There's no way they'd push him to the moon when there's other long term storytelling happening this year for the world titles. He was utilized several years ago with the WWE and US champion. He had his time. I do agree that The Hurt Business was wasted potential though. Lots of promise even if titles werent involved.
He has very little star power. He's never been able to get over on his own .His first run was bad. Winning the fake ecw title. His 2nd run would've been a disaster without Lio Rush. And eventually mvp . His managers have always been the key to his success .

BDC had a more street oriented style mixed with Japanese samurai martialarts esthetic, admittedly inspired by Wu Tang Clan. While THB was more distinguished looking, opting to wear suits to look more professional and down to business(no pun intended). Not to mention BDC was more of a mixed group, having Low-ki and Samoa Joe as members. Whereas THB was known as a dominant black faction. These are two different stables, so blending them for the sake of having a name would just be phoning it in.

I would really hate to see Lashley leave WWE. I still hope one day we see him vs. Roman but now that Cody has the title the luster has been lost. Triple threat, maybe?
I can see why Vince put MVP with Omos, the visual looked good. Hurt Business is money. It has legit talent within that group with just Shelton and Bobby, but MVP and Cedric complete what is missing from Shelton and Bobby. It's a shame that Triple H doesn't see it, but letting them leave WWE is a smart move. It gives them a chance to make WWE potentially see what they are missing. I loved The Hurt Business and want to see them conquer the wrestling business one company at a time.
I don't think these three leaving WWE needed two videos. Like, there's nothing more for them in WWE. And they're all old. Lashley is 48, MVP is 50 and Tamina is 46. Why are WWE letting veteran talent walk??? Because NXT is on fuego right now in producing talent ready to go… Its no different than in Europe with football clubs. If the youth academy keeps pumping out talent at a high rate. Eventually you gotta cut your losses with vets who dont offer the high end potential young stars do. Thankfully the wrestling business is in an elongated boom period post pandemic. They will find work, WWE is not hard pressed for attracting talent but it is sad when top guys you really appreciate are no longer needed on the roster.
