Hey man, I ran into same issue with the current sensor ring. What I found out you can do is run a single 0ga from battery thru sensor and then with a distro block after sensor you can go to your ground points. Sick video tho I been looking for an in depth video with this year truck 👍🏼
Quick question wanting to do this upgrade on a 17 silverado. Mechman schematic states just run a 0 gauge ground thru sensor from battery to alt. (Making this a “Big 2 upgrade”)and disregard the 2 grounds to chassis and body. Whats your opinion on this is it sufficient enough? Or the 3 4gauges from the neg side of battery going thru sensor?
nice write up. i actually used it to do my 2020 tahoe today. wanted to see if it was the same for tahoe and the truck which it is as long as you have the ecotec engine. one thing i will say. if you get a ho alt and a pwm controller to keep your voltage at 14.8 all the time you do NOT need to even run anything through that negative battery current sensor. at all. i actually have mine unplugged lol... the pwm controller bypasses the battery current sensor and you will not have a battery light on dash either. with that being said. i ran a negative 2/0 run from battery to alt case. negative 2/0 run from battery to frame (chassis) and a 2/0 run fused 350 amps from alt pos to battery positive. for the big 3. the bigger wire that leads directly to your engine ground underneath passenger side of block is not necessary but if you feel it will make a diff then go ahead which then becomes the big 4 :). im currently running 3 sundown xv3 15's on a salt 8 that can produce almost 12k watts lol. i have about 3 pos runs from front to back 4 rear frame grounds, and im thinkin about running 2 dedicated 2/0 negative runs from rear battery to front battery. hope this helps someone else to if they ever come across the pwm controller and or the battery current sensor issue.
@@OXCFilms the box is being built atm . it looks sick wont be playing for mauybe about another few weeks. possibly longer. who knows im diong the doors next and tuning everything once finished.
looks sick. how’d you get the tires to match up with the fiberwerx 3” fenders? i imagine either offset or wheel adapters. looking to do the same to my mid travel silverado
Hey man! I’m about to do this on my 14. I’m curious why you left the original positive on the alternator and then added a second one? Can you just replace the original

Thanks! We are glad you enjoyed it 👍
Also it is a great idea about the 0gauge first then the dist block

Honestly we arent sure which is best but we decided to do it this way "to be safe"
Did you replace the 2 cables from battery to ground with the 0 gauge or just added

@@OXCFilms also have you upgraded your audio system since this vid was made? and or upgraded your alt?
Good luck on the build 👍
I havent done the big 3 or alt yet and have had my sensor unplugged since july 2022. No CEL and No issues.

Thanks! Yea its the wheel offset

You can just replace that wire we just decided to add it on top i think to not have to remove the original one from the harness
How much wire did you end up using? Trying to figure up how much i need to order.
Cant remember but it all depends on how you run your wire. If you can get some rough measurenents and they add a couple of feet
👍
Got a link to that positive terminal you used?

What size bolt did you use to ground the alternator?
Dont remember to be honest. We just grab it from a box of bolts we have
Hi. Why did you leave the factory alternator power wire on top.
We just thru it back on there so it wont be loose and also it wont affect it in any way
@@OXCFilms thank you.
No problem. Anytime 👍
Hello do you know why when I put my new double din stereo and I jus installed speakers and I put high volume my stereo turns off?
Hey whats up. What vehicle?

@@OXCFilms perfect thank you and also one question I wanted to know if the big 3 upgrade is worth it and notices a hug difference ?
It is worth it if you are going to be running a sound system and light and stuff like that. The charging system will stay on point
