- Not all days are good days - some days are bad, but this isnt' what kids want to hear. Kids want to have fun, but the truth is that some days you get to do fun things and other days you go to the doctor.
The girls, Ava and Alexis, are very protective of their baby brother Jersey, and try to come to terms with things at their recent doctor visit.

I can't believe that I was crying. I NEVER went in when my kids got their shots. My husband had to go. And I would STILL cry when I heard them crying from the other room. Kudos to you Ami. You a strong momma.
No husband. I HAD to go in and sit in chair, hold my son, they strapped us in. After, my son walked over and kicked nurse in shin!! OMG I almost died. LOL
My Baby Just Turned 26yrs. Old On 1/17/20 Friday. She Only Cried On The 3rd Vaccine. They Did 3 At Once. She Was An Infant. 1-4mos. I Cant Remember Anymore. But as She Got Boosters Growing Up, They Never Made Her Cry. I Was The Grown Up, Still Crying About Needles. She's Not Scarry. I'm Still As Big A Chicken. Cant Stand Sharp Objects Coming My Direction. I Get To Praying Really Intensely. 😱😱😱🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
My sister asked me to go with my nephew. It was terrible I cried more than he did! I dread to think what it will be like when I have my own children. 😭

Great job Ami and Justin explaining the process to the children. As someone with 18 years of experience in every imaginable area of child growth and development, I would like to offer a piece of advice if I may. Explaining the process was a wonderful idea, however in the future you might want to try explaining, answering any and all questions and then moving on to a distraction rather than continuing the conversation beyond exhaustion. Children that young can easily be distracted with a question asking game, coloring books, stories, etc to ease their mind from what’s to come. Once they are filled with anxiety and completely worked up, it’s very difficult to calm them down or rationalize with them. A great rule of thumb is to keep the discussions brief and powerful. You, of course are the experts on your children. I am just a viewer with a limited vantage point of the entire situation, but I strongly believe in avoiding all possible drama and meltdowns. Unless... this was intentional for the purpose of views. Which I’ll assume the best and reject the idea that any parent would put their children through this for a RUclips video 😉💕. Continue to love, grow, and laugh together.
I was hoping somebody else would see what I saw, I mean he worked them into a freaking frenzy by just going on and on and on; my goodness. I know you're being nice about it but I can't help but think he did this for the purpose of getting them to cry on camera.
Yes, I also was surprised at the level of anxiety coming from the parents. Of course the kids would be afraid when the parents are making such a production over a doctor visit and having to get a “needle.”
Alexi Steve Jesus Christ, I don’t want to think that way about these folks. It was obvious Justin was having a hard time. Besides, nobody wants to see those kids crying, so that would be a weird thing to do for the camera.
I’ve seen parents off camera just people not into filming their families going on and on explaining something logically ad nauseam to young kids that didn’t have much of a chance of understanding. The ones I know say they really want to explain EVERYTHING in a logical way.
I know this one kid that never got to believe in Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny because the parents really did explain EVERYTHING logically.
I just think Justin’s style of parenting might be a little bit like those parents. He seemed so desperate to explain things without realizing that it wasn’t helping until Ava spoke up. I think he just didn’t know that “the why” of things doesn’t necessarily help. Maybe after the appointment that kind of explanation would help? I don’t know. I really do think he was trying to do his best to prepare them.
The tough thing about shots is that it does hurt more if the person is moving around or tense. Remembering to breath, then breathing deeply while it’s happening, thinking things like, “The pain is brief. I’m perfectly fine.” or whatever resonates. “I am safe, I am safe.” Practicing breathing and self talk before the appointment at home and even while sitting in the waiting room has been a big help for me. Just, if you’re not used to deep breathing, don’t go into a doctor’s appointment hyperventilating. Anyway little kids can learn meditation. I’ve seen a kid’s section in a couple of the more popular meditation apps. Headspace and Insight Timer. I wonder if lullabies would work too. The smell of lavender or vanilla?

I laughed when seeing the family on their way to the needle appointment. Always love the communication between parents and children or between each other in this family ❤️. But about the flu injection : in Holland only people over 65 and younger people with chronic heart and lung diseases and people with a weak health get the flu vaccine . Other people are advised not to take the vaccine so their body will learn to protect them by building a better defense system against bacteria and viruses. Our pediatric immunologists advice not to give healthy young children flu vaccines.
Holland cares more about there people than the US. The vaccine is full big neurotoxins.
I live in the U.S.My now 21 year old son and I never get the flu shot. My doc asks every year and I am like nope.

In the UK we have a nasal spray for the flu vaccine for kids. Needles are difficult but I think 1 vs having to have lots in hospital if you get too sick is worth it. Unfortunately thought, kids don't understand that.

The kids were as strong as they good me, given the circumstances. Jerz Man saying he's just going to do it was sweet. All three of the children have such empathy for each other. Ami and Justin, good job explaining and helping everyone get through the flu shot day! Thanks for sharing and posting this, as it was such a great teaching process for toddlers and young children.
