I actually really love all the overall changes they've made in map design (for the most part) but the ONE thing I will always miss is the old lighting. The gritty, intense aesthetic of the old maps is what I miss so deeply in today's version of siege. It's like growing up and how colors just begin to feel... dull ya know? :(
I get you man. Some of the changes make the maps a bit more balanced but it sucks that they completely changed the vibe of the game for everyone. I get how the lighting used to be unfair but I feel like Ubi should have at least kept it in casual.
@@SledgesHammer123 I started playing on the first day of Y1S3 (Skull Rain) and I experienced the good, old times. I stopped playing when Osa came out. All the reworks, the change of shadows/darkness/lighting, removal of the op bodies and countless smurfs/cheater made me move on. Still I am thankful for 4 wonderful years of Six Siege. The game started to decline in Y5S3 imo.
I wish I got the experience the game in it's earlier years. I still like to play it although I truly believe the game has gotten worse over the years, but the new game director who recently got introduced seems to be doing a good job so far. The game might be able to make a comeback if they listen to their community.
I started playing from Operation health but for some reason I still prefer the new season or the present siege. But I still get it why people like old siege and I respect it
I never played the original version. I just thought the Halloween event reskinned theme park but no it just brought it back to this version. Which after having the old consulate brought back tells me they still have all the old maps. We need a game mode with the old maps in permant arcade.
Same, I had never played the original theme park, and I thought they added all that stuff. The original theme park is absolutely stunning, I think it had tons of design flaws in terms of gameplay. But that aside, this map was so atmospheric. I'm glad it finds good use in Doktors Curse, tho. It fits.
Used to feel like the biggest map. I had a love hate relationship with it, but overall a memorable one. Nowadays I feel like Theme park is almost small compared to new maps and reworks...
@@justinwinn01 same for me, started in operation health, but my very first entire and grinding season was Blood Orchid, I remember everything about that season, the initial leaks about ela, lesion and ying, sneak peeks about the map….everything. I will never thank siege enough for creating memories that will never leave my mind.
makes me wish that when they put in permanent arcade playlist, they'd have a mode which is current siege but the map pool is only the old versions of reworked maps
The ground level used to be really scrambled and unstructured, lots of small rooms. Actually kind of resembles what the newer maps and map redesigns are doing. But the first floor definitly lost a bunch of identity, with the train carts being lost... I understand they were annoying, but they could've kept them in some way.
@@Jaapst i do agree, it does play better, however, the nostalgia factor and when things were simple. nothing was over done and the fact cheaters were non-existant. this map gave me good memories, and to be honest, it wasnt a bad map, just in the wrong time.
I started playing this game during black ice, And was a god at this game on controller At like 7 years old 😂😂. But now I miss those times, and how the map reworks changed the course of the game and maybe fixed the bugs, but just think of all the memories left behind on those old maps, and their now left to rot… Of course their great memories! But sometimes it’s just hard to look back on when we were all younger, and we enjoyed the game, to sometimes even Calling in sick to play the new season, In which I remember doing that multiple times. My favourite reworked map is probably Oregon, because that was 100%. But maps like Hereford base, house, Clubhouse ETC was not needed. Hopefully they never change Coastline, as that is probably one of the best maps that has never had a rework (to my understanding). Thank you 2016-2018 siege…
I can confirm, there was lots of fun moments hiding in corners and roaming on this map (lots of great memories of enemy players coming out of hiding as well) Hearing footsteps, whether attacking or defending, felt intense. Cav sneaking up on you was a whole other feeling on this map lol I do miss the night maps. The primary reason they were removed was for balanced competitiveness and lighting improvements (for example, we got night Favela now and the lighting is very good on that map) but I think the night maps also indirectly contributed to the startegy-don't rush thought process that made Siege what it is. You definitely didn't want to just rush into a dark map and not know who is where. I hope one day they bring night maps back to casual. Also, hope you're still enjoying Siege! These years have really flown by.

I remember 2 F kids and bunk was the best site to hold and then it was 1 F drug room and labs. I do miss this old one for the valk cams in the train hallaways
It was a nightmare drone then fight the millions angles the only thing i wished they kept that attackers can controll a big chunk of the map like train
They reworked it with less room more hallway and years later they rework consulate with more rooms less hallway. Feel like the old theme could be thé actual rework of the now theme park
I remember playing on my brothers Xbox and I found a room with 1 painting and it had a super creepy face on it don’t remember how I got there but I remember not wearing brown pants 😔
Overall the new maps they release and rework are better for gameplay purposes but they don’t feel the same as these old ones, new maps like Labs, Emerald and Lair don’t feel lived in is the best way I can put it I guess
Lair is at least a good map. Emerald and labs are not better than old theme park… i wish they would have change the map like clubhouse and not change a ton…

@@SledgesHammer123you can't keep the lighting for 1 mode and change it for others. I get the nostalgia but it's a way better map now
Theme Park used to be an actual horror theme park. Now it's a Skyscraper bootleg, a map with asian aesthetics
Exactly! I wish they at least made a night version of the rework to keep some of the original feel.
Damn this makes me nearly tear up, this game and this map used to be so cool.

the old armor throne room area was terribly confusing, the old upstairs is just perfect though.
