 3. Then came IBIS ( in body image stabilization). My latest camera has 8 stops of IS, but the camera we are talking about already has a 5 stops of IS. Just do the math.
Let's say it straight, Julia can do a photoshoot with anything and it will always be a masterpiece. You know I'm right
Julia is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s easy. Select a model from Melbourne, you and Dan come to the NSW Central Coast, and you’ll (maybe) be far enough away for a full length portrait on the 600mm 🤔😉
Hi everyone… Today I will be using a telescope.
Super amazing shots my new friend. Fully support your channel. Have a great day
Hello Julia, the way you hold the lens is the reason why your hands hurt a lot. This lens is one of the lightest super telephoto lens on the market yet it have to be handled with respect. Use monopod or hold it properly. That means left hand elbow leaning on your belly and camera pressed on your left eye. You shall also stand sideway a bit. This way you'll be able to hold it all day long! Br. Vladimir
Perfect. What device do you use to record EVF video?
👍❤️❤️❤️
Julia, again a nice video.. But.. That thing on the camera is not the Atomos ninja V.. But what are you using? Need something flexible for shooting cycling and record the screen for reels to teams :)
This is amazing to see! Do you regularly use 400mm for portraiture? I thought I was the only one who uses a weird set of 35mm 1.4, 105mm 1.4 and 300mm 2.8!
You are not - I use 35/1.2, 105/1.4, 200/2 as main portrait lenses ;-)
Julia You can handle some big lens, You are superwoman God bless you.
Wow, this was great. A lot of those close-ups you got were stunning. Of course, your editing is always sublime. I'm sure you guys got a lot of looks at the park during this shoot hah. I loved that wide video shot to show perspective when you were doing full body shots 😂
Regarding the 600, perhaps have a distinct background (skyline or treeline maybe) but have your model be further away from it, to see how much of the background you can pull in with compression. Could make for some interesting results.
Also, someone asked about how you deal with green-ish skin tones that may result from daytime locations like this, and I'd be curious as well how you combat that in post, should you run into that when not using the sidewalk as a reflector.
I’m gonna do street photography with this lens haha
They should have lent you a monopod as well.
i am a sucker for bokeh. i love it
You are soooooo good 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
love your models she is very beautifull
Verry good
No waist mony on lens very useful for some photography .you are great photographer.
what Kelvin do you use? because in the video it looks warm
That lens is a Cannon!!
Haha it really is!
No that’s a Sony lens
Look that g logo
I'm still curious what goes into you're a thought process when choosing ISO, not so much for this lens because I can understand it is so heavily you want to have a fast shutter speed, but sometimes during your normal photoshoots you use a higher ISO even though it's fairly bright outside
With these newer high end cameras, the sensors are so good you can afford to run at high ISO, so you might as well take advantage of it so you don't have issues with too slow shutter speeds.
I feel this qoute from Kai Wong is appropriate here: "BOKEH!"
How do you record the evf on your sony?
that looks like a whole workout
❤️🌹
Great lens and - wow! The gorgeous model would also look stunning shot by a potato xD
I don't know if that's possible, but could you review the viltrox 85 1.8mm stm Mark II??? that'd be so helpful
Julia do you ever use speedlights in your shoots?
Wow and will you still use the lens again ?
Is there any heat issue mam
I've used my Sony 200-600G A7RIII for some friends portraits, taken on the south Perth foreshore with the Swan River and Perth City/Elizabeth Quay as the backdrop. I believe these unique "compression" shot are the best way to use these telephoto len. As they cant be replicated by other shorter lenses. It's even better at night.
105 1.4 looks better
I think you should get 135mm for 1.8 to try out. That will be a better portrait shoot. But it seemed can handle any lens sony throw at you. Great job 👏 👍
Yes, that's a great suggestion.

She has it
mình rất thích video của bạn
What device do you use to record EVF video?
Any chance you can do a comparison of A7IV + 70-200 GM II + 1.4x/2x TC?
I have this lens but never considered using it for portrait work
Oh my god... 400mm F2.8 , are you crazy ? I think you're the CEO of Sony
Really impressive hand held shots; I would have required shutter speed of 1/2000!!!
😂😂
I really love your videos Julia. You always make the kind of videos that I love watching that nobody does except you. Thank you.
And I wanted to ask something. Do you pay the models or do the models pay you for the photoshoot and u make a BTS?
Consider Door #3, it is trade and both get images to use.
Or Door #4, when both the photographer and model are professionals: somebody else is paying.
what are you using to record your viewfinder ?
Did you have trouble connecting with the model as you were rather farther apart this time?
Please what device do you use to record your EVF while having the shoot?
It's not the normal Atomos product, seems like a compact device and I'm really interested in it.
Regards
It looks like just a video transmitter on the camera but I cant tell you the exact model
Thanks for the video. Would have been so much better with a 200mm f/1.8 lens - if only Sony would make such an extreme luxury item. Maybe they can make a new "lightest, smallest, sharpest in class" version just to needle the opposition....who knows?
How do you deal with the green hue in highlights and midtones that result from settings like the one in this shooting? I would love to learn how to get rid of them more easily and effectively, specially on the skin. Any tips on that? Thanks! Great work!
I'd be interested in that too
