He's kinda forgotten, now, but even though he never fought for the belt, he's got a highlight reel that would put most champions to shame and fought a who's who of guys in the infamously deep 155 division from all the way back when he was only a teenager. A part of that 2000's breed of cardio machine Americans (Guida, Sanchez, Stevenson, and Nate come to mind) who were good everywhere but not really a generational talent anywhere, so they were just constantly stuck as gatekeepers at the highest level of the UFC --- getting into crazy fights on regular television.
