I had the biggest grin when Rose and Jess had their sights restored. It's a pity that the recipients of the surgery only had one eye done, but considering the lack of time and resources, it's better than nothing. Those bed frames in a heap outside...I wonder why. Especially with all those people who have to sleep on the floor, I wonder if they could not have been used.
Queen Lewis Thanks for the explanation. I must've missed the part where they said Rose was having both her eyes done. At 21:26, if you look behind the presenter, there are people seated who have bandages only over one eye. It could be that those people could only save one eye also but, given the lack of resources, it made me think that the medical staff is only able to operate on one eye for each person.
Queen Lewis Exactly, I think so too. As long as they are able to see. Not sure how cataracts affect people in general (I used to think it affected both eyes), but this short doc and reading the comments of others have taught me quite a bit and I'm googling to find out more info on the condition. Very interesting and heart-warming at the same time. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience on the subject. 🙏🏾☺️
Where to donate to the charity organisation: www.sightsavers.org/ Great job that they are doing! I wish the best for Rose and Jess. I can't wait for an update!
I really love this channels documentaries. Especially work like this makes me so happy . Activist and volontairs working in places where people dont have much. Im just so happy to see these people get the help they need and a whole other world open up for them.
I love the way Ade carries you through the story. He does so with depth, humanity, kindness and joy. As asad as the stories are, you feel intense hope and gratitude.
These documentaries honestly break my heart and put it all together again. With each almost half hour, I transform into a form of humanity that cannot be undone. Thank you and well done.
Watching this has been truly inspiring. I'm a first year medical student and did not know what field of medicine I wanted to go into; until now. Thank you for making this documentary.
This brought tears to my eyes! Amazing just amazing, just shows you what is really important in life. He always does such a great job reporting, i love it.
I love seeing the smiles on them. Even though they struggle for their everyday life they still smile through it. This makes me really grateful and reflect on to be given this life where almost everything is accessible to me (food, medicine, transportation) therefore I should give more to people who needs it.
that smile that girl has when she saw herself in the mirror was priceless God bless their mission and I hope we can continue giving people their site that it's an amazing documentary!!
I really enjoy the way Ade presents these stories. Its a joy to watch him interact with any community in the world and see how they feel so comfortable around him. That's how it should be. Never let go of this guy, he's amazing!
Well if we would tax the churches around the world we could end poverty and hunger. The catholic church has billions of dollars in assets. But hey, they pope needs his golden throne..
This is so beautiful to watch. My grandmother, one day after waking up, got blind instantly. Her eyes then turned light blue within a few days. She lives in East africa and never got the help she needs. May God protect her Ameen.
I've been everyday on RUclips, for 14 years now, and it's my third time watching this video. It is the most touching video I know! Much love and respect to everybody Unreported World is one of the best channels out there! It is important to document all horror and poverty in this world, so that our children will see this and make the world a better place.
It's sad to see these suffer and nobody is really aware of the issue. Thank you for the insightful video. I hope that the illness clears out in the village.
This is so beautiful!! Working as an ophthalmic technician and having the opportunity to see cataract surgeries, it makes me very thankful that I get to see these miracles everyday!
I'm so happy with the old and young lady! 😭 😌😌😌😌 tears of joy.. I'm always smiling until the end of the video 👏👏👏💚 thank you Unreported World you opened our hearts and eyes to the real world!

Thank God God is Good!!
I'm sitting here feeling so grateful for living in a country where we take health care for granted!! I can't even imagine going blind and knowing that a simple operation can restore my sight and I can't get it!! Just seeing the desperation is heart breaking!!
Mad respect to this amazing team of doctors who put a smile to this pple, for the journalist I salute u making sure everyone went for the operation be blessed
I love this presenter in the wheelchair. Hes never selfishly feeling sorry for himself. Hes always worried about others that have it worse. I've yet to hear him ever mention his condition. Unless asked about it. He surely has no limits. Nor dose his heart. God bless him
Thank God for ppl like you. Simple conditions, if treated, sights are restored. Poverty can be a death sentence. As curable and as treatable as this disease is, many loose their sight...And so many of us believe we have it hard. I will humble myself and shut up.
Oh my god I'm only at the beginning of the video and seeing Jess's feet after walking for so long broke my heart in a million pieces I'm fighting the tears so hard
I understand that reports aren't supposed to get involved but I would have offered the grandmother a ride at least some of the way there. Like you have a car. When I'm an adult I will definitely be a charity person
I dont understand why People are blaming the producers. They are doing a great job. We dont know what is happening behind the scene. Im sure they helping them
What a wonder journalist you are, Ade. You are working for human rights all over the world. You are a great man, when greatness is disappearing rapidly. Rose is a very beautiful girl. Where are all the billionaire "philanthropists? All talk, no action.
You can. I found a Organization who helps people in South America, Syria, Bangladesh etc. In case if you wanna send funds of any amount from $1 you can send to them via Neteller which is like Paypal ( member.neteller.com/ ) and their ID is togethertohelp10@gmail.com . Good thing is they also provide you a receipt for the payment via Email. i have personally sent them $100 yesterday. Just mention it is for that particular victim in your mail subject.
I love Ade Adepitan's shows, hes the best presenter
Deli S I share a birthday with him March 27
Deli S He’s Nigerian
Agreed!! His compassion is refreshing. I try to adopt his attitude.
Yes he is the best, although others are good but Ade makes us understand through his questions , the hardships this people face
Same. He is so kind, understanding, and factual to boot.
Sad to see so many people suffer in silence.
But happy for the fortunate ones who are able to see the light at the end of a very dark tunnel.

Some people have eyes that are beyond repair, so they only perform surgery on the eye that's able to be salvaged.
Bringing smile to people's faces is the best gift to offer to the less fortunate
