Honestly kinda same boat, I started this hobby with like 100 different interests and just bought things from all of those interests with no real thought behind it, now I'm stuck with a bunch of figures that don't bring any joy that are hard to get rid of, I literally offered some of them for free over 4 months ago and even then no one wants them. I'm hoping to actively trim the collection down to just a few interests that make me happy so obviously I'm not going to be participating in this contest, but good luck to everyone here who is :p
I only got into collecting around 2021. But i made sure to have loose (but still strict lmao) rules. Kinda helps that I'm a Vocaloid fan first and foremost. There's no way to buy every Miku figure even if I wanted to. And getting Voca figures that aren't Miku is rare. But yea. My collection is only Vocaloid/miku and maybe the rare figure that's too cool to miss. like the Lain Nendo or the IB figure. I won't buy a figure unless I 100% love the concept and I sell whatever I lose interest.

Honestly I feel the exact same, I’m 20 now and I just lost interest when I was 19, there’s no point in it anymore since all I do is stare at it, I don’t even pay attention to it half the time, it gets dusty and wastes my space. I get depressed when I look at other peoples collections because I’m reminded of consumerism and it’s meaningless to me
