    Sad to see so many people suffer in silence.
    But happy for the fortunate ones who are able to see the light at the end of a very dark tunnel.

    I had the biggest grin when Rose and Jess had their sights restored. It's a pity that the recipients of the surgery only had one eye done, but considering the lack of time and resources, it's better than nothing. Those bed frames in a heap outside...I wonder why. Especially with all those people who have to sleep on the floor, I wonder if they could not have been used.

    • @c-light7624
      @c-light7624 6 лет назад +3

      Queen Lewis Thanks for the explanation. I must've missed the part where they said Rose was having both her eyes done. At 21:26, if you look behind the presenter, there are people seated who have bandages only over one eye. It could be that those people could only save one eye also but, given the lack of resources, it made me think that the medical staff is only able to operate on one eye for each person.

    • @c-light7624
      @c-light7624 6 лет назад +2

      Queen Lewis Exactly, I think so too. As long as they are able to see. Not sure how cataracts affect people in general (I used to think it affected both eyes), but this short doc and reading the comments of others have taught me quite a bit and I'm googling to find out more info on the condition. Very interesting and heart-warming at the same time. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience on the subject. 🙏🏾☺️

      Some people have eyes that are beyond repair, so they only perform surgery on the eye that's able to be salvaged.
